Hi everyone~👋✨ Today, I finally got a last-minute spot from three days ago😍 At the Expo’s super popular water show🎶 We’re going to see “Ao and the Night Rainbow Parade”🌈✨ Our reservation is for 8:30 PM. I’ll show you everything from getting a spot to entering and leaving, plus some great viewing areas😊 It’s 6:16 PM right now. Heading early to the Water Plaza to snag a front-row seat~♪ Ooh! I can hear beautiful music from the Portugal Pavilion🎵 Let’s make a quick little detour👀 Wow! So many people are gathering! 😄 And it’s live music✨ Looks like Japanese and Portuguese musicians playing together🎶 Such soothing and beautiful sounds💓 A little hungry before the show… Heading to the FamilyMart across the street🍴 Looks like there isn’t much of a line today✨ There’s a limit on how many people can enter at once. Alright, let’s go inside♪ Where’s the juice~?🍹 Found it~! Yay! They have Famichiki today!
(It was sold out last time 😅) So tasty~😋💕 And only 240 yen including tax!✨ Let’s grab some! Paper bag is 21 yen!! Shopping done💖 Now, let’s find a place to eat🍴 The Expo’s convenience store is actually pretty reasonably priced^^ Enjoying my Famichiki under the big roof✨ Actually… this is only my second time ever eating Famichiki 😂 Crispy outside, juicy inside… so good😋💕 We’ve arrived at the Water Plaza~! Now heading to the main reception area in the center♪ Passing by the restroom area… And we’re at the show entrance sign! If you’re late, you can enter directly from here. Some people have already claimed their seats in front of the Expo mark. All the staff are in “Ao” uniforms✨ Let’s head back to the sign and wait in the 8:30 PM area~ The spot is right next to the sign, on the left side facing it. Usually, the 8:30 PM group starts lining up around 7 PM.
(After September, earlier is better!) By 7:15, about 10 people were already in line! Around 7:30, the line starts moving forward little by little. And the 7 PM water show starts✨ We watch standing up Moving a bit closer~ It’s around 7:38 PM First QR code check starts📱 Got the original “Ao and the Night Rainbow Parade” sticker!✨ Moving forward again~ A little wait here Standing all this time… getting a bit tired 😂 The 7 PM show (~20 min) is over Those not watching the drone show leave here The drone show starts immediately!✨ If you were at the 7 PM show, you can stay in your seat♪ About 10 minutes of 1,000 drones lighting up the night sky✨ Drone show ends at 8:07 PM! Those with reserved seats leave here Now it’s our turn, second show! Heart pounding💕 Priority guests are guided to the viewing area first Second QR code check starting soon~ Can we snag front row?😆 It’s pretty dark, so staff say, “Please don’t run.” Show your QR code marked “Attended” Keep your screen brightness max for smooth scanning✨ Second QR code check! Everyone walking fast 😄 It’s a race! Front row still open? Oh no💦 Front row is full 🥲 But! We were kindly allowed to squeeze into a gap in the front row😭💖 Front row secured~!😭✨ So happy to be in the front row😭✨ Alright, 8:30 PM show, “Ao and the Night Rainbow Parade” begins🌈✨ “Ao and the Night Rainbow Parade”🌈✨ On a moonlit night with a rainbow… A festival of creatures begins, legend says, on a magical island The protagonist is a child named “Ao” Ao heard the legend from grandma Dreaming to meet the mysterious night rainbow✨ Lives connecting, Water and air flowing… One night, the rainbow appears, The festival begins🌙🎶 Ao dances with the rainbow, Meeting many creatures, Having magical, heart-connecting experiences In a world of flowing water, air, and life, It reminds us of harmony with nature, And the importance of diversity A magical and festive story🌌✨ Water show on Sept 1✨
Here’s a peek at the waiting spots and crowd situation♪ For the 7:10 PM show, people started lining up near the entrance before 5 PM Around 5:30, the line slowly started moving inside By 6:40, they show your QR code and guide you to your reserved seat✨ Look for this mark 👀 to find the reserved seating area Now, here are some recommended viewing spots for those without reservations💡 Even if you don’t have a reservation, if you arrive early, you can get seats near the center The reserved area goes roughly up to this black building Beyond that, it’s open seating Here’s the view from open seating😊 There are concrete benches on the far right, but the water show is a bit far from there💦
Fireworks, however, are gorgeous🎆 Around 6:25 PM near the restroom, the crowd looked like this Especially in front of the Expo, very popular spot✨ Some people even start sitting as early as 4 PM! Even further back, by 6:35 PM, it’s starting to fill up But if you go a bit further back, there are still seats, so that’s another good option👌 My favorite spot is behind the main gate, with a view from the big roof ring✨ You can see the whole show beautifully, though the sound might be a little quieter, so the story is harder to hear You can watch from upper or lower levels of the roof, and people start arriving around 5 PM here😊 The Expo shows are almost over!
