【9/1オープン】チェックイン後から飲み放題のラウンジが誕生!絶景温泉と豪華会席、無料の夜鳴きラーメンまで満喫できる贅沢宿

I’ve arrived in Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture. This is known as the temple town of Kashima Jingu, one of Japan’s most famous shrines . This historic shrine is said to have been founded before Christ. It is the head shrine of all Kashima shrines across the country, and is the oldest shrine in Japan dedicated to the god of martial arts. It is a historic place that has attracted people’s faith since ancient times, and even today it is a sacred spot bustling with worshippers. There are many main attractions, so I thought I would head to the main hall first, but I found a shop and decided to take a break. Since it’s hot, should I get an ice cream… or juice? After thinking about it, I decided on an orange float. Orange float 450 yen. Delicious. The tower gate seems to be under renovation. After a short walk, I arrived at the main hall. Both the main hall and the worship hall are designated as important cultural properties of Japan. From here, I’ll be heading to the inner approach and the grove of trees. The inner approach is home to 700 species of plants, both at their southern and northern limits, and the grounds are a prefectural natural monument. Apparently, this is a deer park. The deer that play within the park are descendants of the deer from Kasuga Taisha Shrine (Nara), which was moved from Kashima as “messengers of the gods.” We arrived at the Okumiya Shrine, where the main hall dedicated by Tokugawa Ieyasu was moved during the construction of the shrine during the Genna era. This shrine is also designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. We found a nice cafe next to the Okumiya Shrine , which served drinks and snacks, making it the perfect place to rest during our stroll around Kashima Shrine. Kashima Shrine is surprisingly large, and it would take about an hour to visit all the main spots. We weren’t able to visit all the spots, but it was a wonderful place where you could really feel the history. Next, we headed to the roadside station. “Itako” is located close to the Itako Interchange on the Higashi-Kanto Expressway. It is a roadside station where everyone from children to the elderly can enjoy shopping, meals, resting, and activities. Suigo Itako is a popular fresh market where local vegetables picked that morning are lined up at “Itaro”, where fresh vegetables are lined up at low prices. Free-range guinea fowl eggs… I’m curious about these rare eggs . They also have yogurt and other items. They also have freshly made dorayaki. Taking advantage of the characteristics of rice-producing Itako, rice flour powder is used in the dorayaki dough, and the dorayaki bean paste is also handmade. Dad, who loves dorayaki, couldn’t help but buy some. We’ll have them as a snack later. For lunch, we went to “Restaurant We decided to have dinner at Ofukurotei. The Goku Shoyu Ramen was ¥800, and the Karaage Set Meal was ¥800. Dad shared the Karaage Set Meal, and Mom and Sister shared the Ramen. When we travel, we love roadside stations so much that we always stop by, and the food we eat there is always exciting. The simple shoyu ramen was delicious. Thank you for the meal ! With our stomachs full, we headed to the hotel. This time we were staying at Kamenoi Hotel Itako, a hot spring hotel nestled on the lakeside of Suigo Itako in Ibaraki Prefecture, where you can enjoy the nature and waterfront scenery. It is about a 20-minute drive from Kashima Shrine, which we visited earlier, and about 10 minutes from Itako Roadside Station. Access from Tokyo is about an hour and 40 minutes by train, or about two hours by car, making it a surprisingly convenient location from the city center. A free shuttle bus is available from the nearest station, Nobukata Station. The shuttle bus requires a reservation, so if you plan to use it, don’t forget to make a reservation. We’ll be arriving soon! Kamenoi Hotel Itako The interior of the building is simple and clean. Check-in at the front desk starts at 3:00 PM. After checking in, we headed to our room. There is a wide variety of rooms , including Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms , and Japanese-Western rooms, as well as barrier-free rooms and single rooms for single guests. This time, we stayed in a special Japanese-Western room with an open-air bath. Upon entering, a Japanese-style room was right in front of us. On the table were some peanut crackers, a specialty of Suigo, to enjoy with tea. This bedroom had an outlet next to the pillow, making it convenient for charging your smartphone while you sleep. There was also a TV in the bedroom. Coffee and tea sets, a safe, a refrigerator, a hairdryer , and a charging cable. Next to the bed was a closet, where we found our haori coats, yukata obi belts, and towels. Behind the curtains was the open-air bath. The bath was spacious, and the bathtub was large. The wooden lattice window allowed us to see outside. It was a pleasant open-air bath where you could feel the breeze from the outside. There was a sink and a toilet on the right side of the entrance. Bottles were placed in the room, and there were also some installed on each floor. 帰りました。 English: This was a room where you could enjoy a luxurious space with a private open-air bath. You could freely fill up with water from the water server provided. We were also shown the other rooms, so we headed straight there. This is a room where you can relax with a view of the water town of Kitaura below. This is an 8-tatami Japanese-style room. It is a Japanese space enveloped in a calm atmosphere. The large windows offer a panoramic view of Kitaura. In the morning, the sunlight shines on the water surface , and at dusk, you can spend a relaxing time watching the sky turn red. It was a room with an open feeling. That concludes the room tour. Next, we went to see the observation bath on the top floor. The bath is open from 11:00 to 24:00, and from 5:00 to 9:00 the next day. It is open from 3:00 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for maintenance. First, we will look at the men’s bath. The changing room is spacious and equipped with lockers with keys. The view from the changing room is also wonderful. The large bath where you can enjoy the view of the water town as far as the eye can see is on the left side. The medium-temperature bath is on the right side, and the low-temperature bath is on the right side. The water quality is sodium. It is a natural hot spring with its own source of cold chloride mineral springs . There is also a reclining bath. It is soothing to soak in the reclining bath and gaze at the scenery that unfolds before your eyes. Next is the women’s bath. There is no switching between men and women, and you can also enjoy the open view from the women’s bath. On sunny days, the scenery is like a painting, and at dusk, you can spend a relaxing time watching the lake surface turn red. Kamenoi Hotel Itako also allows day trip bathing, so you can enjoy this panoramic hot spring with a spectacular view even if you do not stay overnight. The fee is 750 yen for adults and 350 yen for children (elementary school students) . The facility is open from 11:00 to 17:00 (last admission at 16:00). The facility is closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays every week for maintenance, so the opening hours are as follows: 15:00-17:00 (last admission 16:00) It was truly luxurious to be able to enjoy this view and the hot springs at the same time. Next to the large public bath is a rest area. This rest area also has an excellent sense of openness. There are about four massage machines and several vending machines, so you can relax and enjoy the view after your bath. Now that I’m back on the first floor, I’d like to take a walk around the building. There is a yukata corner in front of the front desk. Yukatas are not provided in the rooms, so I’ll take a yukata and amenities from here. Yukatas range from S to LL, and there are S and M sizes for children. The “Yogappe Lounge” opened on September 1st. “Yogappe” is an Ibaraki dialect word meaning “good” or “a good thing.” The Yogappe Lounge is open for a limited time from September 1st to December 25th, and is open from 15:00 to 20:30. First, I’ll take a look at the snack corner. There are colored button chocolates, fried peanuts, heart-shaped lemonade, and persimmon seeds. There are also many nostalgic sweets and drinks available here. All-you-can-drink delicious Ibaraki alcohol and soft drinks. There are six types of Monin syrup: melon, lemon, plum, strawberry, cranberry, and peach soft drinks. Kamenoi Hotel also has its own original shochu. Spicy ginger shochu made with Ibaraki ingredients, pear and osmanthus craft shochu , black tea craft shochu , red wine, white wine, black Nikka whiskey shochu “Manyuki” We have three types of “Hitachi no Kuni” (Hitachi Province): barley, roasted sweet potato, and rice. We also have “Aiyu”, a pure rice sake from a local sake brewery in Itako City. The drink corner and the sweets corner are next to each other, so you can enjoy them wherever you like in the lounge. We start with sweets. We ‘ve picked out a lot . The first drink is a red wine and soda mix and a craft shochu and soda mix. We toast with Dad’s expert way of eating the sticks: lightly crush them with your palm. This makes them into a nice stick shape that’s easy for everyone to share. We also try some local sake. The pure rice sake has a rich taste with a strong sweetness, but the aftertaste is refreshing. The shochu Manyuki no Rice is refreshing and easy to drink, bringing out the sweetness and flavor of the rice used. They also have a wide selection of soft drinks. It’s a lounge that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders. We all shared the dorayaki we bought at the roadside station. It had a simple sweetness and was very delicious. This is the shop. They have a wide selection of famous products that represent Itako , including tsukudani (simmered food in soy sauce), pickles, and alcohol from local sake breweries . The No. 5 most popular souvenir is Shijimi soup. The No. 4 most popular is a famous sweet made by wrapping Mito plum white bean paste in gyuhi and rolling it in shiso pickled in honey. The No. 3 most popular is melon jelly . The No. 2 most popular is peanut chocolate crackers. The No. 1 most popular is Kamenoi manju. They also have a wide selection of drinks . This shop has many Ibaraki specialties and you’ll want to buy a lot of different things. This is The game center on the second floor has a row of machines that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, such as UFO catchers and air hockey. At the back of the game corner is a karaoke box that can be used for 100 yen per song. There are two rooms, so it seems like it won’t be too crowded. There is also a microwave in the game corner. Vending machines are located throughout the building, but in addition to drinks, they also sell snacks and cup noodles. Unfortunately , I tried a second time, thinking I wouldn’t win, and I managed to get something. Near the game corner is a table tennis corner. Reservations are required, and the fee is 1,000 yen per hour . It seems like you can play table tennis without any worries in the spacious table tennis corner. Outside there is a tennis court. There is an omni-style tennis court on the hotel grounds that can be used for 550 yen per hour. Rackets and balls are available for free rental. It was time for dinner. On this day, we could choose the time in 15-minute increments starting from 5:30 pm. The dinner venue was Restaurant Suigo or the Great Hall . Dinner was a kaiseki course meal prepared with ingredients carefully selected by the chef. This time we had the most popular special kaiseki course meal. We toasted with an aperitif . The children’s meal looked like this, in a wooden box that looked like it contained treasure. Beef sukiyaki pot with udon noodles . Small dishes such as salmon roe, sashimi, and hijiki seaweed. Crab gratin and smile potatoes. Fried shrimp, fried chicken, and hamburger steak. Desserts were petit choux, tiramisu, and orange. The meal also came with rice and miso soup , which was quite filling. The adult portion was a luxurious offering featuring seasonal delicacies, including Hitachi Beef, a brand of Japanese beef that Ibaraki is proud of. For our first drink, we ordered a beer . We started with Western-style cold vegetable sticks with natto dipping sauce . The Mito natto dipping sauce was apparently a dish created by the head chef in honor of Ibaraki Prefecture, which is famous for natto. It had the unique aroma and mellow flavor of natto . The roast beef was made with Hitachi Beef, a brand of Ibaraki beef. It was slowly cooked in the oven at a core temperature of 55 degrees, making it tender and juicy. The sashimi included spiny lobster, tuna, squid, and flounder. Today’s white fish was flounder, but it was caught in a broiled boat. The squid sashimi has a sticky texture when you put it in your mouth, followed by a gentle sweetness. The flounder has a refined lightness and a rich umami flavor . Speaking of sashimi, the tuna is a must-have dish. It has a moist and smooth texture , and you can feel the classic deliciousness. The spiny lobster is quite large. The flesh is firm and elastic, and the unique aroma and flavor of shrimp are rich, making it a very luxurious taste. You can enjoy the texture because it is extremely fresh. The vinegared dish is salmon chrysanthemum roll and pickled herring kinome. The pickled herring kinome has a refined taste with the umami of the kinome aroma layered on the savory flesh. The vinegar is light and refreshing, with a subtle chrysanthemum scent and a refreshing aftertaste. It’s time to start grilling the meat. I forgot to add butter. Next up is fried Ibaraki specialty: swordfish with mushroom sauce. Apparently, the area off the coast of Oarai in Ibaraki Prefecture is so closely associated with swordfish that an international swordfish fishing championship is even held there. The swordfish is plump and tender, and the mushroom sauce envelops its flavor. Swordfish tends to get tough when it cools, so the secret to enjoying it is to eat it while it’s still warm. The rice pot is almost ready. It ‘s chestnut and mushroom rice pot. The rice used is Koshihikari rice from Ibaraki Prefecture. The soup is miso soup with clams from Hinuma . The chestnuts are carefully harvested by hand in the traditional way, and are said to be characterized by their rich flavor. The sweetness of the fluffy chestnuts gently blends into the rice cooked in dashi broth, and you can feel the taste of autumn in every bite. The delicious meat is now grilled. Hitachi beef is a brand of beef from Ibaraki Prefecture, ranked as A4 or A5, and is an excellent beef. It has beautiful meat with fine marbling, and is characterized by its tenderness and umami. It looks delicious. We dip it in the special sauce, and it ‘s absolutely delicious. The meat has a nice, melting sear, and the combination of umami and aroma makes for a truly luxurious taste. The inside is juicy, and it goes perfectly with the special sauce. For our second drink, we had beer. The Western dish was poached monkfish. Served with roasted mushrooms and champagne sauce. “Monkfish,” a fish representative of Ibaraki Prefecture, is characterized by its tender flesh. Poaching is a traditional French cooking method in which ingredients are soaked in water, dashi, wine, or oil and slowly simmered over low heat. The soft flesh of the monkfish is exquisitely matched with the aroma of mushrooms and the gorgeousness of the chef’s original champagne sauce. ” Wow… did you eat that in one bite?” For dessert, we had almond tofu with sake lees from local sake brewery Aiyu Sake Brewery, candied chestnuts, and cake . The almond tofu with sake lees is made by the chef’s special method, where the alcohol is evaporated, so it’s safe even for those who don’t like alcohol. It was smooth, with a subtle aroma of sake lees, a gentle sweetness, and a soft, chewy texture. It was a final dessert that allowed us to experience the flavors of Ibaraki ingredients and the seasons right down to the last bite . The portion was ample and very satisfying. Thank you for the meal! After dinner, we went to the game corner again … It was exciting to play table tennis and air hockey after refreshing in the hot springs. It’s time for a late-night snack. From 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM, you can enjoy free “Yonaki Dandan Noodles.” There are three types of Dandan noodles, with a different flavor offered each month. This month’s flavor was white. The flavor of roasted sesame and sesame-based spices, such as Sichuan peppercorns, create a creamy richness and aroma. The key ingredient is sesame sauce. By the way, a viewer previously commented that they were curious about which color of Kamenoi Hotel’s Dandan noodles was the most delicious. I tried all three, but they all had different flavors, so it’s hard to choose the best. They’re all delicious, but if I had to choose, I’d say the red one. The red is Sichuan Dandan noodles, which have a spicy flavor with Sichuan peppercorns and Sichuan bean paste. If you like spicy food, you’ll be hooked. The thin noodles mix well with the soup, and I always finish them in one go. Thank you for the meal. Good morning . It’s cloudy today. It’s time for breakfast. The venue is a restaurant. Suigo is open from 7:00 to 9:00. Seating is free. It’s a buffet-style breakfast featuring local cuisine. Let’s take a look at the dishes. Salted mackerel, sausages , fried chicken, cheese, Tabasco , Napolitan, scrambled eggs, meat and potato stew . This is the salad section: sunny lettuce, mizuna, sliced carrots , sliced daikon radish, cherry tomatoes, croutons, toppings: bacon-flavored dressing, sesame, non-oil green shiso, grated vegetables, salted cabbage , corn, macaroni salad , potato salad , pickled vegetables in a pot, pickled eggplant. This is the Ibaraki section: lotus root meatballs stewed in tomato sauce, ashe parmentier (made with lotus root, a specialty of Ibaraki) , pasta omelet (made with Okukuji eggs from Hitachi Farm), Ibaraki gapao , fried lotus root (a specialty of Ibaraki) , clam soup (from Ibaraki) , kenchin soba , stamina ramen , topping soup , sweet potato chips (made with Beni Haruka potatoes from Ibaraki), simmered sweet potato in honey (with sweet potato ). Deep-fried fish cakes, boiled komatsuna, natto, Hitachi Farm “Okukuji eggs,” steamed catfish in white wine, smelt escabeche, konjac “Unpairou” style , catfish sandwich corner using catfish from Lake Kasumigaura, tartar sauce, fried catfish , ciabatta rice porridge (with Ibaraki Prefecture rice) , white rice (with Ibaraki Prefecture rice), curry , ginger, tsukudani (pickled plum ) , chili oil, wood ear mushrooms, nori (seaweed), tsukudani (pickled seaweed), mentaiko (spicy cod roe), grated daikon radish , whitebait , pickled seafood, auspicious rice , chopped nori (seaweed ), wasabi, honey, soy milk, bread, croissant, pain au chocolat, pain au raisin, sliced bread, soft whipped cream, butter, jam, and this is the dessert corner: fruit cocktail, yogurt ( 3 types of sauce), green pepper, pound cake , cornflakes, fruit, granola, orange, Kamenoi manju (rice cakes for sale at the shop), watermelon , watermelon Honey, ginger, milk, and soft drinks are available for free. There was a wide selection of local dishes, and I’d like to eat more in the morning as well. I’ll enjoy the flavors of Ibaraki Prefecture. This looks delicious . I love sweet potatoes, so I’m glad there are so many sweet potato dishes. This is what I brought. My sister said it was like this. Dad will have curry for breakfast. It was a plate full of local gourmet food. Hache Parmentier is a creamy and delicious French home-cooked dish, a gratin dish made by layering chopped beef and mashed potatoes and baking it in the oven. The lotus root fries, a specialty of Ibaraki Prefecture, are crispy. I didn’t know Ibaraki was a famous lotus root producing area. The meat and potato stew has a gentle seasoning and is a great side dish for breakfast. Ibaraki gapao is apparently Ibaraki Prefecture’s official new specialty dish. Catfish steamed in white wine. It was my first time eating catfish, but it was surprisingly light and delicious. I took a bite of the curry that Dad brought, and it wasn’t too spicy, so it was easy to eat. Dad also said it was delicious. The stamina ramen soup is thick and clings well to the noodles, apparently making it delicious. Ka-san has the pickled seafood and tops it with an Okukuji egg. The mellowness of the egg is exquisitely intertwined with the umami of the seafood, creating a luxurious, creamy flavor. Finally, for dessert , we’re curious about the green pepper pound cake – we’ll also have Kamenoi manju . It’s nice to be able to eat watermelon in the morning. My whole family loves watermelon. I can’t tell you how many watermelons we’ve bought this summer… Dad seems to enjoy bread and manju for dessert. This Kamenoi manju was surprisingly delicious. It had a slight buttery scent and a nostalgic taste. My sister was also hooked and brought a whole one. The green pepper pound cake was surprisingly strong, with an interesting flavor. It was a fun breakfast with lots of local delicacies, and with so many unique local flavors, it was hard not to get greedy. Thank you for the meal. It’s time to check out . Check-out is at 10:00. Now, I’ll tell you about the price and my impressions of my stay at Kamenoi Hotel. Kamenoi Hotel In Itako, we were able to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and spend some time relaxing and healing our mind and body in the clear air . From the hotel’s large open-air bath, you can get a panoramic view of Kitaura, and the soft and smooth water from the hotel’s own hot spring helped to relieve the fatigue of everyday life.
