【滋賀 絶景宿】貸切風呂にサウナに設備充実!滋賀観光にも便利な琵琶湖畔に佇む宿|滋賀観光|滋賀旅館|滋賀ホテル|琵琶レイクオーツカ

Hello! This is Bubu Travel. I left home this afternoon for a leisurely trip. It’s August, and temperatures are over 35°C. I wanted to stay in a hotel and relax! So, I found a wonderful inn along Lake Biwa, and headed there. It’s a single-person accommodation, located a five-minute walk from JR Omi-Maiko Station. It ‘s a 45-minute train ride from JR Kyoto Station. I’m almost there! I wondered if I was really on the right path, but I was right. I was surprised, though, because I didn’t know there was a beach. A beach house! So interesting! Fast forward from here. After walking along Lake Biwa for a while, I arrived at my inn. Today’s inn is BiwaLake Otsuka. There are 28 rooms in total! I booked a room with a view of Lake Biwa. Parking. Lake Biwa is right in front of me! I didn’t expect it to be this close! Lake Biwa is just a few steps away. The atmosphere at the entrance is also lovely. I’m so excited to spend the whole day here! At the back of the entrance is a large children’s pool. It’s so luxurious, even adults want to jump in, which is so enviable. All rooms facing Lake Biwa come with massage chairs. I’ll announce the accommodation rates at the end, but this was a great value with plenty to enjoy. The entrance is spacious. I discovered a welcome drink! They had locally produced tea! There was a machine that made iced coffee, and there was also a bar where you could purchase alcohol. The fireplace-like design was lovely. The lobby also had a relaxing atmosphere. You can see the garden. Apparently there’s also a garden you can stroll through, so I’ll check it out later. There were magazines and newspapers in the lobby. I checked in and headed to my room. My room today was on the second floor. The entire hotel is new and beautiful. It seems to have been completely renovated exactly one year ago. It’s unusual to see a bell next to the door. My room. Today, I stayed in a standard Western-style room facing Lake Biwa. Wow! It’s spacious! The hallways were wide, too. I wanted to relax, so the massage machine was the deciding factor in my choice. The view from the window was also amazing. You could gaze out at Lake Biwa while using the massage machine. Apparently, the Otsu-Shiga fireworks festival was held about a week ago, and you could see the fireworks from in front of the hotel. The bed was made by Simmons and looked very comfortable. I’m not an expert on electronics, but my husband was impressed with the two USB ports. Apparently, the fast charging feature is a plus. There was a large TV, but we didn’t get to watch it during our stay. Tea and a kettle were provided. A heartwarming message accompanied the tea . The staff were all very friendly. In addition to the yukata provided in the room, we also had the option of samue workwear. I like the separates because they’re easier to move in, so I was happy! I’ll use the water from the refrigerator after my bath. Next, the bathroom and storage. The closet was more than enough for two people. The yukata, amenities, and safe were also located there. Next, let’s take a look around the bathroom and bath. The sink is spacious, too. Having a chair is also helpful. And the bath! It’s a brand new bathtub, perfect for those who want to relax in their room. However, since there’s a large public bath, a private bath, and even a sauna, I ended up not using it even once. The restroom is also clean and tidy. It looks like a spacious room that will be comfortable. Next, I head outside to Lake Biwa. I had only intended to gaze out the window, but with Lake Biwa right in front of me, I had to go! The beautiful scenery is also part of the relaxation. It’s Lake Biwa, Lake Biwa! It ‘s blue! Wow, it looks so pleasant. There weren’t many people, and it was practically a private beach. As I got closer to the shore, I was surprised at how clear the water was!!! Are Lake Biwa’s shallow waters really this beautiful? It was so beautiful, it felt like I was at a resort. I wish I ‘d brought my swimsuit. So, I decided to just dip my toes in the water! It feels so good I want to just soak my whole body! But there are so many pebbles, it’s extremely painful to walk barefoot! I recommend bringing sandals. It’s also extremely painful to get out! My clothes got soaked. But it was fun! After walking a little further, I found what appeared to be a sandy beach. There are definitely tropical fish here! Is this really a lake with black bass? It’s so beautiful that I ended up walking and looking at it for over an hour. I could have stared at it until sunset, but I wanted to take a bath, so I decided to head back. Bath. I headed to the private bath I’d been looking forward to. There are two private baths, and you can use them anytime if they’re available. You don’t need to make a reservation. I was able to check availability using the QR code in my room. Ah, this is the entrance to the garden. I’ll stop by after my bath. There’s a bath mat in front of the bath. This is what the private bath looks like. The changing area is also spacious, which is nice. The bath is large enough for two people to relax in. Wow, the water temperature is just perfect. There’s a step in the tub, so you can even do a half-body bath. The water is an artificial hot spring made from radium ore, and apparently has a warming effect. It’s getting a little hot, so I opened the window. The fresh air is coming in and it feels so good! Ah, this is so good. It’s cool outside, and it feels like an open-air bath. The cicada background music is also amazing. Honestly, I wouldn’t have known it was a natural hot spring. My body is so warm, I can’t stop sweating. I should have cooled down before getting in! But air conditioning is a blessing. Time for a drink after my bath. I stopped by the shop and found some local ice cream! I’m the type of person who really likes these things, but I have to hold off because dinner is coming up. The Tobitakun merchandise is cute too. Tobitakun is a character that originated in Shiga. These cookies are apparently a new product. I was drawn to their quirkiness, so I bought one. The notebook was cute too. Looking into the lobby, the lights were on, creating a lovely atmosphere. I wonder if the chicks are for children. It’s a thoughtful touch, isn’t it? There’s even a squirrel. I strolled through the garden after my bath, and was surprised by how authentic it was right from the entrance. It was a strolling garden, and it was quite spacious! Even at a brisk pace, it took about five minutes to stroll around . I walked quickly because it was so hot . The temperature hasn’t dropped at all this summer, even in the evenings. It felt even hotter after a bath. It’s a great way to cool down during the chilly season. Apparently, there are several Shigaraki-yaki raccoon dogs hiding there, so if you visit, try to find them. When I returned to my room, the sky was tinted orange. The hotel faces east, but the sunset is so beautiful. I resisted the ice cream, but couldn’t wait until dinner, so I snacked on it. There were only 30 minutes left until dinner. I relaxed in my room. I arrived at the dinner venue on the first floor. Today’s menu is the most popular seasonal kaiseki dinner. It includes Omi beef and many other local ingredients. Local production and consumption are a joy. Honmoroko, a specialty of Lake Biwa. A fish so tender even down to the bone. It was plump and delicious. Speaking of Kohoku in Shiga, it’s the Saba Kaido! Saba sushi is also famous, isn’t it? And so is the duck that Lake Biwa is famous for. All of them are delicious with the delicate seasoning that is so typical of Japanese cuisine. Especially this tsukudani! The kind that you can eat as much rice as you want with it! Delicious! It’s a bivalve that is apparently caught in Lake Biwa. It was so delicious that I looked for it in the shop the next day. It wasn’t. The man raved about this beer!! It’s a craft beer from Biwako Brewery. It’s sold separately. It had very little foam! I’m terrible at pouring beer. This beer is delicious!!! It has a subtle citrus flavor and is refreshing! It’s super light, so even if you drink it with rice, it doesn’t fill you up. Even someone like me, who doesn’t usually drink beer, found this beer easy to drink. Next , we had a sashimi platter. A clear soup with conger eel dumplings . The broth was delicious. The authentic bonito broth was enhanced with a hint of sudachi citrus. The broth was outstanding. This was a professional-quality dish! The conger eel dumplings were also fluffy and delicious. Next came grilled dishes and tempura. Sorry for the dark video. It’s completely dark outside, so it’s a bit dark from here. I forgot the name, but this fish is also caught in Lake Biwa. The grilled barracuda was refreshing with sudachi citrus. The young sweetfish tempura was also excellent. Seasonal foods are always delicious. Finally, we had Omi beef. We can’t eat a lot, so this amount of meat was just right. The meat looked so tender, and the vegetables were soaked in plenty of fat. It looked so delicious! The fat was sweet! Omi beef is so good, and the rice was delicious too! It’s rice from rice terraces grown in Shiga Prefecture. When choosing a lodging, good food is crucial! I believe that, so this lived up to my expectations and I was very satisfied. The dessert was also refreshing. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. After dinner, we headed to the public bath. The private bath was nice, but the sauna was also fantastic. The public bath is open all night, until 10:30 the next morning. This is also an artificial radium hot spring. It even has a sauna and a cold bath, so it’s a complete experience. It’s rare to find such a comprehensive bath at a hotel. I was given two room keys, so I entered without any hesitation. After the bath, it was time for a massage. The angled type felt really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the massage and was very satisfied. Well, goodnight. The next morning. Good morning. It’s currently 5:00 AM. I woke up early to see the sunrise. Wow! The sunrise is already so beautiful! I’m told I could see the sunrise from my room, but since I’m here, I thought I’d go outside! Of course, it’s still pitch black at the entrance. But because it’s dark inside, the sunrise outside looks so beautiful. I had planned to just relax at the inn, but I’m so excited that I’m busy. But you should definitely see this view. It’s so beautiful, isn’t it? Today, there are thick clouds near the mountain, and it looks like the sun isn’t visible yet, so I’ll wait patiently for the sunrise. 10 minutes later. Finally, the sun has come out…! When you can see the sun, the temperature feels much higher. The sun really has incredible energy! Then, Lake Biwa gradually took on a golden hue. It was so divine, I’m at a loss for words. My heart was filled with joy at seeing such a magnificent sight. The sun is magnificent. It was so bright outside. Incidentally, Shirahige Shrine, a famous sunrise spot, is located 10 minutes from the hotel. I had planned to visit it after this, but the view was already so beautiful that I decided not to. After watching the sunrise, I went to another private bath. The interior was almost identical to the first private bath. I was able to open the window here as well, creating an open-air bath! It felt so good. Breakfast. Breakfast was served in the same venue as dinner. I was happy to see many Shiga ingredients at breakfast. The miso soup featured clams. They also served soy milk hotpot . The menu was light and vegetable-focused . The grilled fish was Biwa trout and sweetfish. Fruit, too. The rice was the same as dinner, Hira rice terraces. It was so delicious, I’ll eat a lot of it today. I also grilled some fish. Speaking of which, we had sweetfish for dinner last night. I looked it up and found out it’s a Lake Biwa specialty. Apparently, sweetfish from Lake Biwa are small even when fully grown, so they’re called “koayu.” Another Shiga specialty was “red konjac.” It looked like it had a chili pepper flavor, but it tasted like regular konjac. This dressing was absolutely delicious! I thought it was berry, but it was red shiso. I think it’s probably homemade. But what impressed me the most was the clam soup!!! The instant clam soup I had a long time ago was so bland, I’ve always disliked it. The real thing makes such a delicious broth. Breakfast was delicious too! Thank you for the meal. The area where tea was kept yesterday was now the coffee and tea section. The man wanted iced coffee, so he went to the coffee machine next door. There were a variety of teas available. It seemed the coffee machine wasn’t working this morning. I managed to get some ice, so I made my hot drink iced, but it was still watery. Check-out was at 11am, so we were able to relax. As for the accommodation fee, we stayed during the shoulder season, which is peak season, and it was 23,760 yen per person. You can check the shoulder season rates on the official website. We came during a pricey time without realizing it, but it was a great accommodation and we were very satisfied. Thank you for watching until the end. It was so delicious that we ended up buying some. One of the joys of traveling is discovering delicious local food!
