Hiroshima Antique TourHello ! This time, we’re in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. We’ll be visiting antique shops, lunch, and cafes. I hope you enjoy your time! ☺ Let’s start! First, we’ll head to an Italian restaurant near the Peace Memorial Park for lunch. It’s an open-air cafe with a spacious atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re overseas. The freshly squeezed orange juice is fizzy , even with the hot weather still continuing… First, let’s quench our thirst. The Margherita, with beef brisket and fried eggplant with tomato ragu sauce, is a popular choice for international guests. It feels like we’re having lunch in Italy! The cheese is melty and delicious . Apparently, the gelato is also popular. It was delicious, thank you for the meal. Next, we’ll stop by a Scandinavian goods store I’ve been wanting to visit. It carries vintage and antique items. It regularly hosts events featuring domestic and international artisans, and when we visited, they were holding a two-person exhibition by metalwork artist Aei and rattan artist Takayo Katayama. Scandinavian items have a soothing quality to them.♡ They have a natural warmth and seem to pair well with Japanese items. They bring a smile to your face. They also had a wide selection of Iittala birds, which I’ve always admired. They also talked to me about purchasing in Scandinavia, and I had a wonderful time. Thank you for stopping by. Our next stop was a sister store of the “Piroreikki” we visited earlier, specializing in ceramics, glass, woodwork, and other crafts. Wow, what beautiful cutlery! Apparently, it was made by a metal engraver living in Hiroshima. The selection of works by artists from various genres was wonderful, and I couldn’t help but find one that looked good. The lighting, too, had a unique and beautiful design.♡ This is a work by Mutsumi Hirai. It’s blown glass with a three-dimensional decorative design. The glass patterns are refreshing. I bought a few pieces. It was a wonderful encounter. Thank you for stopping by. Let’s take a tea break! ☕ The light-roasted coffee is refreshing. A seasonal peach tart . The peaches are apparently compote with jasmine tea. The tart dough is also infused with lemon, making it a refreshing summer dessert. It was delicious, thank you for the meal. Let’s resume our shop tour. This shop features vintage items collected from Europe, mainly from Germany, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic. They have a wide variety of heartwarming and cute items! Artist Yudai Iikawa’s “Kobayashi the Cat” series. I traveled to the Czech Republic a long time ago, and some items brought back memories…☺ It’s a cute shop where you can enjoy the travel atmosphere while browsing the items on display . The vintage glassware is also lovely! Thank you for visiting. Finally, our trip is coming to an end, and we’re back at Hiroshima Station. We couldn’t leave without trying this (lol). This popular restaurant, known for its Hiroshima specialty, okonomiyaki, always has a long line. We waited a little while before entering. At the counter, you can watch the food being prepared right before your eyes. Just watching is making my stomach rumble! The Nikutama (with soba noodles) and the Special (with soba noodles) were both incredibly satisfyingly delicious! Thank you for the meal. Since I made it all the way to Hiroshima, I decided to splurge and get some conger eel rice to go. Let’s go home! Thank you Hiroshima! ♡ A quick rundown of my purchases : The mug from “Sanbashi Kamome”—it’s sure to bring a touch of joy to the dinner table. Lately, I’ve been drinking tea in soba cups—the portions are just right. A new favorite, now on the breakfast table, from “Piroreikki”—a Nordic tray—perfect for both the dinner table and stationery. From “Botanical Encyclopedia,” I discovered the purple of violets . From “Gemisch,” a heavy glass filled with Czech stories. I’m thinking about putting snacks in it or decorating it with a small candle. Thank you for watching! Have a nice day.
