【穴場】行ってびっくり!「関西」珍しいスポット8選

Let’s start with one of the most hidden power spots in the Kansai region. This shrine is famous for its “zero magnetic field.” A zero magnetic field is a state in which the magnetic forces of the north and south poles cancel each other out, resulting in the absence of magnetic force. This shrine apparently possesses a zero magnetic field. In Japan, the Bungui Pass in Nagano Prefecture, located directly above the Median Tectonic Line, one of Japan’s largest faults, is a famous example. The steps leading up to the main hall are said to be a place with a zero magnetic field. According to the head priest, placing a compass on the ground causes strange behavior. The needle points in a different direction. Try moving it to a different location and you’ll be amazed! It starts spinning around. A zero magnetic field is said to be a power spot that generates great energy. This temple allows you to enjoy the sounds of bell crickets year-round. You can also enjoy a sermon by the head priest. Admission is limited during the sermon. The beautiful sound is soothing. Snacks and tea are served. A 30-minute sermon follows. It’s a light-hearted, comedian-like 30-minute talk. It felt a bit commercial (lol), but it was uplifting and inspiring. A garden with a hint of autumn. This temple is affectionately known as “Suzumushi Temple,” but its official name is “Mt. Myotoku Kegon Temple.” The temple hopes that the sound of bell crickets will soothe the souls of many people, helping them move forward with confidence as they rebuild after the war . With this in mind, after 28 years of research, the temple finally made it possible to hear the sounds of bell crickets year-round. A century-old traditional Japanese house was renovated and “Neko Neko Temple” was established in 2016. Its name is Nyan Nyanji. While you might imagine a large cat population, there’s actually only one rescued cat. The paintings of cats fill the sliding doors. It’s an incredible worldview. A cat Buddha is enshrined here, and even a cat statue of Acala is featured. Looking up, you’ll see a painting of a cat on the ceiling. There are various merchandise available, making it a must-see for cat lovers. A limited-time exhibition is held in the basement. My last visit focused on the theme of “Ancient Cat Civilization.” The “300 Doyaneko and Adachi of the World” exhibition will run from September 3 to November 30, 2025. Previously exhibited cat artifacts are now on display at the nearby Cat History Museum. Nabekura Gorge is located at an elevation of approximately 450 meters. A 25-meter-wide, 650-meter-long black rock formation is spread across the valley. These black rocks are called hornblende gabbro. This landscape is extremely rare both topographically and geologically. Groundwater flows beneath the rocks. The faint sounds of the stream and the calls of wild birds are soothing. There’s an interesting spot near Nabekura Gorge, about 500 meters before. A Jizo statue stands quietly along a road in the deep mountains. A giant cedar tree stands in front of the shrine . It’s quite impressive. This is Shiose Jizo. The Jizo statue dates back to the Kamakura period. It features a Buddha statue on a 160-cm-tall stone. It is worshipped as a pilgrim to Ise Shrine and as the god of eyes. This hidden gem has also been used as a filming location for movies. There’s a small parking lot around the pond. Pass through here and head to the base of the cedars. While impressive from the lake, it’s also impressive from behind. The view of the pond from the cedar is also beautiful. While not flashy, the cedar stands quietly. Nishihama Shrine, built in 888, is a historic shrine on western Awaji Island. A path leads behind the shrine grounds to a power spot cave. The ocean is incredibly beautiful. The path continues behind the rocky mountain. Beyond this is Myojin Misaki Cave. It’s narrow, but you can easily get through. It’s a natural cleft in the rock, located in a path-like location. It’s said that passing through the cave will grant you a rebirth. From Wakaura Fishing Port, walk to the west coast. A retro tiled staircase. After about eight minutes of walking, you’ll see Horai Rock. Looking closely, you’ll see a very large hole. The footing is rough, but you can go around to the back. This isn’t just a mansion. In fact, it has a strong connection to the Kumano Kodo. How does that work? It’s said that this Suzuki residence is the root of the Suzuki surname found throughout Japan. The Suzuki clan was a powerful family in Kumano. During the Heian and Kamakura periods, when retired and retired emperors frequently made pilgrimages to Kumano, they served as guides for these pilgrimages. Using this as a base, they built 3,300 Kumano shrines across the country and spread Kumano faith. As members of the Suzuki clan settled wherever they were assigned, the Suzuki name became established throughout the country. This residence is the root of Suzukis across the country. ▲Please also take a look at “A Journey Around the Suzuki Residence and Kumano Kodo.” If you’re interested, I’ve included a link in the description. Many hidden gems in Wakayama are also featured. The spots introduced this time can be found here. Thank you for watching. I’d be happy if you could let me know of any hidden gems in the comments.
