【爆食い】日本人がほぼ行かない韓国の秘境『江陵市』で海鮮や松茸などグルメを堪能してきました
Okay, please board. I’m heading to Korea now. I go to Korea several times a year, maybe even monthly, but this time I’m going to a town called Kanu for the first time. I think there are probably a relatively small number of Japanese people who have been to Kanu or even know about it, but I’ve heard it’s an incredibly amazing place, so I decided to go and check it out. First , I flew from Centrair to Seoul International Airport on Korea’s leading airline, Air China. The interior was decorated with meat. It was delicious. The flight took just 1 hour and 40 minutes, less than 2 hours. We arrived in no time. So, I arrived at Incheon Airport Terminal 2 and completed immigration. It was pretty empty, so I was able to enter the country in no time. Sorry. My voice might be a little hard to hear because I have a sore throat, so please forgive me. So, I’m going to Seoul first, and then to Kanu, the theme of this video . I’ve been to Korea many times, but I’ve never been to Kanu . It’s on the Sea of Japan side, or over there. I’ve never been there, so it ‘s about a two-hour ride on the KTX from Seoul, so I first headed out to Seoul Station and headed there. So, for this video, I ‘m traveling with a female staff member who helps with my YouTube channel. She’s not fluent in Hangul, but she’s pretty good, so I thought I ‘d ask her to support me this time, and she ‘s also knowledgeable about Korea. Yes. She’s always helping out behind the scenes with video editing and planning, and while she probably won’t appear in the video much, I think this time we’ll take a tour of the area together . The main focus, of course, is food. I’m also looking forward to eating the pineapples and other things that Japanese people love, so I’d like to show you all that . Anyway, I’ve met up with my staff, so I’m heading to Seoul now. It ‘s about a 50-minute ride from the airport to Sobu Station. I’ve ridden it a few times before. From Jongno Station, I take the KTX, the one called [number]. It goes all the way to Kanu, so I’ll quickly transfer to that and probably arrive late at night. Yeah . So, that’s how it goes. And so, we’ve all arrived. I’m transferring to the KTX now. It’s arriving late at night, so it’s already a little early evening, around 7pm, so I’m hungry, so I’m going to buy some bread with my staff and eat it on the train. Anyway, I have about 50 minutes until my train , so I’ll kill time at a cafe. I bought some kind of girly bread. It’s been a long time since I last rode the KTX. It’s about two hours to the last stop. Off I go. I already booked my ticket. Um, this time, I reserved a seat, uh, first class. That said, it’s about 3,300 yen, or 33,000 yen. Surprisingly cheap. It’s a two-hour ride, and I think it’s considerably cheaper than the Japanese Shinkansen. I’ve been curious about this for a while, and I wanted to try a Korean ekiben (boxed lunch). I’ll give it a go. I bought this kimchi pork bowl. They also have bibimbap and other dishes. I’ve always dreamed of eating on the KTX. Eating it while riding . So, I bought my ekiben. I forgot I bought bread earlier. Well, I’ll prioritize eating the ekiben. I have two hours. It’s already 6:45 PM . We’ll arrive at Kannu around 9 AM. This is the train going to Kannu. This is my first time riding it. It’s cool. I’ve ridden this type of train before, but this is a TGV. This is my first time. This is a high-speed train car, manufactured in Korea by Rotem. So I got on. It even has a monitor. There’s no Japanese, of course. Only English. Okay. So, it’s two hours from here. It ‘s really clean. The restrooms are separated into men’s, women’s, and wheelchairs, and they’re spacious. Yeah. Like this. There’s plenty of legroom, too. This is where you charge your phone, right? You just plug it in here and it charges. I bought an ekiben (boxed lunch) at 8000-on a while ago, but it tilted a little and got all crumpled. Now, this smells like kimchi or something, but is it okay to eat it? It’s an ekiben, after all. There are other people eating it, so I think it’s okay. Luckily, I’m a travel staff member, so I might not be too much of a bother, and you might not like it, but I’m the only one eating it. Since they said they wouldn’t eat it, I’m a little hesitant. Anyway, I’m hungry, so I’ll eat it. Hey, it’s really hot inside the train. I’ll eat then. It’s so delicious, like this. The smell is awful. I feel kind of embarrassed because I’m the only one eating. Isn’t this amazing? You can watch YouTube. It’s so cool that you can watch YouTube on this screen on the train . I tried to watch it, but I couldn’t. There was no response. About half the passengers were in first class. It wasn’t that crowded. It seems there are trains, the Sol and the Kan-Nu, about once an hour. It’s easy to get to. We’re going for a day trip now. We’ll be stopping there this time. Next stop is Pyon-chan. I think it’s the place where the Olympics used to be. And then there’s Kan-Nu. We’re almost there. We’ll be arriving at Kan-Nu station soon. So, we’ve arrived. Kan-Nu. Now, um, I’m going to take a taxi straight to the hotel. That’s about it for today. There were quite a few people on board. The station is really beautiful. This is my first time here, and for some reason, there are a lot of people here, but it’s really stylish. The station is still new, I guess. There are a lot of shops too . I’m going out. Oh, there are a lot of cafes. There’s Idea Coffee and Mega Coffee. Yes. It’s nice. Surprisingly, it was more urban than I expected. Anyway, I’m going to head to the hotel now and check out more later. I’ll take a taxi to the hotel. SL Hotel SL SL SL So, it’s quite far from the station, about 20km, but I chose a place called SL Hotel. It has a vinyl record store and a pretty local feel, but I’ll stay here from now. So, I checked in and went to my room. Is this what the room looks like? Ah, it’s pretty nice. I thought there wouldn’t be many hotel options since it’s in the countryside, but there were quite a few. It’s outside the center , but it has a balcony. It’s a bit reflective, but it’s fine for sleeping. It’s actually a pretty nice hotel. It’s called the L Hotel. There’s no bathtub or toilet. Well, it does have a washlet. Yes. It’s nice and clean . Sorry. I’m exhausted from traveling today, so I’m just going to sleep. Tomorrow, as I’ve said many times before, I want to eat a lot, but that’s how it is , and I’ve already covered 23 tatami mats. I’ll go to bed early tonight, and tomorrow, I have about half a day and the next day, so I’ll get some time to get myself organized. Well, I’m here, so I want to enjoy it. Well, goodnight. Good morning. It’s the next morning. This is the view from the hotel. My room wasn’t quite on the ocean side, so this is all I can see of the city . Yes. It’s cool. Cooler than Seoul. It’s probably just before 8 o’clock now. The hotel serves breakfast, but I didn’t eat it this time. I’m going to a place called, er, I don’t know if it’s called Chimjinji, about a five-minute walk from the hotel. There are two big markets in Kanu, and I’m thinking of going to the central market a little later, but there’s also a fish market near the hotel, which is famous for squid, mackerel, and other seafood. It’s also a popular tourist destination. There’s delicious food there, and there are plenty of seafood restaurants in the area , so I’m thinking I’ll have breakfast there first. This hotel is great. It’s great. I’m still staying one more night. There’s a 7-Eleven right next door. There are surprisingly many stores. Lotteria and Baskin-Robbins are nice. I ‘ll head to the market for breakfast . There are plenty of convenience stores, too. The market is just up the road. It’s super close. It has a local feel , but they also have the usual mega coffee shops you’d find in the city, so it ‘s a good balance. I heard it’s popular with young people, so I’m pretty hungry. What should I eat? It’s up ahead. This one. There are sashimi restaurants and other seafood restaurants around here, too. Amazing. I think they probably cook it here too. Let’s buy some fish. Wow, that’s amazing. A huge king crab. It’s covered in crabs. I wonder how much it costs? The sea squirts are amazing. So, I guess I can eat the things I bought there. Apparently their opening hours are from 8am, but I’m here around 8am and there’s still no one there, so it’s a bit difficult to talk to anyone. I think I can eat it like this. This is mulhoe, right? Oh, this is mulhoe. So it’s 15,000 and 20,000 yen, oh, 15,000 and 20,000 yen . The side dishes are pretty expensive in Korea, aren’t they? Yeah. Wh-well, is this for takeout? It ‘s in front of Igor. Yeah. How many kilos do you want? The staff is asking me the price. Yeah, yeah. Ah. Yeah. 1kg. 1kg. Up to 1kg. Yeah. I just heard that king crab is about 1kg, one. It’s about 12,000 yen. It’s cheap at 120,000 yen, but since it’s not in season and it’s summer, it might not taste very good, or so the lady probably said. I’ll wait and see. It’s a lot bigger than I thought, and there’s a lot more. It’s a market street. Right now, I’m looking around the market, and there’s a delicious Mulfen restaurant that one of my staff members found. It’s a little far from this market, but I’m thinking I might go there. But I still want to see the market. There are so many different things. The things look delicious. There are so many delicious-looking restaurants . This is also a market. I can’t decide. There are a lot of mosquitoes here too. I always think of mosquitoes as a winter thing, but they can be caught here. This is nice. Amazing. Oh, it’s alive. I thought it would turn red if I boiled it. This is amazing. Um, what do you all think? Um, viewers, please check out this market, and, well, I, I, um, just going to the supermarket is fun, but isn’t it fun to look around a fish section like this? I really love it. It’s so red. It’s grainy. A huge amount. Wow, they let me touch it. I mean, I think there are a ton of restaurants around here, but I’m so hungry, everything looks delicious. Oh, they’re open, you know. Well, that’s how it was. First, a quick look. Anyway, as I said, I’m going to head to that delicious restaurant in Le Fe for a bite to eat. I think it’s about 7km from here. I’ll take an Ubber. The market is bigger than I expected, with lots of shops, and the people are so kind and always say hello, it’s really nice. I also like how there are a lot of coffee shops. There’s also that main coffee street, so I’m heading there. This is nice. I love coffee shops. And this is the squid monument, the town’s specialty. Don’t feed the squid. Now, off to the delicious Le Fe. It opens at 9am, so it’s a good time. So, I’m going to eat Negoha Muruhoe at this restaurant. They’re open now. Like I said, they open at 9am. There are quite a few restaurants around here, too . This is a nice place. It has a diner feel . So, I sat down and they said they only had three breakfast options: the flounder mulhoe, and I’m not sure what this is, but I ordered the young fish soup set meal. I ordered the famous flounder mulhoe, which is a soup with cold sashimi . The staff member said, “Oh, the young fish soup set meal.” This one is 12,000 yen, and this one is 20,000 yen. Well, it might be a reasonable price for breakfast, but, yeah, that’s about the price in Korea. But it looks incredibly delicious. It’s insane. It looks super delicious. It’s perfect for breakfast. There was more sashimi than I expected, all the way to the bottom of the bowl. That’s a huge amount. Considering that, it might be cheap. So, what does this soup taste like? For those who haven’t tried it , it’s very spicy , like the soup in a cold noodle dish, with a strong flavor. I think it’s similar to what we call hiyajiru in Japan. It comes with noodles, so you can mix it with the noodles, or you can eat it with rice . There’s also a ton of punchy flavors. It’s amazing. So , here ‘s the first meal from the can. Let’s start with the young me soup. It’s insanely delicious. The best I’ve ever had. Maybe it’s the stupid me soup. Oh, it’s delicious. I could drink this forever. This is mulhoe. I’ve only had it once. I’ve never had it properly. It comes with a mountain of ramyun sashimi. Delicious . There’s a ton of ice in it too. Delicious. It feels like summer Korean food. Delicious. Super delicious. It’s pretty spicy. Delicious. Goes well with rice. Delicious. The sashimi was also crunchy. Yes. Super good. So, it was incredibly delicious. It was the best breakfast ever. The portions of just the young prawn soup and ruffe were quite generous. There was a mountain of it. I wish we’d shared it with the staff. We ordered one each, but it was still a bit too much to eat. So, after this, I’m going to take a taxi to the famous Cafe Street to drink coffee. Yes. So, we’re on our way. We arrived in a kopishi. This is Kanu Coffee Street, an area right in front of the beach where stylish bakeries, cake shops, and coffee shops are concentrated . It’s especially popular with women, and Koreans come here on day trips to relax and enjoy delicious coffee. It’s a place that’s always featured in tourist guidebooks. The taxi driver I was in earlier recommended this coffee shop, and I ‘m on my way there now, but I’d like to take a look around inside, relax, and enjoy some delicious coffee. It’s not too hot. The refreshing breeze is just amazing. I love Mui’s bread. I want to eat some bread. There are so many high-end cafes. The ocean is also really beautiful. This is the famous spot where you get your photo taken in a coffee cup. The beach is so beautiful. It’s so beautiful. The ocean is blue, too. You’d expect it to be on the Sea of Japan side. Ah, it’s like this. There are so many stylish cafes. But there are also chain coffee shops, like Starbucks. Apparently Starbucks is crowded. I decided to go into this cafe for now. The view inside the cafe is amazing. There were no people there at all , it was practically empty. It was really nice. Even though we were on that coffee street, we didn’t order that coffee. Well, I ordered the Greek yogurt shake with Mago flavor, and the staff ordered the peach soda. It’s not related to coffee, but we just had to drink what we wanted , so we enjoyed the atmosphere of this coffee street while looking at the view. I would like to. Yes. Let’s go. Yes, there is. So, we’re near the market in the center of town. We’ve come to the most prosperous place near the Kan Central Market. As expected, there are a lot of people. There are a lot of shops. Let’s go a little further to the Central Market, er, the Market Market. Ah, it’s a full-fledged market. The last one was fish after all, but they have fried chicken and stuff. Ah, it looks delicious. That’s amazing acorn flour. According to our staff, their croquettes are famous, so I think it’s croquettes. We head straight to the croquette shop. Ah, everyone’s eating them. Let’s eat. Is this it? Apparently their croquettes are famous. I’ll buy one. So, this is the famous croquette at this shop. I got the cheese flavor. Oh, one is 3500 yen. Everyone’s buying one. Sorry then. I’ll have a bite. It looks seriously good. This is amazing. Let’s eat. Cool. Super good. This is the best thing I’ve eaten today. Isn’t it super delicious? It’s delicious. Delicious. Yes. Amazing. Super delicious. Oh, I’m going to go here, it’s more exciting than I thought it would be, and it’s fun. Everyone is eating croquettes, or johns, or squid. Sorry. Um, this has nothing to do with Kanu, but I just had a craving for mulberry, so I won. One of these is 1,000 yen. Wow, delicious. Lunch is the best. Super delicious. Takaji is popular too, so I’ll buy some. Takaji. Yeah. It’s been a while since I had it. Delicious. Nice. This market, or rather, street food, is bigger than I thought it would be, and it’s interesting. Personally, I really like it. They sell a lot of Karu’s alcohol and stuff. Well, they also sell a lot of goods. It has a real sense of everyday life, like dried squid, which is interesting. Okay, let’s do it. It’s more of a town than I thought it would be. I’m really surprised, but what do you think? It looks like that Ichijin Pun that I used to go to a lot. It’s a little rundown. There are quite a few shops scattered all the way down to the street. It’s so popular. And I wouldn’t say it’s popular, but there are a lot of people there. So I walked around a bit, and it was a typical shopping street, so I was able to eat the famous croquettes and some home-delivered café, which was pretty satisfying. I was a little tired from walking, so we decided to go in, and now we’re looking for a cafe. It’s kind of hard to describe, there are more autumn tenants. It might be tough. Anyway, we’re off to the cafe now. We’re going to a cafe that one of our staff found. We’re going to this cafe, a sort of Showa-era cafe called Time Slip . It’s a really Showa-era place. A cafe with a really unique atmosphere. It’s a cafe with a really unique atmosphere. It’s common to see these kinds of places. Complete Master. It’s stylish. It’s amazing. This is huge. It’s not stingy. I ordered a melon cream soda. What was it called? This is lemon. Lemon something. And this is that. It’s bad luck. It’s a sign of bad luck. Yes. It’s here. This was surprisingly cheap. With this, the cream soda is 6,800 yen, and this is about 6,000 yen. I was surprised that it was cheaper and had more volume than the chain stores around here. Excuse me. Um, this old man is having a melon cream soda by himself. Yes. Um, the staff are here. It’s good. It has a nostalgic taste. Delicious. The size is big, which is nice. Mmm. Delicious. It’s delicious. Anyway, I just took a short break at the cafe, but the main reason we came to the museum this time was to eat Matsuta’s pizza, which was our main theme. So, we’re going to go eat it now. Well, we just had lunch, but it feels like we want to eat it again. I’m asking the taxi driver to take us to Matsuta’s pizza place now. Together. The Yogi-Ka soldiers are here. So, this is a place like a stylish cafe where you can eat pizza in town. Since that’s my goal for today, I’d like to go. I’m looking forward to it. The inside of the restaurant is super stylish. They actually brew beer here. Like this. Hey, neither of us can drink a drop of alcohol , so we can’t drink beer, but we ordered Matsu pizza and, er, the restaurant’s specialty sausage. It’s so good. It’s amazing, isn’t it? They have all the equipment inside. This is a really authentic German restaurant. So, we ordered Matsu pizza. Isn’t it amazing? It’s got a ton of pine. The aroma, too, is a bit like truffle. And here’s the restaurant’s specialty sausage. It’s handmade. Yeah. This was kind of the main theme of today . Looks good. This is my first time eating Matsu pizza. Okay then. Amazing. Looks super good. Let’s eat. Mmm. Absolutely delicious. The crunchy texture and aroma of these pine nuts is amazing. Wow, so delicious. I’ll try the homemade sausages then. They look super tasty. So delicious. So delicious. These sausages. Yeah. Really German. The fries are also super tasty. What do you think? Are they good? That was great. That was my main reason for coming. This is the pizza made by that staff member’s master. The price is, well, it’s pretty big. It’s a large portion, 29,000 yen, which is about 3,000 yen. With that amount of pine nuts , isn’t it pretty good? Yeah. I think it’s a little too much for about three people, maybe a little too much for two. I thought this was a little too much, though. Well, I ordered this because it looked delicious. I mostly just come to see and eat , but there’s a lot of delicious food there. I’m sure it’s a popular place. There are a few foreigners here too . I think I went to that cafe street once more today. There were some Japanese people there, but it seemed like there were a lot of young Korean people there. So , we returned to the hotel, and there was a rooftop bar on top of the hotel . It had a pretty cool vibe, and we were kind of tired from all the activity today, so we decided to relax and chat around there . Oh, it’s nice. It’s like a world of Ta. Oh, it’s stylish. It’s nice to chill in a place like this. There’s also this bar, and it seems you can order drinks. Wow, the view is beautiful. You can see the whole beach. Ah, it’s nice. The wind’s a little strong, though. But it’s lukewarm, so it’s not cold at all. That’s nice. Well, we’ll have one last drink at the rooftop bar, which is practically reserved for us, and then we’ll call it a day. Both of us are normal calls. This isn’t alcohol. Well, good work. Good work. Let’s eat. Ah, it’s delicious. That concludes our day here. Good morning. It’s the next morning. Well, that marks the end of my stay at the museum, and I’m heading back to Seoul. I’ll stop by there for a quick breakfast at a famous seungjum restaurant, which is delicious. I’ll stop by for a bite, then head back to Seoul by train. Then, there’s a place called Seungjum Village, and I’ve heard the seungjum there is amazing, so I’ll just eat that before heading back. So, Seungjum Village, the whole area is just full of seungjum restaurants, and there’s a pretty long line, even in the morning. It’s amazing. They make tofu right next to the tofu factory. Apparently, the tofu they make is brought straight to the restaurant, so you can eat it hot and fresh. So, I’m going to go in and enjoy it. So, I went in. It was super crowded this morning. I ordered some subu and a tofu dish. Hey everyone, it’s morning! It ‘s only 8:53, but it’s amazing. Wow, it’s huge. Tofu. This is it. It’s like hia tofu. You eat it with sauce. It was ready about a minute after I sat down. This is the seafood tofu. I think it’s one note. This tofu costs 6,000 yen . It’s quite a lot. Yes. It also comes with rice. There’s a chance it’s self-service and you can take as much as you want. It looks super delicious. Unlike regular sambu, the tofu is more like oboro tofu. Apparently it’s delicious. There’s also lots of chives in it, which looks really good. That looks really good. The plum flavor is nice. The air is really good. The rice is also kind of zakkoku kibiki, I think? It has this thing in it. Yeah. It’s definitely true. The tofu is freshly made, piping hot, and there’s a tofu factory next door. It’s so chewy! It looks delicious. I dip this in this and then dip it in the sauce. Delicious. It’s a little different from Japanese tofu, but it really does have a bean flavor. This is good. Honestly, it was absolutely delicious. That line is so juicy. It had squid, mussels, and clams in it , and the broth was really strong. The tofu was smooth, but a bit like Okinawan tofu, and quite spicy. I think they probably had a non-spicy version on the menu, so maybe they had a white tofu section? They did. Anyway, it’s amazing, and even on a weekday morning, the place is packed with customers. My staff there looked it up and said it was definitely worth visiting, so I came, and it was seriously delicious. This is the best tofu I’ve had recently. I think it’s worth a day trip from Seoul. I don’t even know what flavors they have at Sudip. Well, today’s gelato and homochi , I don’t know, but I have a sweet tooth, so the staff ordered them. Right now, I ordered subu gelato and tomorokoshi gelato. The price for the two is, uh, 9000 yen. 900 yen. Yes. It’s like this. Corn-flavored gelato and subu flavored, uh, gelato. Women have a slightly more delicate palate than mine, so I’ll ask them how it tastes. Right now, this is subu flavor. Hmm . Delicious. Yeah. Smooth. Oh, it’s kind of like soy milk. It tastes like soy milk. Is that so? Sorry. And this is corn. When was number one, number two ? Yep, yeah, it’s delicious, it’s delicious, it’s good, this might be even better, I prefer tofu, I get it, it’s beautiful, thank you, it wasn’t sunbu, the corn is really good, the tofu is really good , ah, I think it’s tofu. And this is subu. Oh, sumo is also good. It actually has a strong tofu flavor. The staff just laughed at me, but the word “subu” sounds like “subu,” and I thought the name of the dish was “subu.” Seungsubu means tofu in Korean. I thought it would be spicy because it tastes like “subu.” When I asked, “Does “seungsubu” mean tofu?”, they burst out laughing, and I realized how nonsensical I was. Yes. But it’s delicious. After eating this, I’ll head to Nu Station. So, that was it, this quick trip to Kanu, and I had a great time. I mostly just ate, but seriously, the food is delicious. Like I said before, you can come to Kanu for a day trip, eat whatever you want, or stay overnight and explore the area, trying different things. Another great thing was Chi. The coffee street on the beach, the cafe street. It’s really laid back, with lots of stylish cafes, delicious coffee, delicious drinks, and it was great. The food throughout the city is of high quality. The people are also kind and it’s cheaper than Seoul . I think that’s all there is to it. So, if you have the time, if you’re tired of traveling in Seoul, I recommend Kannu, it only takes 2 hours, so I think it’s worth going. So, this time, I made a video with my staff to promote Kannu, so I hope you’ll find it useful. I highly recommend it. That’s all . If you enjoyed this video, please leave your thoughts on it in the comments , and please rate it highly and subscribe to the channel. Thank you for watching .
