Um, way deeper than I thought they would go to be honest. I thought they were going to be much more shallow. Pretty spectacular. Yeah. And even being here middle of the week. I mean, it was pouring today. I’m actually shocked at how many people are here. Yeah, it was probably about half a dozen people total, but we were in there mostly alone. So, it’s pretty awesome. From September 28 to November 24, 2024, the Forest Art Festival: Okayama, Land of Sunshine transforms Makido into an art gallery, showcasing works by renowned photographer and film director Mika Ninagawa—talk about a visual feast! 🎨
Fun Fact: Makido Caves served as a filming location for the 1977 movie Yatsuhakamura, adding a cinematic vibe to its already magical allure. Located in Niimi City at 2276-2 Akauma, Toyonaga, it’s just a 20-minute drive from Kitaboso IC or 30 minutes from Niimi IC on the Chugoku Expressway. Prefer public transit? Hop on a bus from JR Ikura Station (38 minutes) to the final stop. Parking is plentiful with space for 150 cars and 10 buses. Admission is 1,000 yen for adults, 800 yen for junior high students, 500 yen for elementary students, and free for kids under elementary school age. The cave is open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM).

年間を通じて15℃の安定した温度を保つ満奇洞は、夏は涼しく、冬は快適な避難所です。比較的平坦な地形で、約30分の探検が楽しめますが、狭い場所では頭上に注意!👀 湿った通路はよく整備されていますが、頑丈な靴は必須です。2024年9月28日から11月24日まで開催される森のアートフェスティバル:岡山、陽光の地では、満奇洞がアートギャラリーに変身し、著名な写真家・映画監督の蜷川実花の作品が展示されます。まさに視覚の祭典!🎨
豆知識:満奇洞は1977年の映画「八つ墓村」のロケ地としても使用され、すでに魔法のような魅力に映画的な雰囲気を加えています。新見市豊永赤馬2276-2に位置し、中国自動車道北大房ICから車で20分、または新見ICから30分です。公共交通機関をご利用の場合、JR井倉駅からバスで38分、終点で下車してください。駐車場は150台の車と10台のバスに対応。入場料は大人1,000円、中学生800円、小学生500円、小学生未満は無料。開洞時間は午前8時30分から午後5時まで(最終入洞は午後4時30分)。
