Japan 1minute Travel 青森 深浦 千畳敷（AOMORI Fukaura）夜明け前の千畳敷。靄と光が道標となり、太宰が隣を歩いていた。
ここは、青森県深浦町の千畳敷。
一般的にはJR五能線・千畳敷駅の海岸がよく知られていますが、私が立ったのはそこから少し東に寄った場所。夕景の美しさで名高い千畳敷ですが、この日は夜明け前。
どうやら私は、天邪鬼らしい。
この日の夜明け前の海は、かすかな靄に包まれていました。
水平線の向こうで、太陽がゆっくりと滲むように姿を現す。幾重もの薄衣をまとっているかのようで、その輪郭はまだ曖昧。光だけが海と空の境界を溶かしていきます。
千畳敷の天然海水プールは波の音を吸い込みながら、その水面を空の鏡とし、走る雲の影までも映しとっていました。雲は風に追われるように形を変え、やがて陽の光を受けて淡く輝く。その光景は、ただそこに在るだけで、言葉よりも深く、心に沁みこんでいきました。
今回の津軽の撮旅は、不思議と太宰治と歩いているような感覚になりました。
意識したわけではないのに、訪れる先々が太宰に縁のある土地だったのです。
深浦町では「ふかうら文学館」、小泊では「小説津軽の像記念館」、外ヶ浜、そして五所川原では「太宰治記念館・斜陽館」。
行こうと決めたわけでもないのに、気づけば辿り着いていました。
まるで、太宰治に手を引かれ、津軽の海と空を案内してもらったように思えてなりません。
This is Senjojiki in Fukaura Town, Aomori Prefecture.
Most people know the coastline near JR Gono Line’s Senjojiki Station, but I stood at a spot a little farther to the east. Senjojiki is famed for its beautiful sunsets, yet on this day, it was just before dawn.
I suppose I’m a bit of a contrarian.
That morning, the sea before dawn was wrapped in a faint mist.
Beyond the horizon, the sun slowly emerged, as if seeping into view. Its outline was still blurred, as though veiled in layer upon layer of gossamer, and only its light melted the boundary between sea and sky.
Senjojiki’s natural seawater pool absorbed the sound of the waves, turning its surface into a mirror for the sky, capturing even the shadows of clouds racing overhead. The clouds shifted shape, chased by the wind, and eventually glowed faintly in the morning light. That sight, existing there so quietly, sank into my heart more deeply than any words could.
This journey through Tsugaru felt, in a strange way, as though I were walking alongside Osamu Dazai.
I hadn’t planned it, yet every place I visited turned out to be connected to him—
the Fukaura Literary Museum in Fukaura, the Tsugaru Statue Memorial Hall in Kodomari, Sotogahama, and the Osamu Dazai Memorial Museum “Shayokan” in Goshogawara.
I never decided to seek them out, yet somehow I found myself there—
as if Osamu Dazai himself had taken my hand and guided me through the seas and skies of Tsugaru.
