【穴場の隠れ宿】山間に佇む古民家造りの一軒宿。これは別格!秘密にしておきたい穴場の秘湯と美食。新平湯温泉旅館「松宝苑」 / 岐阜県観光スポット
Located in the forest just outside the hot spring town, this place exudes charm, tranquility, and inner peace. Built over 100 years ago, this inn is built in a traditional Japanese house. “Shohoen” is a ryokan in Shin Hirayu Onsen, Oku-Hida Onsen Village . Press the subtitle or CC button to enjoy full subtitles. Hello everyone, this is Watatabi. This time, I’m staying at a ryokan nestled in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture. The inn is located a short distance from the popular hot spring town. It’s located in Takayama City, in the Hida region in northern Gifu Prefecture. I’ll be staying at “Shohoen,” a traditional Japanese house in Shin Hirayu Onsen, Oku-Hida Onsen Village. I’m looking forward to discovering what kind of inn it is. Before I knew it, I was at an altitude of over 1,200 meters, immersed in nature. As the greenery deepens, I’m excited to imagine what kind of scenery awaits me. Passing through several tunnels, my sense of adventure stirred, I head to my first destination: Hirayu Falls in Hirayu Onsen. A ropeway? Skiing, perhaps? What do you think? This is it. We’ve arrived. We’ve arrived. Coming from the opposite side of the road, you’ll see a beautiful view as you descend from a high altitude. The temperature here is only 20 degrees, so it’s incredibly cool. I think the high temperature in Osaka is probably around 36 or 37 degrees, but here it’s only around 30 degrees. I think the altitude is around 1,250 meters. It might be a little higher. This is Asiatic black bear habitat, and since it’s a very famous tourist spot with many visitors, I don’t think you’ll see many bears, but I think it’s necessary to take some precautions. I want to go see the waterfall. You can already see the waterfall from the parking lot. Since you can see it, it’s not that far. Wow, it’s incredibly cool. It might even be a little chilly. There are lots of very rugged rocks. It ‘s quite impressive. Amid the majestic scenery surrounded by the Northern Alps, a waterfall appears, splashing water. This is it. Hirayu Falls is one of Hida’s three most famous waterfalls, with a drop of 64 meters and a width of 6 meters. This waterfall is 6 meters wide and has a drop of 64 meters, making it one of the three most famous waterfalls in Hida. Apparently , if you visit around February, the waterfall is frozen, but it’s also lit up. It’s amazing. A flood of visitors came all at once. This is a very popular waterfall. Up ahead, there are many popular tourist destinations, such as Oku-Hida Onsenkyo and Fukuji Onsen, so it seems to be crowded here as well. It was absolutely amazing. The impact is on a whole other level when you drop over 50 meters. It’s so popular that tour buses come. I’m glad I came early. It was a really beautiful waterfall. But the tour buses and the visitors all came too. It got hot inside the car in an instant. Our next destination is right there. We’re being tailgated, tailgated. We’re being tailgated. Life isn’t fun if you rush through it like that. There’s no need to be so close. This is it. Oh! The parking lot is full. This is the oldest hot spring resort in the Oku-Hida Onsen area, nestled in the mountains at an elevation of over 1,200 meters. It has a calm, rustic atmosphere, yet is also charming. There are over 20 accommodations, with over 40 hot springs in total. The local specialty is “Hantai Tamago,” a hot spring egg with a firm yolk and a soft-boiled white. I’ve never tried it, so if they sell it, I’d like to. I ‘d like to stay at this hot spring resort someday and introduce it to you, so I won’t wander around the surrounding area. The reason I stopped by this time was because it’s a convenient hot spring. Right here is the “Kai” resort of Hoshino Resorts. It’s called “Kai Oku-Hida.” It’s a very popular hot spring resort, thanks to the Hoshino Resorts. There’s a foot bath here, so I’ll take a dip. There’s a strong smell of iron and a slight hint of rotten eggs. The spring water is quite hot. I dipped my left foot in the footbath, and then, with such momentum, ended up soaking my foot in my pants. Lol . This appears to be the Toyosaka Family Residence. The thatched roof is like a forest. This is the popular open-air bath. There are lots of old tools here. This area gets heavy snow, so there are skis and sleds. I’m not sure what era the skis are from, though. This is it. There are a lot of customers. This is the men’s bath, and over there is the women’s. Is that the restaurant beyond the women’s bath? This is the restaurant. It’s still under construction. It seems you can also enter this thatched-roof building. I’ll take a look. What is this building? They sell bottled cola. Is it a rest area? I’ve bathed here once, and it’s a hot spring characterized by its brown water, high in iron. The water is a bicarbonate and chloride spring. There’s a ticket box here. You can put 300 yen in and bathe freely. There were so many customers that I couldn’t take a picture, but I went for a bath. The water was incredibly good. It’s so good, customers just keep coming in one after the other. It’s a very popular open-air bath. There’s a souvenir shop right there, so I’ll stop by. That building you can see right in front of me is it. Apparently parking is free here for up to 90 minutes. I don’t think there was anything like this when I was here before. This is “Alps Kaido Hirayu.” There’s a bus terminal next door, and it’s packed with customers. Lots of foreign visitors, I see. They’re dressed like mountain climbers, so I wonder if there’s a mountain they can climb? That’s interesting. This is the first time I’ve seen souvenirs like this. I went to look for souvenirs, and since Nagano Prefecture is right there, there were lots of souvenirs from Nagano and Gifu. There were lots of souvenirs I’d never seen before, like wasabi chocolate and sansho chocolate. Speaking of Gifu, there’s “Meiho Ham.” This is a Nagano souvenir, but it’s dried apples. It has nothing to do with Nagano or Gifu, but I bought some lemon slices. There are so many tourist spots around here. Just a little further away, you’ll find Sawando Onsen, Shirahone Onsen, Fukuji Onsen, Okuhida Onsen, and Shinhotaka Onsen. I wonder if there are people who buy this and devour it whole in their cars? lol This ham is really firm and has a great texture. It’s a shame they didn’t have any “Hantai Tamago” (flip flop eggs). Near the inn where I’m staying tonight, there’s a B-class spot called “Shinobu Sabo Dam” with no obvious attractions, so I’d like to stop by. There’s a bear ranch there, too. I’m curious, so I’ll go to the bear ranch. Since I’m not adventuring this time, I’ll stick to a more conventional tourist spot. It’s 26 degrees now, and it’s pretty warm. 26 degrees during the day is quite cool. I saw a sign for the bear ranch. This is it. Today’s event is “Taking commemorative photos with a baby bear.” I haven’t often featured places like this in videos, and I’m not sure if it fits the channel’s genre, but I was curious, so I’ll go. There are a lot of visitors. I wonder if it’s popular? I arrived. I wasn’t planning on going, but I decided to check out this bear park. I actually wanted to go on an adventure, but I’ve already recommended a lot of places around here, so I decided to come here. I’ll buy a ticket. Bear oil? Apparently it’s effective for burns, rough hands, and atopic dermatitis. There are lots of bear-related goods for sale. Isn’t this something to look at later? Yes, later. But it’s intriguing. I’ll buy the souvenirs later and go see the bears first. I’ll buy the “Bear Power Drink” later. The entrance to the bear park seems to be at the top. Wow! A polar bear! Oh, by the way, admission was 1,100 yen per adult. This might be my first time seeing a polar bear. It would be really scary to encounter one like this. Um… we’ve climbed quite high. The entrance is this way. It sounds like a dog. I bought some bear food. It was 100 yen. It seems like there are various feeding experiences. There are bears. They’re waiting downstairs, so cute. Bears are so cute. I tried feeding them. The food smelled very grassy. There’s a brown bear over here, so maybe there used to be one here. Apparently you can take photos with the baby bear, and the time is up in five minutes, so I decided to take a look around first. It looked like this. I took a photo with the baby bear. They asked me to keep my hands apart, so I couldn’t take a video, but I was able to take a commemorative photo for 1,000 yen. It was so cute. I fed it with my right hand, and it was breathing really hard. It was so cute. It’s so slow. It went slowly to get the food. Oh! Look! It was saying, ” Give me some, give me some.” Apparently each bear has a name, but I can’t tell which is which. The shop seems to be closed during the break. I had a great time. There were about five bear booths, and it was a place where you could have fun feeding the bears. Unfortunately, it seems there are no brown bears there now. Only Asiatic black bears can be seen here. It was quite interesting. The bears made gestures as if they wanted food, and each one was unique and very cute. I imagine it would be incredibly scary to actually encounter a bear in the wild. It suddenly got really hot. This is a souvenir. It’s a Sarubobo, a bear Sarubobo. (Sarubobo is an ancient doll from the Hida region of Gifu Prefecture.) I also bought this as a souvenir. The store clerk highly recommended it, so I bought it. It’s cold, so I’ll drink it. The smell is a little strong. It smells like a mix of energy drink and something else. It’s a bit peculiar. It tastes like the energy drinks you can buy everywhere. It wasn’t particularly strong. It tastes like a soft drink. If you come to Bear Ranch, give it a try. Now, let’s head on. Our destination is about 7 minutes away, and our lodging is about 5 minutes from there. This video turned out to be a bit heartwarming, but please bear with me. Is this it? Ah, this is it. We’ve arrived. Apparently there’s a waterfall over here called “Taruma Falls,” but I think it’s an artificial one, so I’ll go and check it out. Over here, there’s a place called “Taruma no Yakata.” It’s a resting place. Is it up here? Closed. This one’s locked. The waterfall is over here. What kind of nut is this? I’ve never seen anything like it. There’s a waterfall over there, and it seems you can go underneath it. The entrance is over here. Let’s go right away. The “Erosion Control Gallery Tunnel Illumination Princess Taruma” makes a really loud noise. Wow, it’s cool. It’s incredibly cool inside. Amazing. And the tunnel is really long. Is it on camera? It’s incredibly impressive. It’s so powerful it’s almost frightening. What is this? There are lots of votive plaques. What on earth is this? So that’s the only place you can see the waterfall. It dead-ends here. It dead-ends here. The waterfall was so loud I’m not sure if there was audio, but it was more impressive than I expected. Well, um… I just wanted to enjoy the backside of the waterfall…lol. It was a place like this. : It’s a very B-grade spot where no customers ever come, but it was surprisingly impressive. I was right below this. It looks amazing from here, but even more impressive up close. It’s a very peaceful place. Now, let’s head towards the inn. It’s right there. It’s around here. This way . We’ve arrived . This is the inn called “Shohoen.” We’ll check in right away. The building itself is over 100 years old and has a lot of charm. I ‘m really looking forward to it. The front desk is on the left as you enter through the entrance. This seems to be the dining area. There seems to be a second floor, so let’s take a look. The second floor of the front desk is a relaxing space like this. Is this the dining area? The second floor of the front desk looks like this. It’s incredibly spacious. This is a courtyard. I think the building directly ahead is the large public bath. I’ll take a look at it later. You can also relax in the courtyard. I want to head towards my room for tonight. It’s very stylish. What is this? This is the guest room. There are toilets and vending machines here. The room I’ll be staying in tonight is on your left if you go straight ahead. This room is called “Hanada.” Let ‘s go in. The entrance looks like this. This is the room. The futon is kept behind this sliding door. The door right at the entrance is the toilet. This is the toilet. It’s an 8-tatami room like this. There’s heating over here and air conditioning over there. Over here is a TV and safe. Here you’ll find yukata, towels, and amenities. Bath towels and hand towels. There are plain face towels with no printing on them. Inside this toilet is a hair dryer. They’ve also provided a basket. It’s a simple room like this. It said this room has a moon-viewing platform, and I think that’s what they mean. You can view the courtyard like this. On the left is the sink. There’s a sink and a refrigerator. Ah, it looks like this. It’s so surrounded by nature that it’s hard to believe it’s a courtyard. The Tsukimidai space is quite spacious. There’s only one chair, so only one person can relax. This is a map of the inn. There’s a parking lot around here, and this is the entrance. The dining area is immediately to the right as you enter the entrance. The front desk is on the left. My room is on the left; turn right at the end of the hallway and go straight down the hallway. I thought I might get lost, but the map shows the inn’s interior is simple. Just over here from my room is a private open-air bath called “Enishi no Yu.” I’ll try that later. This is the large public bath called “Nodoka no Yu.” There are three hot springs within the 10,000-tsubo (approx. 10,000 square meters) property, and the water flowing into the bathtub is natural hot spring water that isn’t diluted with water. The water quality is sodium bicarbonate. It seems to be open 24 hours a day. Check-in at this inn begins at 2:00 PM. Check-out is at 10:00 AM. Dinner begins at 6:00 PM. Breakfast begins at 8:00 AM. This is tea. They served tea and sweets. They were called Oku-Hida Kenbunroku and are a famous Oku-Hida confectionery. The inside looks like this. It’s very soft. It looks like a large, mashed Pai no Mi. I cut it in half. It’s filled with mochi. The dough is filled with bean paste and mochi. It smells like kaitenyaki or taiyaki . It’s just the right amount of sweet and is delicious. The mochi inside is a nice accent. If I see it as a souvenir, I’ll buy it. Now, I’d like to go to the private open-air bath. Turn left at the end of this road. There are two private baths. First, I’ll take a look at the bath on the right. This one is also open 24 hours a day. The inside looks like this and is very tasteful. This is what it looks like when you turn on the light. Isn’t it amazing? It’s the best. There is no air conditioning or fan here. I’ll take a look at the bath. It’s really good! It looks like this. It’s a natural hot spring with water directly from the source. There’s a valley right there, and all you can hear is the sound of the flowing river and the birds singing. This is where the hot spring gushes out. Body soap and shampoo are provided here. The hot spring ingredients are all over the water. The water is colorless and transparent, with the hot spring ingredients floating in the air. It has the unique smell of a hot spring. The sunlight shines in, and it feels so good. Soaking in a hot spring while enjoying forest bathing is the best. It’s absolutely the best. The open-air bath, which is great to use on rainy days, also looks great. Let’s take a look at this private open-air bath. This is what it looks like. It’s like the bath over there has been flipped over. The bathtub looks like this. The private bath on the right was difficult to get in because of the rough rocks, but this one is easier to get in. I think the view outside is better from the bath on the right. The large public bath is here. There’s a walkway, so you can get to the large public bath without getting wet, even on rainy days. This is it. This is “Nodoka no Yu.” The women’s bath is on the right and the men’s on the left. This is what it looks like when you go to the large public bath from this courtyard. It’s incredibly charming, isn’t it? There’s a road right next to it, so unfortunately, you can hear the sounds of cars. I also take a dip in the large public bath. It ‘s absolutely amazing! This is the changing room, and right there is the bathtub. Beyond this bathtub is the open-air bath. It’s amazing. This is the washroom. It’s made of glass, so if you come in the winter, you can enjoy the hot spring while watching the snow. Now, I’m off to enjoy the hot spring. I took a bath. This large public bath was truly amazing. The water quality is the same as the private bath, but the indoor bath was a little hotter. I think it was around 42 degrees. The private bath is rarely used, but after going to the large public bath, I understood why. It ‘s really nice. The bathtub was very tasteful and atmospheric. I’ll relax in my room until dinner time. It’s 6 o’clock, so I head to the dining area. Dinner was like this, and incredibly stylish. This is my first time eating catfish sashimi. I’ll start with the catfish. If you had n’t told me it was catfish, I wouldn’t have known. It feels more like a sea fish than a river fish. This is seared local chicken. Delicious. When I had it in Kyushu, the sauce had a strong flavor, but the soy sauce makes it easier to eat. The soup is piping hot. It’s delicious, it tastes like earthenware pot. The food just keeps coming. This is grilled salted rock trout. It’s amazing. It’s so thick. This is Hida beef roast beef. They said it’s seasoned. Delicious! It’s so thick, but you don’t need to bite through it. This is the best roast beef I’ve ever eaten. This is cold chawanmushi. It’s packed with so many ingredients. It’s so delicious. Cheese tofu? It really is cheese tofu. It really tastes like cheese. Delicious. This is Hida beef. There’s miso in the middle. It looks so delicious. This is Hida beef. It was incredibly tender. Hida beef isn’t greasy. They say Hida beef doesn’t make you feel heavy. I ended up eating only vegetables. I felt like a rabbit. They offer a “Moderate Hida Beef Course” and a “Full Hida Beef Course,” and this is the full course. The food here is plentiful. More food arrived. It’s a pretty big portion. Even the green tea soba. I’m completely full. Thank you for the meal. They laid out the futon for me. They even closed the curtains. I ate the meal, and it was delicious. I eat a normal amount, but I was completely full. People who drink alcohol might not be able to finish it all. Every dish was delicious, but the roast beef was the best. The moment I left my room, I could smell the hot springs. I want to take a private bath. It’s in the mountains, so it gets cold at night. 24-hour access is truly luxurious. I’m in. I’ll relax in my room and then go to bed. Good morning. Before I knew it, I was asleep. I’d like to go take a morning bath. It’s the best. It’s getting a little lighter. It’s now past 4:30 in the morning. It’s such a luxury to be able to take a bath early in the morning, regardless of the time. The open-air bath was lukewarm, so I went to the large public bath. I’ve had a bath. It’s light outside now. It’s 8 o’clock, so we’re heading for breakfast. It’s amazingly beautiful weather. Breakfast looks like this. It’s amazingly beautiful weather. I had breakfast. The portion was just right. They had some Gifu Prefecture specialty “Meiho Ham,” and it was delicious. I’m about to check out, but at this inn, you barely encounter any staff. After checking in, you can enjoy the hot springs, relax on the moon-viewing platform, and do whatever you like. You can also bathe in the hot springs late at night, so even if you check in late, you can still enjoy the hot springs. The staff member was also very clever and incredibly funny. I was curious about the price: 35,700 yen for two adults, one night with two meals. It seemed like the price fluctuated depending on the day of the week. If you want to enjoy Hida beef, I recommend the Hida Beef Course. If you’re a heavy drinker, I recommend the Moderate Hida Beef Plan and enjoy your drinks at your leisure. The private bath was nice, but the large public bath was really great. I can totally see why the private bath doesn’t get many guests. The dinner portions were quite generous, there was a courtyard inside the hotel, there was a private bath, the large public bath was really nice, and you could use it whenever you wanted during your stay, so I think it was a good price. This time I stayed at Shohoen in Okuhida Onsenkyo, Gifu Prefecture. What did you think? I was able to enjoy the surrounding tourist spots and the hot springs, which was great. Now it’s time to check out. I’ve checked out. It’s in the mountains, so it’s a bit chilly. I’m sure it will get hot quickly once the sun comes out, though. How was your trip? See you in the next video! Thank you for watching until the end.

Dziękuję Ci za film. Wizyta u niedźwiedzi SUPER 😉 Zajazd ma swój urok i klimat. Urocze miejsce.
Sugoi!!! Mechakucha yasui desu, ano ryokan. We need to find the cheapest car rental company in Japan to visit many of the places you show in your videos. We used Orix when we went to Amami island. Do you have any recommendations?🙏
❤❤❤
Your wonderful videos make me equal parts excited to go back to Nihon and also sleepy relaxed…..thank you for your work. 😊
Hirayu Falls are beautiful – it'd be great to see them frozen & lit up. I think the bears would be happier in the mountains where they belong & are they carp or goldfish at 27:18? Fantastic colour!
I like the Inn & that's a nice outdoor bath with all the nature around it 👍😊
もう晩夏か、なんだか涼しさの水位を超えたような気がします。 ところで熊公園というのがあるんですね。
それにしても迷って結局'熊力'を買ってしまったんですね! おじさんたちにはなぜか惹かれる飲み物です。😁😄
Thank you very much for your new video and for the interesting story.
