【福岡県 溝口竈門神社】境内には「鬼滅の刃」とのつながりがあちこちに!まさに聖地!近くには恋柱の聖地も♡
Hello everyone! This is the Tocomama Information Bureau. Today, we’re in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Every summer and New Year’s, my family visits my husband’s hometown of Fukuoka. We visit various shrines throughout Kyushu, including Fukuoka, but this time, I’m visiting a shrine I’ve always wanted to visit. Actually, I’m a huge fan of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. ” Long-time readers of this Tocomama Information Bureau know this, but it’s been about four years now. After watching “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train ,” I became completely hooked , and ever since, this is a shrine I’ve always wanted to visit. It’s called Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine . If you’re a Demon Slayer fan, you’ve probably heard of it or even visited it. There are several Kamado shrines throughout Kyushu and the rest of Japan , but among them, Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine is one that fans whisper is deeply connected to the series . So why is that so? I’d like to introduce Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine while exploring this area in more depth . The currently released “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc (Part 1)” is a huge hit, following “Mugen Train Arc”! It’s breaking box office records! I’ve already seen it three times, and each time I’m more moved and want to see it again! It’s such an amazing movie. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba sacred sites are now scattered across the country, and fans enjoy pilgrimages to these sacred sites. One of these sacred sites is Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine. Surrounded by nature and greenery, there’s a white torii gate. This is it! There’s a stone plaque for Kamado Shrine hanging there. Excuse me. There’s a huge camphor tree, one of the “100 Famous Trees of Japan.” There’s one here too! There are several large camphor trees in the shrine grounds, and the entire shrine is covered in greenery. This must be a very old tree, too. It looks to be about 500 years old. Excuse me, “Second Torii Gate.” This camphor tree is also amazing! There’s a gate-like structure directly in front of me, but before I go through it, I’d like to first see the first highlight of Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine . That’s this torii gate, and it’s quite old. Let’s go through it. Turn around and look at the plaque above! This plaque, with the inscription “Kamado Shrine” on it, is covered in a metal frame, and fans have been saying that this frame resembles Nezuko’s box. Now that you mention it , the frame does look a bit like that… However, since it’s a new metal frame made for protection, it hasn’t always been like this. (It’s unclear when it started.) Interesting! Nezuko’s Box : I don’t want to make too many connections, but perhaps this frame was the inspiration for the design of “Nezuko’s wooden box”! Just thinking about it makes me excited! Now, let’s go through the gate and head toward the main shrine. It’s summer vacation, but since it’s a weekday morning, there’s no one around! It looks like we’ll be able to pray quietly. What a magnificent mountain gate! Actually, the Minister of the Right and the Minister of the Left guard the gate, and even here, we can see something connected to “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. ” It’s right here. Look at the pattern on the clothing this person is wearing! It’s a checkered pattern! It’s blue, though. Interesting! The checkered pattern probably needs no explanation, but it’s the pattern on Tanjiro’s haori. This statue itself appears to be quite old. The blue checkered pattern on the hakama is also peeling off considerably , so we can assume it’s not from when “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” first came out.
So far, there are already plenty of links to “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”! So, what else? The main shrine is visible directly ahead, and the chozuya (water purification basin) pops out with quite a bit of force! Don’t forget to turn off the valve! Founded in 1014, the shrine was enshrined from Mt. Kamado in Chikuzen Province (present-day Dazaifu City) and enshrined as the guardian deity of 300 households in Mizonokuchi. Originally located southwest of the Mizonokuchi district, it was moved to its current location during the Nanboku-cho period, northeast of Mizonokuchi Castle, which was believed to have been located here (the “onimo” or “demon’s gate”). Its role was to protect the castle from demons. The enshrined deity is Tamayorihime, the mother of Emperor Jimmu. The carvings on the shrine building are quite impressive, but the highlight is this particular part! The wave pattern resembles the effect of the Water Breathing technique. Tamayorihime was the daughter of the sea god, and thus had a strong connection to the sea, waves, and water. She could even be said to be the deity who governs water and the sea, so this pattern is no surprise. As a “Demon Slayer” fan, the water-themed carvings and the fact that the enshrined deity is a water god are key elements that make it easy to connect to the “Demon Slayer” series. As for why the god of water is enshrined here, it’s said to be because, as with the “hearth,” it has long been believed to ward off kitchen fires . A beautiful wave pattern can also be seen on the roof of the main shrine. In fact, there is another “Kamado Shrine” that is a sacred place for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” the “Homangu Kamado Shrine” in Dazaifu . According to the Chikugo City Tourism Association, “Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine” was enshrined from this “Kamado Shrine” in Dazaifu in 1014. This “Kamado Shrine” in Dazaifu also served as a protection against evil spirits for the Dazaifu government office . Both shrines protected important locations from demons . However, there is a scene in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Arc: Mugen Train” that suggests Chikugo City’s “Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine” may have an even stronger connection to “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.” Here’s that scene! In the scene where Rengoku asks Tanjiro about the color of his sword, he mistakenly calls him “young Mizoguchi” for no apparent reason. This scene was faithfully recreated in the movie. It was a very strange scene, and at the time I wondered, “Why Mizoguchi?” But when I learned that the author, Koyoharu Gotouge, was from Fukuoka and that there is a shrine called “Mizoguchi Kamado Shrine,” I thought, “That has to be it!” I’m sure many fans felt the same way. While it’s not officially announced, it’s fun to discover sacred sites through fan speculation and explore them while imagining. It seems that even small Demon Slayers occasionally visit. The ema display is also home to many ema with character drawings. They’re all so good! Unfortunately , since I visited in the morning, the shrine office was closed, so I wasn’t able to receive a goshuin, but it was on display, so I was glad I could at least take a look! The famous festival, “Sen Toumyo,” lights up a tower about 20 meters high, and the castle tower of Mizonokuchi Castle, which is said to have stood in this area during the Nanboku-cho period, comes into view. It seems truly fantastical. It’s also designated as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Chikugo City. I think it’ll be right around the time this video is released. If you’re in the area, please stop by. Finally, a little bonus: This is a restroom. It also features designs of Tanjiro and Nezuko. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is incredibly popular, and the Chikugo City Tourism Association website has a note stating that cosplay photography should be limited to the extent that it doesn’t disturb other worshippers. Please enjoy your pilgrimage while observing proper etiquette and rules! What did you think of Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine? It’s a lovely shrine nestled in the countryside of Chikugo City , surrounded by abundant greenery. It’s difficult to access , so it’s not the kind of place that sees large crowds, but it seems like during festivals and other events, people dressed in Demon Slayer cosplay gather in large numbers. I wish I could have witnessed that, but as a Demon Slayer fan, I was thrilled to come to this sacred place and pray! I’m so happy! It’s a wonderful memory! Whether the artist actually lives nearby or not remains a mystery, but I’ll continue to enjoy the world of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” while enjoying such fantasies! Mizuta Tenmangu Shrine, considered one of the two major Tenmangu shrines in Kyushu after Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka, is famous for being the only shrine in Japan dedicated to ” love . ” Its name is “Koinoki Shrine.” The sign features a pink heart, the main shrine building is red and pink, and the torii gates and other structures are lavishly decorated with hearts , creating a shrine that’s filled with a lovey-dovey atmosphere. Speaking of “love” in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” there’s also the “Love Pillar” Mitsuri Kanroji. Her cute appearance and supple, powerful fighting style are simply amazing! This “Koinoki Shrine” has become a sacred place for Mitsuri Kanroji. Check it out! Hearts, hearts, and more hearts decorated on the main shrine building! While its cuteness may be all that stands out, its history is long. Founded in the Kamakura period as a branch shrine of Mizuta Tenmangu Shrine, it enshrines the deity “Koi no Mikoto. ” Of course, it’s a very venerable shrine, long revered as the “god of happiness and good relationships” and the “god of love . ” In recent years, it has become a “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” sanctuary, attracting many fans . This spot, reminiscent of Mitsuri’s sword tsuba, has become a prime photo spot. However, this stone was installed long before the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” series began , and it was never created as a photo spot! Originally, heart shapes were commonly seen at shrines as a “talisman” motif. Given this, perhaps the artist was inspired by this motif for Mitsuri Kanroji. This could truly be called Mitsuri Kanroji’s sanctuary, right ? It’s easy to see why! Moreover, Chikugo City, located close to Mizonokuchi Kamado Shrine, is truly a holy place that brings you closer to the world of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.” The main shrine, Mizuta Tenmangu Shrine, is also a magnificent and beautiful shrine, so please be sure to visit! After enjoying the pilgrimage in Chikugo City, we drove to neighboring Yame City , famous for producing high-quality Japanese tea. We wanted to try some matcha sweets in Yame City, so we headed to Ochamura, a Yame tea specialty shop. The shop on the first floor offers a wide variety of Yame tea and matcha sweets! The second floor is a wonderful cafe with a view of the tea fields. The lush tea fields stretch out before us. It’s quite a spectacular view! Here we have matcha latte and matcha baked cheesecake, a matcha parfait, and a stylish glass of roasted green tea bean paste , matcha jelly, and ice cream! We also have a limited-edition matcha Mont Blanc! All of them were rich and I was able to fully enjoy the deliciousness of matcha!
