ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2025年7月に山梨県にある「忍野八海」に行きました。
富士五湖とその周辺の観光スポットを巡ります。
まずvol.4は忍野八海 前編～お釜池,銚子池,濁池,涌池～です。

・富士五湖
富士山の北の麓にある五つの湖を総称して「富士五湖(ふじごこ)」と呼びます。
その五つは、西から順に本栖湖(もとすこ)、精進湖(しょうじこ)、西湖(さいこ)、河口湖(かわぐちこ)、山中湖(やまなかこ)で、富士箱根伊豆国立公園に含まれ、それぞれが世界遺産の構成資産にもなっている。
かつて富士山の周囲にはいくつか大きな湖があり、それが当時の富士山の噴火に伴う溶岩流によって分断されたり、せき止められるなどの過程を経て現在の富士五湖が形成されたと考えられています。
・忍野八海
その昔、忍野湖は富士山の噴火活動を何度も経て、徐々に富士 裾野と御坂山系との狭間を水触、掘削排水され長い期間の後、ついに湖は涸れました。
富士山の伏流水に水源を発する湧水池がいくつか残りました。
その代表的な湧水池が「忍野八海」です。
富士山に降り積もる雪解け水が、地下の不透水層という溶岩の間で数十年の歳月をかけてろ過され、澄み切った水となりました。
忍野八海は「形状、水質、水量、保全状況、景観、仏教思想（富士信仰）など」の観点から、昭和9年(1934年)に国の天然記念物に指定され、昭和60年(1985年)に、環境庁から全国名水百選に選定されました。
また、平成6年(1993年)には、県富嶽百景選定地にも指定。
I’d like to introduce some places I happened to visit.
In July 2025, I went to Oshino Hakkai in Yamanashi Prefecture.
I’ll be touring the Fuji Five Lakes and the surrounding tourist spots.
First up, Vol. 4 is Oshino Hakkai Part 1: Okamaike, Choshiike, Nigoriike, and Wakuike.
Vol. 1: Lake Motosu, Lake Shoji, Lake Saiko, Lake Yamanaka
Vol. 2: Narusawa Ice Cave, Lake Fuji
Vol. 3: Lake Kawaguchiko, Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway

・Fuji Five Lakes
The five lakes at the northern foot of Mount Fuji are collectively known as the “Fuji Five Lakes.”
These five lakes, from west to west, are Lake Motosu, Lake Shoji, Lake Saiko, Lake Kawaguchi, and Lake Yamanaka. They are all part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, and each is a component of a World Heritage Site.
There were once several large lakes surrounding Mount Fuji. It’s believed that the current Fuji Five Lakes were formed through processes such as division and damming caused by lava flows from Mount Fuji’s eruptions.
・Oshino Hakkai
Lake Oshino long ago experienced numerous eruptions from Mount Fuji. Water gradually leaked from the gap between the foothills of Mount Fuji and the Misaka mountain range. After a long period of excavation and drainage, the lake finally dried up.
Several springs, each fed by the underground waters of Mount Fuji, remain.
One of the most representative springs is the Oshino Hakkai.
Meltwater from the snow that accumulates on Mount Fuji was filtered through the impermeable lava layer underground over the course of several decades, resulting in crystal clear water.
Oshino Hakkai was designated a national natural monument in 1934 based on its shape, water quality, water volume, conservation status, landscape, and Buddhist philosophy (Fuji worship), and in 1985 it was selected as one of Japan’s 100 famous waters by the Environment Agency.
In 1993, it was also selected as one of the prefecture’s 100 most scenic spots for Mount Fuji.
