Today, we bring you the Kanazawa Festival Fireworks. It’s a popular show, also visible from parks and Hakkeijima Sea Paradise. But Japanese fireworks festivals always mean massive crowds!
Having your view blocked is normal. Especially at the Sumida River Fireworks, you often see only a glimpse from behind buildings. So this time, we changed strategy—watching from the opposite side of the launch barge, out at sea. Joining me is Mr. F, who always helps with yacht and drone filming. He’s a former senior colleague and a ship enthusiast who travels the world to film vessels. Honestly, if he started a ship-themed YouTube channel, it would surely be a hit! (laughs) We’ve even shared yacht footage in the past. Boats are fun! Steering yourself is great, and boarding one while traveling is fantastic. Now we set sail. The fireworks begin at 7 PM, but we must anchor offshore by 5:30. We depart the yacht harbor at 3 PM. My life was supposed to be as a yacht owner… but here I am, a drone YouTuber. It was scorching hot that day. Without wind, it hit 38°C—like a desert. As we neared Hakkeijima, we lowered the mainsail. And prepared the heavy anchor. The heat was like hell itself. What’s going on, Earth? Actually, I boldly tried YouTube LIVE for the first time… But smartphone footage had low resolution, and with tens of thousands on 5G, the video turned out poorly. This footage is from DJI Pocket2, so it’s a bit better. Fireworks really need high-end cameras. This year’s fireworks felt a little different. The blasts were weaker, and the intervals longer…
There was an accident at another venue earlier, causing explosions. Safety measures may have been tightened. But don’t worry. The finale was as powerful as ever!
It felt like the pyrotechnicians showed their pride. Enjoy it through to the climax. And midway, about 20 minutes in, our AI sister appears as a guest singer! Here she is—the guest for our song!
