旅の文筆家。世界各国を400回以上旅し、独自の視点で“旅の楽しさ”を発信し続けている。
雑誌編集者を経てコラムニスト・旅行文筆家として活動を開始し、これまでに 65冊以上の著作 を執筆。
1996年、雑誌「DIME」での連載をまとめた 『海外個人旅行（得）マニュアル』（小学館刊） で単行本デビュー。当時主流だったパック旅行ではなく、個人旅行のノウハウを分かりやすくまとめた内容は、旅行業界・出版界に衝撃を与え、ロングセラーに。
その後も「oggi」「25ans」「anan」「Men’s Non-no」「DIME」など幅広い媒体で連載を持ち、旅行者から絶大な支持を集める。特に ハワイ関連本は累計100万部を突破、快適なハワイ旅の第一人者として知られる。

Manu Yamashita has traveled abroad more than 400 times and continues to share the joy of travel through his unique perspective. After working as a magazine editor, he became a travel columnist and author, publishing over 65 books to date.
In 1996, he made his book debut with “Kaigai Kojin Ryokō (Overseas Individual Travel) Manual” (Shogakukan), a guidebook that explained the know-how of independent travel at a time when packaged tours dominated. It caused a sensation in the travel and publishing industry and became a long-selling hit.
He has contributed to a wide range of magazines such as oggi, 25ans, anan, Men’s Non-no, and DIME, gaining a strong following among readers. His Hawaii travel books have sold over one million copies, establishing him as a leading expert on comfortable Hawaii travel.
