July 20, 2025. My family is camping in our car at an auto campground this weekend to power our car’s sub-battery. We’re currently at Lakeside Sakuraoka Auto Campground. A van trip, traveling with a corgi. Osa, Mama-chan, and Kotaro. It’s a perfectly peaceful morning. Preparing breakfast. Wakame seaweed miso soup. Breakfast is complete. Ponzu sauce and mayonnaise. Osa loves mayonnaise. This would be delicious as a hamburger. The rain is forecast to stop by the morning. Later today, we’ll return to Shibetsu City. We’ll go to an event being held at a roadside station. After that, we’ll go to a soba restaurant in the Tayori district, which I had deliciously last year. Cleaning the car. Daily brushing. Corgis shed the most hair, even among dogs. We stop by a vegetable farm on the way. 100 yen a bag is a bargain. We collect spring water for drinking. Heading to the roadside station. Roadside station: Sheep Town Samurai Shibetsu. There are several stalls on the roadside station grounds. Roadside Station, Hitsuji-no-Machi Samurai Shibetsu. Shibetsu is synonymous with Suffolk meat. It’s a little pricey, but I’d love to try it. There are plenty of other delicious-looking items, too. I’m also interested in the kamaboko tempura. Ginger tempura and shiso-wrapped miso. The classic shrimp tempura and squid tempura . I bought some for tonight’s dinner at a famous soba restaurant in the Tayori area. Roadside Station, Hitsuji-no-Machi Samurai Shibetsu. It’s only open during the day. Junshin. A popular restaurant that closes as soon as it runs out of soba. Junshin, hand-made soba. It’s often fully booked, so you have to wait in line. The soba tea is fragrant and delicious. Chilled tanuki soba. Osa has motsu soba. Osa’s coworker, a local, said the chilled tanuki was the best . The firm soba noodles and tempura flakes go perfectly together. Delicious. The motsu soba noodles are thickly cut. It’s packed with so much offal, it’s almost overwhelming! Exchange. A taste irresistible for offal lovers. Thank you for the meal. Coffee time at Tsukumo Suigo Park. Coffee brewed with delicious spring water we’d drawn. The taste of the coffee changes depending on the water. Kotaro received an Ezo deer hamburger from a viewer. Kotaro, what a luxurious treat. A bathing facility I always visit. Asunaro Community Center, Platt. Adult admission is 490 yen, and the water was excellent. Return to the base campsite. Tsukumo Suigo Park Campground. Preparing for dinner. Just heating up what I bought at the roadside station. Tonight’s dinner. Are you dissatisfied with the amount of vegetables? The feast begins. I don’t often get a chance to eat Suffolk skewers. The fat melts in your mouth. There’s almost no mutton-specific odor. Shiso miso inside the kamaboko is a novel idea. The dough is deep-fried, but not greasy, and fragrant. The curry roux is well-spiced. My favorite curry bread. A satisfying day filled with delicious food. The night slowly draws on again today. Osa has another day off tomorrow, too. So, let’s enjoy a few more drinks tonight. Good night. 2025/07/21. Today’s plan is a tour of Shibetsu’s sweets. First up is a recommendation from a viewer living in Shibetsu City. A cake shop with a reputation for its deliciousness. Chitarabe Cake Shop. Chitarabe Cake Shop. Photography was prohibited inside the store. Next is a soft-serve ice cream shop that Kotaro also loves. Chitarabe Cake Shop. Mineta Farm. Mineta Farm. Their soft-serve ice cream made with brown sugar is known for its delicious flavor. The soft, fluffy aroma of brown sugar. I thought it would be a little on the sweet side because it’s brown sugar, but… It’s just a faint sweetness. This is something you’ll want to come back for again and again. In addition to soft-serve ice cream, they also have fresh milk and yogurt drinks. Coffee break at Tsukumo Suigo Park. A mille-feuille I bought at Chitarabe Cake Shop. It’s hot today, so I’ll have an iced cafe au lait. The mille-feuille is the shop’s most popular item. It ‘s filled with plenty of creamy, creamy cream. And the flaky pie crust. That day, I met a viewer and was invited to their home. Later, at their home. It was my first time eating grilled Genghis Khan. It was absolutely delicious. Osa ended up grilling it. They also prepared beef for Kotaro. The viewer was thoughtful, knowing that Kotaro would be tired from the heat. Kotaro was delighted. Delicious Genghis Khan and homemade rice balls. We had lots of alcohol. We chatted for several hours and had a great time. They even drove us back to the campsite. Thank you. We even received a souvenir. The next day, we had a yakiniku party with venison and wine. Dinner the next day. I was once again immersed in the joys of Shibetsu City. My work in Shibetsu City was about 10 days away. I went to the izakaya “Kushiyaki Musashi” that I had researched. I also wanted to visit Rojiura Curry SAMURAI Furusato, a delicious soup curry in Tayori. Just as we were making these plans, Osa suffered an unexpected injury at work. He injured his left leg while working. He was examined at a hospital in Asahikawa City. X-rays and other tests showed no abnormalities in the bones, but after a doctor’s diagnosis, the company decided that I would not be able to work for the remaining days. I can now barely walk with a limp. It’s not a job I can do while protecting my leg. I decided to return home from Asahikawa City. I’m very sad that my trip to Shibetsu has come to an abrupt end. There were still many places I wanted to go, but I’ll look forward to next time. It ended with the mishap of Osa’s injury, but Shibetsu was a great city after all. 私も先日士別市を少し立ち寄りました！市だけあって、いろんなお店が国道沿いに並んでいるので不便はない街だなぁと感じました。オサ様、怪我の経過はいかがでしょうか？北海道は少しずつ空気と風が冷たくなり過ごしやすくなってきましたね！この後の旅も楽しみにしています☆サンセットがジワジワと短くなってきましたね。お互いに安全に走りましょう♪
