【戦争遺跡】千葉・南房総に残る大砲の陣地跡、稲都大月砲台(榴弾砲砲座・砲側弾薬庫)

It should be. Oh, and this is that place. Is it called the ammunition magazine? Hello. This is Papageno from “Some Old Things on the Road.” Thank you for your continued viewing, comments, and likes. Oh, I’m in Minami Boso today. Today’s episode is about war sites. I’d like to visit the ruins of the Inato-Otsuki Battery. So, please join us. Now, I’m your guide, Maya. And here we have the usual scary faces. Ah, the bushes are scary. This time, I’ll be introducing a cannon emplacement built during the war. This channel focuses on old roads, abandoned roads, tunnels, and war relics, mainly in Boso. [Music] I update irregularly several times a week, so if you’re interested in these topics, please subscribe and enable notifications to ensure you’ll always see the latest videos. The Inato-Otsuki Battery I’m introducing today was built by the Imperial Japanese Army’s Tokyo Bay Corps during the war. It was one of the emplacements constructed in preparation for the so-called Battle of the Japanese Home Islands. Two 28cm howitzers were installed there at the time, and the remains of their mounts and the gun’s ammunition storehouse remain. By the way, this 28cm howitzer was a fairly old weapon even for its time. It was officially adopted in 1892 and played a major role in the capture of enemy fortresses during the Siege of Port Arthur during the Russo-Japanese War. However, it seems likely that when it was deployed here, it was a collection of weapons that had been withdrawn from the front line and were used to prepare for the US landing . Incidentally , this same gun was also installed at the Ichinomiya and Kanaya Temporary Battery, which I previously introduced . After this, we first toured the underground bunker that served as the gun side ammunition storehouse. As the name suggests, the gun side ammunition storehouse is a warehouse that stores shells next to the cannon . Since it stores shells, the interior is reinforced with concrete, and the ingenuity required for transporting heavy shells remains, making these aspects interesting to see. Afterwards, we also toured the remains of the gun emplacement, which may be a little difficult to understand . The Ichinomiya Temporary Battery emplacement, which I introduced in a previous video, was relatively easy to understand, so I’ve included a link. Please feel free to use it as reference. So, please continue. [Music] Okay. Go from here to here. Here you go . Are we starting off abruptly? I think there are two, so I’ll take one. Yeah. The cannons are lined up like this. This is a howitzer or something, a 28-howitzer, 28-howitzer, yeah. It’s not in very good condition. Yeah. But it’s sturdy, isn’t it? It’s still the gun storehouse, isn’t it? The gun storehouse has concrete poured over it. Well, I’ll go. Please let me go. Okay. Yeah. Well, the entrance’s crushed, as usual, but it should be fine once you’re inside. So, here you go. Here you go. Hmm. Father and father. Ah, it’s cool. Paradise, paradise. [Music] [Music] Well, today is July 5th, after all. There were rumors of a big earthquake, but, uh, what should we do? What should we do? If a big earthquake were to hit a place like this , we might get buried. It’s huge. Yeah. Which way should we go? It’s amazing. It’s apparently the gun-side ammunition storehouse for the 28-howitzer gun. Ah. Hey, this bench is wide. Oh, but this place collapsed. This place has collapsed. So, if a major earthquake occurs, this place will collapse too. Okay. It’s a concrete stalactite. I wonder how many years it took for it to grow to this size. Okay. Is it still being excavated? Or has it collapsed? I’m not really sure though. Yeah. But isn’t this a bench? I wonder ? There was something like this in the gun-side ammunition storehouse at the Kanaya Temporary Battery . Is this a bench? What do you call it? Is it a platform for placing shells? And this side ends here. This is completely the end. Ah, oh, is this one too? Okay, let’s go back. It’s wide. It’s wide here. This one. Is that Dad? Yeah. Yes. I wonder if this isn’t a bench, but a platform for placing shells? I’m not sure about that either. There was something like this in Kanaya too. The shape is exactly the same. It looks like a bench, doesn’t it? A bench, huh? And bullets wouldn’t be placed here like this. Yeah. I think this is probably a bench for soldiers to live here. Oh, so that means there were so many of them? There were, right? Because you need someone to operate that one cannon. Yeah. I see. So it’s called a bench, so I think it’s probably a bench. Yeah. The place where the cannon bullets are placed is flatter and concreted. Right. I see. Are there some places that are concreted? I think there are probably some up ahead. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don’t think I brought a flashlight with me. Once you get to the professional level, you don’t even need a flashlight. You don’t even need a flashlight. I’m just licking it. They probably poured concrete here, and this is probably a bullet resting place here. [Applause] Ah, I see. Oh, is that concrete? Yes, this is concrete. Oh, it’s concrete. Let’s go a little further in here. Oh, it’s true. It’s poured with concrete. It’s poured with concrete. Oh, that’s right. They had this in Kanaya too. Over here. This is the end. Ah. Ah, that’s good. I see. Yeah. Oh, this is a pretty emotional video. Ah, there’s concrete underneath here. Yeah. Yes. More than anything, it’s cool so I suddenly feel more energetic. All right. The collapse is getting pretty big over here. Ah, here too. I see. Is this also an ammunition room? Ah, there’s concrete here too. I see. I thought there was a wind coming and it was a bat. Yeah. This is a bullet storage area. I see. There’s a quick attack dug here too. Isn’t it in a certain place? Like, ah , in the middle here? Well, I mean, in the middle, or something like that . Yeah. There is a gutter though. Yeah. I don’t know where the middle is. Um, right? It’s like, um, the place where you lay the logs, right? Yes, yes. There’s no doubt that this is where the balls are placed. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That’s right. There was something like that in the middle, right? Yeah. The one for Per. Yeah. Yeah. I think there was a hole to put a stopper in. All right. Well, each unit has their own ingenuity when it comes to that sort of thing. Yeah. Ah, this side is also an exit. So, um, this, ah, you can get out from here too. Yeah. You can get out. Ah, I’m sure there wasn’t one more, right? It’s not just one, is it? [Music] I’m sure there were two questions here, so I remember thinking there was one more, but maybe there was only one . [Music] It feels like the concrete hasn’t even been poured here yet. What is this? Is it unfinished ? I think it is unfinished. I thought so. It’s not all finished. It’s fallen down. That’s missing. Yeah. This hole here also looks a little unfinished. And I think it’s unfinished too. I wonder if they were supposed to still be digging the front too. It looks like it. I could vaguely make out the remains of the gun emplacement, but I wonder what it’s like now. Yeah. It looks like when it was finished it would have been about the same size as the Ichinomiya Temporary Artillery Battery. That’s right. Ouch. Oh, my glasses are fogged up. Maybe the lenses are fogged up too? It’s hot. It’s hot when I come out. My glasses are fogged up and I can’t see anything. I think there might have been another one on this side. Um, but since there is one, let’s go there. Ah, this is definitely a road. Ah, these are the remains of the gun emplacement. Um, h, ah, wait a minute. Um, oh, I see. Ah, they say a 28cm howitzer was installed here. Oh, is there a hole there? But my glasses are a little fogged up and I can’t see what’s behind it. Without my glasses on, everything around me is kind of blurry, so I can’t really see. Ah, it’s here. Ah, it’s here. The gun emplacement. Ah, I see, I see. It’s definitely a gun emplacement . Yes. A howitzer was installed here. That’s what it looks like. Yes. Huh? And then I was left behind. Ah, there he is, there he is, there he is. It was cool and comfortable inside the gun-side ammunition storehouse earlier. But… Yes. Well, the moment they came out, you could say the hellish Battle of Imphal was restarted. But, no, the real Battle of Imphal was much more than this . Of course, for the weaklings, it got to that level, so… well , this is how they bought time and had their predecessors make a path, that’s the strategy . Well, it was the usual strategy, you know. Okay. Ah, this looks like a military road. Okay. I’m convinced, but people watching this footage might not really understand what it is. But this is definitely a trench, this. Okay. Oops. Okay. What is this? The second gun side ammunition storehouse. Ah, yes. It was amazing. That long bench, or rather chair, that was collapsed earlier . I think there was something chair-like there, but this one was in perfect condition . Oh, really? Yes. It’s finished. The finished product. That’s amazing. Let’s go. Hey there. Oh, it’s true. It’s beautiful. As soon as you enter here, concrete has been poured in. The trench is about 180cm high. Oh, another unit was coming in from over there. This side ends here. Ah, and a bench. A completed bench. Yes, it’s true. This place remains beautifully. It remains. I’d like to sit here, but if I sit down now, my butt would get, how should I put it , so tight. Yeah. It’s before lunch yet, so I can’t go too far. Amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing. They’ve poured concrete here properly. This is the boundary. Ah, yes. So, there are remains of the shoring here. But wait a minute. There aren’t many remains of the shoring. I wonder if there were any other remains around here. I mean, it should have been completely filled in. Ah, and this is that place. The ammunition, well, I guess you could call it an ammunition room? Yes. It was in the trench we were in earlier too. Hmm, kind of, oh, this didn’t fall down. Ah, yes. It was probably like this from the beginning. I mean, there ‘s a pentagon at the back, but it’s not a Kannon moat, can’t it? Who would have thought I’d come across a Kannon moat in a place like this. And there are certainly a lot of traces of shoring here. Yes. That’s right. I guess there was a lot of shoring here too. Well, there was shoring here, and there must have been boards pasted elsewhere too. Ah, have you seen this? No, I haven’t. This place is amazing. Amazing. Sometime ago, yes, for some reason there’s a pentagon at the back. Oh, this is probably some kind of blast protection, or maybe an evacuation space. Ah, here’s another ammunition store. Yes. It’s already been poured with concrete. There aren’t many traces of shoring left on this side. So, the strata remain. Hmm. Maybe this place isn’t finished yet either? It’s still being dug. No, but it looks kind of finished. Wait. Ah. Ah, ah, this doesn’t feel that hard. It ‘s just regular sedimentary rock, erm, mudstone, something like that. Yeah. Eh, so, this is probably, wait a minute. There’s another one that came in . Ah, it’s from that time. This is wood from that time, right? Ah, you have it, right? We had it here before. We had it here before. Yes. Yeah. It was left behind without being used as firewood. Ah, I see. It’s buried here too. Yeah. These are, um, how should I put it. It seems like all the original building materials were removed after the war and used as fuel, for ordinary households. Oh? Oh, it’s become this slightly larger room. Bats are living in peace now. Well, they’re a little nervous now that some strange people have shown up in a place where they were living peacefully . All right. This is the gun emplacement. Ah, the gun emplacement. Ah, right in front. Yeah. Oh, so that gun emplacement from before was the first one. And this is the second one. Yeah. This one is also clearly visible. Ah, it’s at the back here. Yeah. Let’s go take a look at the account. Ah, you’re right. It’s dug into a nice circular shape. It might be. If you dig down, you’ll probably find the remains of the Ichinomiya Temporary Battery, which I introduced in another video before. There are also remains of the gun emplacement where a 28cm howitzer was installed, and there are traces of concrete poured around it. So, if we dig a little further underground, we might find a concrete emplacement here too. Was a cannon installed here? Ah, I think it was. Yeah. Well, it seems there are records of the cannon being installed. Yeah. There might still be a concrete base left. Yeah. It’d be a lot of work to dig it up. Oh, so my glasses are fogged up. The guide fee is 20,000 yen. Apparently. 20,000 yen. Yes. Huh? Fukumoto isn’t here? Fukumoto isn’t here. Oh well, it’s okay. Fukumoto is doing his best to do his research. He said he’d just bury it like this. Anyway, that’s it for today’s video. Thank you for watching again. See you again. Bye-bye. [Music]
