【宮崎旅行3】 高千穂峡・天岩戸神社・日向岬の絶景観光と宮崎空港グルメ 🌴|2泊3日 3日目
Good morning! It’s the 3rd day of our Miyazaki trip. Here’s our 2-night, 3-day Miyazaki itinerary. This video is covering Day 3. Videos of Day 1 and Day 2 are linked in the description. At the end, we’ll share the Day 3 expenses and the total cost for 3 days. Hope this helps with your trip planning! First, we’re heading to the Sea Cross lookout. It’s about an hour and 20 minutes from our hotel in Miyazaki City. There’s a parking lot near the lookout. “The Sea Cross where wishes come true.” “It was named because the columnar rocks were split by waves into a cross shape.” “The Bell of Wishes.” I wonder what wishes people send up to the sky here. Can you see the character for “wish granted”? Next, we’re heading to the Umagase Cape lookout. It’s only a 2-minute drive from Sea Cross lookout to Umagase’s 2nd parking lot. Parking is free, and there are restrooms and a teahouse. There are two entrances to the trail: one by the teahouse and one by the restrooms. We took the one near the restrooms. If you want to stop by the lighthouse, this path is best. The trail is paved. It’s a steady uphill climb… pretty tiring 😵 There’s the lighthouse! This time we’ll skip it and head straight to Umagase. The ocean view is so refreshing! After about a 10-minute walk… We arrived at Umagase Lookout “Skeluccha!” The lookout floor is see-through. Japan’s largest columnar rocks. Taka-san, who’s afraid of heights… is crouching awkwardly while taking photos of the view (lol). Now we’re heading to the Hyuga Cape lookout. Another uphill climb… Phew, finally made it! Wow, that was quite a walk from the lighthouse! Let’s go all the way to the edge. It looks dark backlit, but it’s actually much brighter. Looking back, you can see how bright it really is. To the side, the coastline looks like a sleeping elephant. Be careful at the tip—it’s rocky and uneven. The timing’s bad, the backlight is so strong… Next, we’re heading to Takachiho Gorge. It’s about a 1 hour 15 minute drive from Umagase to Takachiho Gorge. At Takachiho, we’ll finally get to ride a boat! You can reserve rental boats online from 9 a.m., 2 weeks in advance. We waited too long and the slots filled up, but luckily we caught a cancellation. We parked at the closest lot, Parking No.1 Oshioi. It was ¥500 when we parked, but now it’s ¥1,000 😱 Parking No.2 Araragi is also ¥1,000,
but Parking No.3 Ohashi and No.4 Oshikata are free. We still have time before our boat reservation,
so we decided to have lunch first. Across the river from the boat dock, there are several restaurants lined up. Chihonoie. We chose this place where you can eat salt-grilled yamame trout. They also have nagashi-somen (flowing noodles). But since it was a bit chilly, we picked something else this time. Keikoku dango (valley dumplings) – ¥400. “Tadaaa!” “Hmmm.” “The mochi is like mitarashi dango,
but the sauce tastes strongly of miso.” “Maybe a hint of walnut too.” “It’s completely different from gohei-mochi.” Salt-grilled yamame trout – ¥800. The meat is packed and fluffy—so good! I ordered udon – ¥800. Taka-san ordered soba – ¥800. The meat was so flavorful and delicious! After lunch, we took a short walk along Takachiho Gorge’s trail. Scenic Spot 1 for viewing Manai Falls. This is the view from Oshioi Bridge. Trail entrance. Scenic Spot 2 for Manai Falls: Takimidai (waterfall viewing deck). On the cliffs of Takachiho Gorge,
you can see pillar-like patterns. They’re called “columnar joints,”
natural rock columns formed by nature. Onokoro Pond. Sturgeons were swimming gracefully! It’s almost time for our boat ride, so let’s head there. Since we reserved online, we go to the online reservation counter. Today’s fee: ¥5,100 (so pricey…). We head down the stairs to the boat dock. We sat on a bench, waiting for our turn. Our turn finally came. At last, we’re boarding the boat! Taka-san even practiced rowing beforehand at a local boat rental. But that time, he ended up with blisters on his butt 😖 “Wow, there’s a rainbow!” “Yep!” “They just told us, ‘Now’s a good time, a rainbow is out!’” Ah, that’s Oshioi Bridge! The columnar joints look so powerful up close. We’re getting closer to Manai Falls. Scenic Spot 3 for Manai Falls is the view from the boat. The sunlight hit the waterfall perfectly, with a rainbow—so beautiful! It’s crowded in front of the falls, and we can’t move forward. We reached the turnaround point. Taka-san is exhausted. Our 30-minute little boat trip is over. We left Takachiho Gorge and next headed to Amano Iwato Shrine. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Takachiho Gorge. We arrived at the shrine’s parking lot. Parking Lot No.1 costs ¥500, but Lots No.2–4 are free. Amano Iwato Shrine – West Shrine, First Torii Gate. There’s a statue of Amenotajikarao,
who threw away the rock of Amano Iwato. Amano Iwato Shrine, West Shrine. To reach Amano Yasukawara, you need to go back out to the road. Near the entrance to Amano Yasukawara, there are shops and cafés. We keep going down a long slope. The walk back is going to be tough… We can see the river now. Amano Yasukawara Shrine. Visitors pile up stones here as they make their wishes. Souvenir shop “Yasukawara.” They sell souvenirs, as well as soft-serve ice cream and drinks. We ordered yuzu soda and kinako mochi. The kinako mochi is handmade. “Kinako mochi~ 💛” “It’s warm.” “Yeah.” “So tasty!” “Mmm…” “Mmm…” “Mmm…💦” “Ngghh pfff 💦” “Lololol” “The mochi stretches and won’t break!” “It’s like freshly pounded mochi.” “Really delicious!” They also serve complimentary shiitake tea. “Ahh, such a nice aroma.” “Smells good, right?” “Oh! That’s tasty!” “So relaxing.” “Yeah, it is.” The yuzu soda was crisp and refreshing. “After that workout, this hits the spot!” Now we’re heading to Miyazaki Airport. It’s about a 2 hour 15 minute drive from Amano Iwato Shrine. We returned our rental car and arrived at Miyazaki Airport. Let’s check out a restaurant in the airport. Is Miyazaki big on golf? There’s a weird palm tree mascot… We decided to eat at a restaurant called Cosmos. This restaurant serves the airport’s famous curry. It’s called Ganges Curry. It was created when Miyazaki Airport’s terminal building first opened. “Yummm!” “Mmm.” “They say it has peanut butter in it.” “They say the recipe hasn’t changed in over 60 years.” I ordered the Miyazaki Wagyu Beef Curry. Since we hadn’t eaten Miyazaki beef yet,
at least we’ll enjoy it in curry form! As the name suggests, it’s loaded with chunks of Miyazaki Wagyu! The meat is tender and simmered perfectly—so delicious 😋 The Miyazaki Mango Blancmange is more than half off if you order a set meal. So of course, we ordered it. Looks so good!! Fresh mango fruit with mango sauce on top. Below that, maybe mango pudding? And beneath that, blancmange. Light and refreshing—so tasty 😋 And that wraps up our fun Miyazaki trip. Now, here’s the cost for Day 3 and the total for 3 days, 2 nights. First, the expenses for Day 3 are… Including the return flight: ¥17,480 for two. And the total cost for our 3-day Miyazaki trip is… Thank you so much for watching until the end 🫶 See you again on our next trip!
