今回は岩手県花巻市から雫石町にかけての旅をお届けします！
まずは、廃校になった小学校を再利用した「山の駅 昭和の学校」へ。校舎の廊下や教室に、校長先生が25年以上かけて集めたという20万点以上もの昭和レトロなアイテムがずらり！昭和を知る世代には懐かしく、知らない世代には新鮮な驚きがある、まさにタイムスリップしたかのような体験ができます。再現された商店街は圧巻です！
そして、岩手といえばダム！
花巻市の豊沢ダム、そして雫石町にある御所ダム上流の4つの農地防災ダム（レン滝ダム、外桝沢ダム、矢櫃ダム、鶯宿ダム）を巡ります。
珍しい「流水型ダム」の様子や、それぞれ異なるダムの形式（重力式コンクリートダムやロックフィルダム）に注目です。ダムカードをゲットしに管理事務所にも立ち寄りました！
旅の最後は、道の駅 雫石あねっこで温泉タイム！
美肌効果で知られる源泉かけ流しの「橋場温泉 新はしばの湯」で、ダム巡りで疲れた体を癒しました。
お風呂上がりに食べた、ピリ辛の「葉わさびうどん」も絶品でした！

This time, we’ll be taking you on a journey from Hanamaki City to Shizukuishi Town in Iwate Prefecture!
First, we visit “Yama no Eki Showa no Gakko,” a former elementary school repurposed for the area. The hallways and classrooms of the school building are filled with over 200,000 Showa-era retro items, collected over 25 years by the principal! It’s a nostalgic experience for those who remember the Showa era, and a fresh surprise for those who don’t, making it truly feel like you’ve traveled back in time. The recreated shopping street is a sight to behold!
And when you think of Iwate, you think of dams!
We’ll visit Toyosawa Dam in Hanamaki City and four farmland disaster prevention dams (Rentaki Dam, Sotomasuzawa Dam, Yabitsu Dam, and Oshuku Dam) upstream of Gosho Dam in Shizukuishi Town.
We’ll take a look at the rare “run-of-river dams” and the different dam types (gravity concrete dams and rockfill dams). We also stopped by the management office to get a dam card!
At the end of the trip, we took a dip in a hot spring at Shizukuishi Anekko Roadside Station!
We soothed our tired bodies from touring the dams at Hashiba Onsen Shin Hashiba no Yu, a hot spring known for its skin-beautifying properties.
The spicy leaf wasabi udon noodles we had after our bath were also delicious!
