踏切ゲート-Lite+(ライトプラス)JR西日本の第4種踏切を見てきた 山陰本線 泊-松崎 下山踏切
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Amazing! It opens completely this far! And it slowly goes back. Automatically. So amazing! Cool! Super Hakuto! Hello everyone! This is Ayako Suzukawa! So today, I’ve come to Yurihama Town in Tottori
Prefecture. It’s a town located roughly in the center of
Tottori Prefecture. You can see the train tracks next to me now, This is the JR San’in Main Line. It’s somewhere between Tomari Station and
Matsuzaki Station, More like near Tomari Station. The reason why I came here is because JR West has a
Type 4 railroad crossing. They’ve added something new to this Type 4
railroad crossing, which doesn’t have any
warning lights or crossing gates. Railroad crossing gates have been installed
for several years, and one of them, the Railroad
Crossing Gate Light, Is right behind me. It’s installed there, so I thought I’d check it
out. I came to see it. At the Railway Technology
Exhibition, I saw either a prototype or a very
early version. I’m not sure, but I had the chance to see it, and now
actually, It’s my first time seeing it installed, so that’s
why I came here today, but it’s really something.
It’s something. Ah, it’s that. It’s so small. The sound surprised me. I’m sure this is activated by a sensor. I was a little surprised just now, but Make sure you, Be careful. I’ve checked, so let’s cross. They’ve also developed something called
Railroad Crossing Gate Light Plus, And apparently, they’re planning to install
more of them in the future. The difference between Light and Light Plus is… Whether or not small special vehicles can pass
through. The Plus allows them to pass. The regular Light doesn’t allow them to pass. So, this is probably… You know, the sign says ‘excluding small special
motorcycles’… Oh, so does that mean this is the Light version? Oh, it’s the Light Plus. Plus, right, it says ‘excluding’, so they can pass. So, I guess this is the Light Plus, maybe. Is it the newest one? Basically, a railroad crossing gate is for
pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles. can pass through. So, with the Light Plus, small special vehicles can also pass through. It takes a little courage, doesn’t it? You have to push the gate… You have to push it diagonally. It’s the same as the railroad crossing escape
method, You kinda push the bar diagonally upwards, like
this. No, maybe straight sideways. Let’s try going through, for now. Gezan Railroad Crossing. It’s Gezan Railroad Crossing. Well, based on the schedule, I know a train isn’t
coming right now. But of course, I’ll check to be sure. Okay, stopping. Okay, right clear. Left clear. Okay, crossing. Okay, please leave the crossing quickly. Lift the bar or push it forward. Oh, it’s light! And it returns automatically. Oh! Hahaha, amazing! But, you see, it says to lift it up to go through from
this side. If you’re coming from the other side and exiting
the tracks, you can push the bar forward, but on
this side, Now, I can push it with my hand or lift it up, right? But if you’re coming from this side, it says to
lift it up to proceed. Please lift the bar. The lifted bar comes down slowly. There are several of these railroad crossing
gates in Shimane and Tottori, too. Lights and Light Plus versions are being
installed sequentially. Apparently, accidents have been drastically
reduced. It’s meaningful, or rather, it functions
properly. It’s not on that side right now, but there are also
audio announcements. It clearly indicates that this is a railroad
crossing and that there are train tracks. Even in the sense of confirming, I think railroad crossing gates are very
important. I can go now, so I’ll go. Okay. But of course, right clear, Left clear, yes, it’s safe. I will cross quickly. Oh, I see, I see, Even on this side, It rings, you know. When I saw it at the Railway Technology
Exhibition, I really thought it was amazing. But after all, it was in a hall as a prototype. I was shown it in a situation where it was just
placed there. Seeing it actually installed in a place like
this is a bit moving. Definitely a Type 4 railroad crossing. From a safety perspective, as much as possible, in
the future, I think we should reduce them more and more, But after all, there are various hurdles, such as
money and other issues. This railroad crossing gate is a really good
technology. Just having this for safety makes a big
difference. Soon, the train is expected to arrive. I would like to watch it pass safely. Is it ringing? Oh, it’s ringing, it’s ringing! It’s ringing over there. Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Is it coming? Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Wow, this place is really something. It doesn’t ring here, does it? I see, well, that makes sense. Right, this is completely sensor-operated. The sense of speed is still pretty amazing. Yeah. Of course, the train is also sounding its horn. You know, I walked a bit from over there, so I can
tell, The visibility is really poor here. It’s also slightly on a curve. There’s a covering there, and grass growing, so. That was the speed of a local train, right? But you know, the Super Hakuto also passes
through here. By the way, how far does it go? What’s its range of
motion? It goes completely all the way up here. And it slowly goes down. Right clear, left clear. Oh, there’s some grass stuck to it. Push right, push left, OK. Next, I’ll try pushing it on that side. Here we go, Okay, I’ll push and exit. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, amazing! It opens completely all the way here. And, It slowly returns, Automatically. Wow! So, small special vehicles can really just go
straight through. Without getting caught, I guess. It’s going pretty fast. Really, Here. The Super Matsukaze is now, Yellow, It stands out. But yeah. It passed by. I wonder if it’s bound for Tottori? Another one is coming. This time, Super Matsukaze
is coming from the other direction, from Tottori. Another one will probably be here in a few
minutes, so I want to watch it. Oh, it’s here! It’s here, it’s here, it’s here! Hmm. I can hear the train track sounds and the horn, but
actually, More cars pass by on this road than I thought. The car sounds are quite loud, well, of course, it’s
not like I can’t hear them, The horn, I mean. But still, it’s a bit… If you get distracted by these sounds, It’s really important to be careful and look
around properly. I feel it’s even more important. Oh! It’s here! What’s this? Ohoho! Cool! Super Hakuto! The Hare of Inaba, you know, Hakuto, Hakuto. No, no, no, I’m glad I could see it. The Super Hakuto,
too. I wonder. What do you think, everyone? For those who might
come to see it, There might be some. Please be really careful. Of course, it’s installed for safety reasons. By all means, please be careful. I hope nothing dangerous happens when you come
to see this. Please be really careful. There are still many Type 4 railroad crossings
all over the country, so These kinds of safety measures are important. I hope they spread. Technology is still advancing rapidly, so I’d be happy if it continued to advance. That’s just what I think as a railway enthusiast. No, but really, seeing the real thing, I’m glad I could see it in person like this. So, We’ve come to see the Crossing Gate Light Plus
from JR West in Tottori Prefecture. We came to see the Crossing Gate Light Plus. Thank you. Wow, It’s really summer. It has a unique stillness to it. Amazing. This is the Tottori Sand Dunes. There are still about two small hills over there. There are small hills. Wow!
