Hello everyone, welcome to Chicken Leg Cat Channel. Today, I’m joining a three-day, all-experience tour to Dingnan, Jiangxi, run by the travel agency Zhouyou Holiday. The most appealing thing about this tour is that the tour fee is only 69 yuan per person. Each member of the tour receives a bag of Hakka rice noodles and two meals for 99 yuan. No wonder so many people sign up for this tour. The flyer says the three-day itinerary mainly covers five scenic spots , with no extra expenses. This clearly indicates a pure play tour, no listening required. Another attractive feature is that the group stays in the same hotel for both nights , eliminating the hassle of lugging luggage around. I arrived at Gate 2 of Futian Port at 8:30 this morning and checked in with the tour guide . After roll call with Flagman #6 from the Zhouyou Holiday group, the tour guide gave me this welcome card. It listed my seat number on the tour bus, my table number for dinner, and my group number. Most importantly, it had the tour guide’s name and contact information. If I had any questions, I could call him immediately . Besides the welcome card, the tour guide also gave us a note and a fan. After roll call, the tour guide took us to the tour bus stop. If you’ve ever met at the Futian Port, you know it takes about five minutes to walk to the stop. You also have to carry your luggage across several streets, which is quite annoying. As you all know, we were invited by the Jiangxi government to visit Dingnan for three days. I was a full-time tour guide assigned by the company. My name is Yao Feng, you can call me Xiao Yao , Yao Dao, or A Feng. If you really can’t remember my name, it’s okay. Just change it to flag number 6. I’m flag number 6. Flag number 6 is me. Because there is an unwritten rule in the tourism industry that everyone has a unique number. Full- time workers have one, while part- time workers don’t. If you want to get the 540 yuan, there is a requirement. First of all, don’t worry , they won’t take you shopping. Don’t worry about that. Their only requirement is that we must punch in and out at every scene, every attraction, and every restaurant, and report it . Then we can check it and get the 540 yuan. No problem, no problem , just cooperate, okay? You can post it on your Moments . One is from the car, saying that we’ve arrived now. For example, we have a scenic spot called the first scenic spot is called Longgui Lake. After arriving at Longgui Lake, the driver drove the car to the parking lot. Everyone, please don’t get off the car yet . I will take a photo .
The photo has the date and time written on it , and there is also a location written on it, which is Longgui Lake Scenic Area. I will take a photo. After everyone gets off the car, I will take one last photo. We 37 people, 37 black people, will take a photo together. Then, while everyone is touring, I will secretly take another photo. Okay, we will start from Shenzhen Futian Port and will first pass through a service station called Taimei Service Station. We will stay here for about 15 minutes to let the group members go to the restroom. After going to the service area, we will get back on the tour bus and continue the journey. During the drive, the tour guide will give each of our group members a We were given a bottle of drinking water and there was also a snack tasting session. We were given a few snacks to try and decide to buy them after trying them. There was no forced purchase . It was purely an in-car sale. In addition to snacks, the tour guide also had some soup dumplings to sell to our group members. The tour guide did not force the group members to buy them. If they thought they were suitable, they could buy them. I didn’t buy anything because it didn’t suit me. At 12:30 noon, we arrived at Xinkunxin Restaurant in Heyuan for lunch. The restaurant first served this soup, which was five-finger ginseng pork bone soup , and this soy sauce chicken. The taste was just okay. There was also this bowl of potato noodles. What was this plate of bun? It turned out to be lotus seed buns. There were other dishes, so I won’t talk about them one by one , but overall, the group meal this time was good, at least this These dishes were very suitable for our group members. The fruit for the last meal was watermelon. After we finished eating, we got on the bus and drove for about an hour to Dingnan Service Area . We were asked to get off the bus to use the restroom . At three o’clock in the afternoon, we arrived at the first scenic spot of the entire trip , Longgui Lake. After we got off the bus, the whole group of group members asked the tour guide to take pictures because the local government subsidized the taking of pictures, which was understandable. When we got here , it rained heavily in Dingnan. The umbrellas at the first scenic spot were all soaked. Fortunately, the rain only lasted for more than ten minutes and then stopped. Then I could put away my umbrella and continue to appreciate Longgui Lake. Of course, I had to use the drone when the rain stopped, so I took some pictures for everyone to enjoy. After we went to Longgui Lake, we sat for more than ten minutes. The drive brings us to the second scenic spot, Mingyuandi. Mingyuandi was built in 1846, the 26th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. It was built by the ancestors of the Xie family. It combines the home, treasure, ancestral hall, inner courtyard and gate into one. It is a Hakka walled house in southern Jiangxi. It covers an area of 2,359 square meters and originally had 168 rooms . It can accommodate more than 200 people at a time . Mingyuandi adopts the form of a large walled house within a small walled house . It has three entrances, three halls and two wells in front and back. It is the only Hakka walled house in southern Jiangxi with six watchtowers . The structure is warm in winter and cool in summer. It pays attention to drainage. It is an ideal residence for Hakka people to reproduce and thrive. Mingyuandi was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangxi Province in 2012 and was selected as a Chinese World Culture Outside Mingyuan Palace, a heritage site on the preliminary list , there’s a crescent-shaped pond , also known as a feng shui pond. In traditional Hakka architecture, a semicircular pond, lower than the main building, is typically placed near ponds, halls, and gates. Its main functions are to cultivate feng shui and to prevent fires . After visiting Mingyuan Palace , we took a ten-minute drive to Jinyue Restaurant for dinner. It was only five o’clock , so early was unexpected . However, the group meal was quite rich for the 69 yuan fee , and the dishes were very suitable for our group. My fellow group members at the same table said they were very satisfied with the meal . This dinner consisted of ten dishes and a soup, so overall, I think it was pretty good. If I were really picky, This fish dish had so many delicate bones in it that people basically spat them out more than they ate them. We ended up eating here for an hour before getting back on the tour bus and heading to the hotel. Around 6:30 p.m., we checked into the Walton International Hotel. Our group would stay two nights in this hotel , so we could enjoy it slowly. This hotel is relatively new and clean , so the rooms are very well designed in every way. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to do near the hotel, so if you want to go shopping, eat , or get a massage, you’ll have to call a car. The tour guide quickly distributed room cards to our group members and gave us breakfast coupons for the next day. I stayed in rooms 13 and 12 this time , but don’t think I was staying on the 13th floor. I was actually on the 3rd floor. I was really surprised to get a room in this hotel for just 69 yuan. The room is very square and spacious. This time I stayed in a king-size room. Although the king-size bed is just two single beds put together, it’s still quite spacious. There’s a table near the window for people to sit and eat. On the table are green and black tea leaves for making tea. There’s an electric kettle and four Nongfu Spring drinking water tanks. There’s also coffee powder provided. After looking at the dorm area, we went into the bathroom. First, we saw the washbasin. There was a large mirror. Next to it were disposable cleaning supplies like toothbrushes and razors. This is the hair dryer they use in the room , but I don’t know what brand it is. Finally, there’s the shower and toilet. The shower has plenty of hot water and stable water pressure. Shampoo and shower gel are also provided. It rained heavily on our first night. So I didn’t go out. Instead, I rested in the hotel room and watched TV . There were no Hong Kong TV stations, but I could watch other domestic TV stations. The next morning at seven o’clock, I got up and went to the basement of the hotel to enjoy the hotel’s buffet breakfast. The buffet breakfast is served from seven to nine thirty in the morning. I didn’t expect that the hotel buffet breakfast here has so many food choices. Here we will see a noodle stall with several types of noodles for everyone to choose from. Next to it is the fried egg area. The chef will keep frying eggs because he knows that many people like to eat it. Then this area is the hot dish area. There are more than ten hot dishes for everyone to choose from, including steamed buns, several stir-fried dishes , and three cold snacks . There are boiled eggs and fried dumplings here. I didn’t expect that there would be stewed soup for breakfast. I didn’t expect that there would be stewed soup for breakfast. It’s amazing. There are also several types of bread next to it. There are fried dough sticks and spring rolls , so of course there is porridge. There are two types of porridge and beef soup. Here we can see small egg tarts. For fruits, they provide cherry tomatoes and watermelons. Finally, for drinks, there is hot milk and two types of hot tea. There is also a coffee machine for people to make coffee to refresh themselves. After breakfast, we set off from the hotel at ten o’clock in the morning to go to the attractions of the next day. We took a fifteen-minute drive to Dingnan Window. Dingnan Window was built according to the national 4A-level tourist attraction standards and integrates multiple functions such as leisure, entertainment, sightseeing, fitness, etc. In fact, our group members came here to take pictures, take a walk , and read some information about Dingnan Hakka. Since we had a 45-minute stay , I used a drone to take some pictures to show you the overall picture of Dingnan Window . We spent about half a minute at Dingnan Window . After an hour’s drive, we arrived at Taoyuan Paradise. Like the other scenic spots mentioned above , we had to take group photos as a record. However, there was nothing to see in Taoyuan Paradise. It seemed like a deserted scenic spot. Our group members walked around the lake and finished. At noon, we had lunch at a restaurant in Taoyuan Paradise. This meal was quite special. Each table in the restaurant was given a pot of Hakka sweet wine to enjoy. At the same time, we also had a bowl of soup , which was kelp and pork bone soup. Then there was a plate of Hakka salted chicken , a plate of beer duck, braised pork with preserved vegetables, steamed egg , this slightly spicy tofu and winter melon, and this plate of steamed fish. They all had a bit of bone in them , and pumpkin. Finally, there was stir-fried vegetables . After dinner, we took about a 20-minute drive to the Hakka Ancient City. The Hakka Ancient City Scenic Area is located in the old town, old town village and Guang in Dingnan. Heping County in Dong Province is just across the mountain from Laocheng Village, the seat of Dingnan Ancient County . It was founded in the third year of the Longqing reign of the Ming Dynasty, that is, in 1569. It has a history of more than 450 years. The ancient city has completely preserved the layout, regulations and functions of the ancient county town. It has important historical value for the study of Hakka culture and the planning of the county town in the Ming Dynasty. There are many places in the Hakka Ancient City for tourists to take photos and check in. There are also many restaurants and small shops for tourists to taste Hakka cuisine , and occasionally there are intangible Hakka ethnic performances. The ancient city has also rebuilt ancient buildings such as Guandi Temple and Chengwang Temple. The layout of the nine streets and five alleys in the ancient city is basically preserved, and the historical appearance of the ancient city at that time is restored as much as possible. Finally, since the weather was so good, of course we had to use a drone to appreciate the overall picture of the Hakka Ancient City from a bird’s eye view. After staying there for about an hour and a half, we slowly walked to the tourist bus stop and got on the bus . The next attraction we will go to is Dingnan Food Street. We will stay here for about 45 minutes at our own leisure . There is a Great World Shopping Plaza with a supermarket inside. Because the temperature on this street is over 30 degrees Celsius , many group members choose to go into the supermarket to cool down. After walking around, we went to a market nearby . This market is open-air, so it will be quite hot. This market generally sells fruits and vegetables. If walking in the market is not for you, there are tea shops and coffee shops here, such as Luckin Coffee, Heytea , Auntie Lushang, Mixue Ice City , and fast food restaurants such as China Hamburger Tustin. I had afternoon tea here first , which cost only 19 yuan. It turned out that there were many cooked food stalls on this pedestrian street at about night time. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to take the tour bus back to the hotel. We returned to the hotel before five o’clock. The tour guide told us that we could rest in the hotel room and then have dinner in the basement of the hotel at six o’clock. Dinner was a group meal and we only ate it in the hotel restaurant. First, the staff served us soup, and then this plate of chicken. I found that it is very popular to serve chicken here. There are also several fried foods. This one is fried eggplant , and this one seems to be fried rice cake. This one is fried again. This one is duck, but it is minced. There are other dishes that are very suitable for the appetite of our group members. In fact, overall, they are all good. After eating, I took a taxi to go to the nearby shopping mall for a walk. The taxi cost about 8 yuan. It is not expensive. If you take a group, it is more worthwhile. I went shopping at Hongchang Ronghui Plaza. There were many locals walking around in this shopping mall. There are quite a few tea shops here, including Gu Ming Ba Wang Cha Ji, and a bakery called Feier Xue. There are also some boutique figurine shops here. As a shopping mall, there are of course many supermarkets here. This supermarket is crowded with many locals. Mid -Autumn Festival is approaching. The supermarket sells different styles of mooncakes. The mooncake styles are cheap and expensive. Some are sold in bulk , while others are sold in barrels. Canned mooncakes are rare. The supermarket also sells different dried goods, such as black fungus, dried shiitake mushrooms, and velvet antler mushrooms. A bag is 24.9 yuan. Here we can see Guangxi bamboo shoots and thin pieces of pig skin . Original bean curd skin is 14.9 yuan a bag, and there are also thin strips of bean curd skin, tea tree mushrooms, bamboo fungus, and kelp 500 grams for 8.9 yuan. They are sold in bundles. There are more people in the fruit and vegetable section and cut fruit. They’re all very cheap. For example, this box of cantaloupe is 4 yuan after discount. There’s also ginseng fruit for 5 yuan for 500 grams , and these crisp green plums for 8 yuan for 500 grams. It turns out they’re having a 40% discount. Finally, we saw grapes : Xinjiang Black Beauty grapes for 6 yuan for 500 grams, and Sunshine Rose grapes for 5 yuan for 500 grams. On the third day of our trip, we enjoyed the hotel’s buffet breakfast at 7 a.m., then at 9 a.m., we packed our luggage and returned to the hotel lobby to check out. We then boarded the tour bus and prepared to depart for the third day’s itinerary. After taking group photos, our group members prepared to take a small sightseeing bus to the pier. The sightseeing bus is actually at your own expense, 10 yuan round trip . If you don’t want to pay, you can just walk there slowly. It’s about a three-minute ride. It’s called a more comfortable experience, as we didn’t have to walk so hard. The weather was so good that day , so the pier was particularly beautiful. There were several signs here for everyone to take photos. I didn’t know that this year marks the 60th anniversary of Dongjiang water supply to Hong Kong, so Dingnan is the source of Dongjiang water. There are boats at the pier that can take you to roam the Jiuqu River, but it’s 50 yuan per person at your own expense . Many of my group members participated, so of course I joined them too . We both took one . The boat stated that it could accommodate a maximum of 45 people, but during the tour holiday, there were two groups at the pier with more than 50 people combined. Was it considered overloaded? I saw the tour guide asked the staff on the boat, but they said it was no problem, more than 50 people were allowed. I really hope their boat really has enough life jackets, so don’t overload for the sake of profit. After talking about the boat … Let’s talk about Jiuqu River. Jiuqu River is the source of Dongjiang River and the mother river of Guangdong and Hong Kong people. It is also one of the national tourist attractions with the significance of drinking water and remembering the source of water for Hong Kong compatriots. Therefore, everyone who comes to Dingnan will definitely come to Jiuqu River for a tour. After we got off the boat, there was another small episode. Our group members were already sitting in a small sightseeing car and were about to return to the original position. Unexpectedly, the driver came over and told us that we had to get off the car because some leaders wanted to get on the car and asked them to go first. Of course, our reaction was very intense. Our tour guides were very responsible and argued with the driver. In the end, the group of so-called leaders walked away by themselves. This year is 2025. Is there still such a thing as letting leaders go first? When a real leader sees such a situation, he will get off the car and walk away without arguing with you to take a photo. Can he continue to work? My driver is not okay, so I need to get off
the bus and complain to him. We returned to where we got on the bus. There was a restaurant nearby where we would have lunch. Just like previous group meals, we would start with a soup. Don’t be fooled by the fact that this dish looks like chicken, it’s actually duck. We also had a Hakka stuffed tofu, braised pork with preserved vegetables, and eggplant . There was also a bowl of oil-soaked meatballs, stir-fried bean curd sheets, and finally steamed fish. After we had our fill, we boarded the tour bus back to Shenzhen. At 1:45 p.m., the tour bus arrived at the Zhongxin Service Area in Heyuan and let us go to the restroom. Then we drove for over an hour and arrived at this Heyuan specialty store at 3 o’clock. Let everyone buy things here. The products here are very affordable, so it attracted many group members to buy things here. I also took some photos of the products sold here for your reference. The tour guide then told everyone Group members distributed this pack of Heyuan specialty Bawanghua rice noodles. At about 5 o’clock, we arrived at the Jieguang Service Area and went to the restroom. When we returned to Shenzhen, the tour bus was stuck in traffic for a long time and arrived at Futian Port at about 7 o’clock. We disbanded here. Finally, let me talk about the cost of this group. The group fee per person is 69 yuan, and the tour guide service fee is 130 yuan per day , so the total cost for three days is 390 yuan. The total cost per person is 459 Hong Kong dollars plus 60 yuan. Finally, when everyone signs up for the group, the travel agency may charge you for insurance, but this is not mandatory and it depends on your personal situation. If you sign up alone or want to stay in a hotel room alone, you will need to pay the room difference fee. You can inquire about the room difference fee from the travel agency.
