Nagoya Station Taikoguchi: Exploring the Changing Face of Nagoya
I traveled to Osaka and Nagoya with the goals of visiting the Expo and trying out bike touring using public transportation.
From Osaka, I moved on to Nagoya. I wasn’t able to film much in Osaka, but in Nagoya I managed to walk around a bit more and capture some scenes.
The final stop of this Osaka–Nagoya trip was the Taikōguchi side of Nagoya Station. The area is currently undergoing redevelopment in preparation for the opening of the Chūō Shinkansen (Linear). Before the redevelopment, it had a slightly shady but unique atmosphere that gave it a certain charm. Now, however, it feels like the area has completely changed.

さすが地方都市ですね。
名古屋って予想以上に廃れた街ですね。
三大都市名古屋！やはり地方とは訳が違う！
駅裏は80～90年代ピンサロやエロマッサージなどの風俗店がいっぱいあったが、愛知万博のおかげで2000年代に入って一掃されて賑わいが無くなってしまった。
最近ではリニアの工事や再開発でビルがどんどん無くなって塀で囲われて立ち寄りずらい場所になってしまった。
生きているあいだに工事が終わってきれいになった駅裏を見ることができるのだろうか．．．
新宿西口や名駅東口の再開発も早く終わって欲しいな！
