4K【桑名駅周辺を散策】古くは東海道の宿場町、そしてJRや近鉄・養老鉄道・三岐鉄道が乗り入れる交通の要所として発展してきた桑名駅周辺を散策してきました

Hello, it’s Fuuyan. Today I’m in Kuwana city, Mie prefecture . I’m at the ticket gate of Kuwana station. Kuwana is home to four railway stations: JR, Kintetsu, Yoro Railway, and Sangi Railway. This is the Yoro Railway ticket gate . Here is the Kintetsu ticket gate . As I leave the station and head north, I see this abandoned building. This is a multi-use building called “Souei Mate,” which was once a stylish and popular building, but is scheduled to be demolished in 2025. It seems there used to be something here, but now it’s just a vacant lot. This is the bus terminal, and the Sangi Railway ticket gate is here . By the way, the Sangi Railway Hokusei Line is located here, just like the Asunarou Railway in Yokkaichi. It’s a narrow gauge station, which is rare these days. The pedestrian bridge you can see on the right is closed to traffic. I’m sure they’ll be redeveloping the area from Kuwaei Mate to the bus terminal. This is a building called “Sunfare” that I could see in front of the station. There are quite a few tenants on the road side, so I’ll go inside. It doesn’t seem to be because it’s a weekday, as there are many vacant stores. This is an employment transition support facility. Normally, you wouldn’t set up an office in a place with high rent, but it looks like they’ve rented two rooms. Is the rent so cheap even though it’s so close to the station? 帰りました。 English : Kuwana is within commuting distance of Nagoya and is also famous as a bedroom town, but perhaps people go to Nagoya for shopping. I don’t know why, but it doesn’t seem like a great place for shopping. I’ve reached the northern end of the street in front of the station and am walking towards National Route 1. I come across an old shopping street. I’ll try walking around. The stores with names written on the lanterns are probably long-established stores. Since it’s a weekday afternoon, many of the stores are closed. This is Ichibangai. The aisles are wider than before and it’s a little more lively. This corner is lined with night shops. This is Nishiki Inari. This street is named Nishiki Dori, but it seems to come from this Inari. I’ve come out onto National Route 1. Turn right here and continue on to the ruins of Kuwana Castle. Kuwana Castle was the castle where Honda Tadakatsu, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Tokugawa shogunate, was the lord. This is the main store of Nagamochiya, a long-established shop famous for its “An’ei Mochi” mochi. But to be honest, I prefer Nagamochi from Sasaiya in Yokkaichi. The road becomes two lanes from here, so I’ll go back. Actually, I had a meal in the shopping street I was in earlier. YOU TUBE-style would like to include some gourmet food, but I’ll cut it out because there were a few things that weren’t quite right. I want to share my honest opinion, but I don’t want to say anything bad about the restaurants. Looking at it like this, the area along Route 1 looks more urban than the area in front of the station. If you turn right here, you’ll reach Kuwana Station. Kuwana City Hotel and Apita are at the back. If you turn right here, you’ll be heading towards Kuwana Interchange on the Tomei-Meihan Expressway. You’ll see the Buddhist altar shop “Nagataya” on the corner. For some reason, there are a lot of Buddhist altar shops in Kuwana . Coffee” is a privately owned shop, but it’s a popular establishment with five locations. On the left is Kuwana City Hall. I’d like to see the old street here as well. This appears to be a junior high school. There’s a shrine, so I’ll go in. This is “Shoichii Koyasu Inari Daimyojin” and this is “Tatezaka Shrine.” It’s said that Honda Tadakatsu, the lord of Kuwana, revered it. Many buildings around Kuwana-juku were burned down during the war, but this one is said to have escaped the fires. If you go this way, you’ll come to Masuo Station. We’re heading towards Route 1 again. The buildings on both sides of the road you can see in front of you are symmetrical, and it’s easy to tell by looking at the shape of the roofs. Let’s walk along the old Tokaido road. The narrower road is the Tokaido. I won’t go into detail, but this street is full of temples. I’m sure this is where the festival floats are kept. Kuwana is famous for the Ishitori Festival, which is said to be the noisiest in Japan. By the way, the Tokaido road in Kuwana city is quite winding and complicated. It’s said that Kuwana Castle’s defensive strength is greater than Osaka Castle’s, so perhaps this is related to the road’s winding complexity. It’s almost worrying without signposts. There’s also a Buddhist altar shop here. A Japanese-style cafe. It would be cool to have water flowing. And here’s another Buddhist altar shop here . This is Teramachi Dori Shopping Street, which I introduced in the previous video. How did you enjoy today’s stroll around town? I’ll continue to introduce various places, so if you’d like, please subscribe to my channel and wait. Until next time…
