【長崎観光】ここコスパ最強!佐世保市のグルメと観光を堪能する長崎ドライブ旅行が最高すぎた
A view said to be the most beautiful in the world A vast, breathtaking spot overflowing with a sense of freedom An exquisite local burger Mainland Japan The view from the westernmost point of mainland Japan A slightly awkward illumination spot walking alone Sushi with a new texture A mystical sunset spot that will have you daydreaming This is why I can’t stop traveling Hello, my name is Bien I got hooked on traveling for some reason and now I travel 2-3 times a month My destination this time is Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture Sasebo City is located in the northern part of Nagasaki Prefecture A town blessed with abundant nature and a cosmopolitan port town It is also home to Huis Ten Bosch, one of Japan’s largest theme parks This time I would like to enjoy Sasebo City on a solo drive Please watch until the end Arrival and departure at Haneda Airport It takes about 100 minutes to travel from Haneda Airport to Nagasaki Airport I didn’t get much sleep this time, so I was just staring blankly at the scenery I entered Nagasaki Prefecture Looking at the scenery from the sky like this, I wanted to use a drone I’m so excited to be back in Nagasaki Prefecture! I landed at Nagasaki Airport and am looking forward to enjoying my first visit there in about a year. I’m off to get my rental car. Nagasaki Airport is like a remote island, and I have to cross a very long bridge. I couldn’t time it to catch the rental car shuttle bus, so I’ll take a taxi. I ‘ve arrived in Nagasaki Prefecture . This time, it’s been a while since my last Kyushu live tour . My last two trips were to remote islands (Ishigaki Island to Amami Oshima) , so I didn’t have much driving time, but this time it’s a long solo driving trip, so I’m going to take some breaks here and there. I’ll go all the way from Nagasaki Airport to Sasebo City , going around the Sasebo area and Hirado City, then back to the airport via Nagasaki City . I’ll spend three days sightseeing in Nagasaki Prefecture. I visited Nagasaki City and Unzen City last year , so this year I’ll be visiting areas I haven’t been to yet . My first destination is around Sasebo Station , which is 44km away, so about an hour and a half. That’s crazy! Is that the sound of cicadas? I can hear them even with the windows down . Isn’t that crazy? The sound of these cicadas, wow, it’s summer. The cicadas are really loud. We drove about 5km . The scenery changed completely. The greenery is so beautiful. However, there are no convenience stores . I should have stopped at Lawson earlier. I don’t have any drinks… I found a Family Mart with 39km to go. I’ll go get some drinks at Family Mart first before going. Oh, that reminds me, this is my first time going down this side. The scenery is quite nice. I wonder how it will turn out with the navigation route. I wonder if this is a pattern where they don’t use the expressway . I have no sense of the land so I have no idea, but it’s amazing . Is that Omura Bay on the left ? The view is amazing ! The view on the left is so spectacular ! I wonder if it’s just barely in the camera’s frame! There’s a train track here! I think it’s called the Omura Line! It’s a very close road, so the view is amazing! It’s like Shimonada Station in Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku. I think you can take photos of stations around here that look like Shimonada Station. I thought there might be some traffic on the local roads, but I don’t know the area so I just have to follow the navigation system. Ah, Nagasaki Champon! Nagasaki Champon! I can see Ringer Hut! Wow, this is a roadside station! It’s huge (Roadside Station Sonoginosho). I wonder if tea is a local specialty, the best in Japan! I’ve arrived at a point 26km from my destination (that’s a bit of a tricky number). The view is great all the way (the best driving course). I think the view will be great all the way to Sasebo . When traveling alone, it’s actually better to take the back roads like this . You can see the scenery better on the back roads and you don’t get sleepy. Curves and traffic lights mean you don’t get sleepy, so it might be better. I really get sleepy on the highway, so traveling alone is only risky if you get sleepy. lol This is National Route 205, it’s really amazing, the view is great all the way. This road is right along the Omura Bay, the view is really open, and it would be emotional to take a picture of a train going by. I’ve been driving at around 50km all this time , but my estimated arrival time is getting earlier and earlier. It’s gotten a lot shorter, even by 20 minutes . Maybe the navigation system is just messed up. From here, I enter Kawatana Town and enter Sasebo City. My destination is 17km away (surprisingly far). My first destination today is a gourmet destination, right near Sasebo Central Station. There is a shop selling the original Sasebo burger, so I went there. Apparently it gets very crowded even during the day on a weekday, so I made a reservation for takeout in advance and chose takeout instead of eating in. On the left is Huis Ten Bosch Station . I went to Huis Ten Bosch last year, but it’s a bit too much for a solo male traveler, so I’m going to visit Sasebo City, but I’ll be sightseeing further north, closer to the sea . I’ll be there in 10km. I wonder what the area around Sasebo Station is like. Is it quite prosperous? For now, there are a lot of mountains in the background. I wonder if the town suddenly appears suddenly. Up ahead is the Nishi -Kyushu Expressway. Here, heading towards Hirado/Sasebo, I discovered Sasebo Fifth Avenue on the Nishikyushu Expressway . It ‘s a really big commercial facility (like Aeon?). I’m 0.5km away and almost there, but I do n’t know where to go . It’s prosperous. There are so many traffic lights that for a moment I didn’t know which way to go. I got there too early, so maybe the hamburgers aren’t ready yet. Is this a parking lot? Oh no, I just passed it. Oh no, there’s
some kind of shopping street here (Saruku City 403 Arcade?). Anyway, oh no, the parking lot in front is full. Where should I park my car? Amazing! It’s a really long shopping street, I’m a parking refugee. This place is full !食べましたら、大倉孝二の北端から南端まで、東北本線・陸羽東線を乗り継いで 旅をしてきました。 English: This place is full too . There are plenty of parking lots, but they’re often full. It’s a bit far to walk from here . Finally, I found a parking space right across from the store that was empty (maybe because it’s expensive lol). In search of a Sasebo burger, I came to Big Man Kamigyomachi Main Branch. This long-established hamburger shop was founded in 1970. Opening hours are from 9am to 8pm. It seems to get busy at lunchtime even on weekdays, so I pre-ordered for takeout this time. Reservations can only be made the day before on the official LINE. Since it was my first time, I bought the original bacon and egg burger . Got a hamburger! Shall we move on ? This place is more urban, or rather more prosperous, than I expected, and all the parking lots are paid. It would be weird to eat in this parking lot, so I went to the seaside park I passed earlier … is it called something like Seaside Park ? I think I’ll go around there for a bit . There’s a ferry terminal here and there are so many parking lots I can’t tell which ones to go to. All the parking lots around here are empty. Is it like the ferry terminal and Seaside Park? The terminal parking lot , what? This is a monthly rental , bad I have to go to the toilet so close I can’t think straight (I’ve been holding it in for so long) I ‘m losing my mind First of all , where is the toilet ? First of all , I parked here for 100 yen for 30 minutes Great I’ve arrived First of all, I have to go to the toilet I thought I’d eat while looking at the ocean view but it’s too hot so I guess I’ll have to stay in the car (about 35 degrees?) So I’m going to eat right away I ordered a really thick Big Man Bacon Egg Burger and a single order of fried chicken fries this time, not as a set It has a unique design So now I’m going to try it and it’s delicious! The size is just right, you can eat it quickly. The burger is amazing, it’s a huge, thick original bacon egg burger . The mayonnaise is delicious. The mayonnaise in Big Man’s hamburger apparently has apples as a secret ingredient. The eggs are from Shimabara, Nagasaki Prefecture, and they use a special mayonnaise. It was delicious. Maybe because it was 11 o’clock, and today is Wednesday , there were seats available. It seemed like you could eat in. Parking is an issue if you go by car, but the parking lot across the street is 200 yen for 20 minutes, which is expensive, like the price of the hamburger plus 200 yen. I guess that would be the case if I ordered takeout, but if I stay for an hour or so, the parking fee doubles, so if you take that into consideration, I’ll probably walk here or get takeout (if I’m traveling alone). I finished it in no time. I was thinking of getting the teriyaki burger, but I’m glad I went with the number one popular bacon and egg burger. The acidity of the tomato and mayonnaise were delicious. The flavor was strong, but not cloying. I was able to finish it all without feeling heavy (I was underestimating the Sasebo burger) . This fried chicken is delicious . You should definitely order it. I wonder if the fries are good too. I should have bought fries too. Anyway, this fried chicken is really good. It’s half – sized, so it’s pretty good. How much was it? A single hamburger and this fried chicken, for a bacon and egg burger, is 1,000 yen, and half a fried chicken is 450 yen, for a total of 1,450 yen. It’s expensive compared to McDonald’s, but if you think of it as a local specialty at a travel destination, it ‘s pretty good value for money. It’s half-sized, but there’s quite a lot, so 450 yen for this is pretty cheap, isn’t it? As for the burgers, local burgers are also hamburgers. There are places where just the burger costs 2000 yen, so if you think about it , the price is pretty reasonable. So that was the Sasebo Burger (the Big Man was delicious). First, I ‘m thinking of going a little further northwest and taking a drive to see the tourist spots and observation decks. This area is also thriving and there are a lot of things that interest me, but I think I’ll leave it for the night. So I left Sasebo city and headed for a scenic spot along the coast. I could see the ocean from the mountains. It’s a really unique view. Apparently there is an observation deck about 3km further from here , and there are also restaurants. This area is also famous for lemon steak . At first I was wondering whether to go to a lemon steak restaurant, but I was hungry and thought it would be too heavy, and since I wanted to eat a burger in Sasebo, I decided on a burger . However, on this trip I wanted to eat sushi or sashimi for three days in a row, so I had to decide whether to have it for lunch or dinner. It’s seafood, right? Like sushi or sashimi. 1.6km away is the parking lot for the observation deck. Wow, I wonder what it’s like, are there a lot of bugs this time of year (4th week of July). There was a Tenkaiho sign. I found the entrance . There was an easy-to-understand sign, and I wondered if I could climb up to the parking lot and then walk from there ! I caught a glimpse of it. I got a glimpse of the view to the side, and wow, the parking lot is really spacious. We arrived at the Tenkaiho parking lot. We climbed from here and this was the observation deck. The most beautiful bay in the world, the Kujukushima bay. I thought it was Tsukumo Island, but it’s actually the Kujukushima. It’s cool in the shade, but the moment you step out into the sun… it’s damn hot. The path to the observation deck is like this. As soon as you climb, there are bees everywhere. One of them flew into me. Damn , I got attacked by a bee. We’ve arrived at the observation deck. If you go up these stairs, a spectacular view is waiting for you. Wow, we’ve arrived. Tenkaiho is located at an altitude of 165m, and is an observation deck where you can enjoy a 180-degree view of the Kujukushima Islands . : The Jukyushima Islands are a scenic spot made up of a complex and intricate ria coastline and 208 large and small islands that stretch out to the westernmost tip of mainland Japan. “Kujuku” does not refer to the number of islands, but rather to countless. This area, which has the highest concentration of islands in Japan, is said to be home to a diverse range of creatures. You can enjoy different scenery depending on the season and time of day, so it’s said to be a spectacular spot you’ll never get bored of, no matter how many times you visit. The scenery was amazing . Next we headed to Kujukushima Tourist Park. Maybe it was because it was so hot that there weren’t many people there? I’m glad I chose this area this time. It’s easy to sightsee alone and take photos. You can walk around freely , but it’s hot. If the temperature was around spring, it would be great. Opening hours are apparently from 8am to 8pm, and in winter it closes at 7pm. Wow, it’s so spacious. Watch out for wild boars . Are there wild boars in such an open area ? Oh , it’s so amazing! Such a vast view ! It’s so spacious it’s a little scary… I wonder where that person was earlier? It feels like I’m the only one in this world ! Amazing view! I’ve never been to a plaza like this before, so it’s great! There are absolutely no trees around, so it’s a little unsettling. Amazing view ! So vast , so vast ! There’s an observation deck over there too. Let’s go a little higher first . There’s a photo stand here! I discovered the Kujukushima monument ! Amazing Kujukushima ! Wow, it’s really amazing ! No matter how many times I look at it, it’s amazing! I wonder if it’s low tide right now? That area and the land are connected. I think I should go down and get a closer look. View! The promenade is pure white and dazzling ! Isn’t the green in the background amazing? Is this another observation deck? It’s a member of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays Club. On April 19, 2018, Kujukushima Bay was certified as a member of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays Club . There aren’t many views like this! This area in Nagasaki Prefecture is a unique sight. A sightseeing boat ! Two boats? (I was mistaken) Maybe I should try a sightseeing boat ride. Next, I’ll head to the very edge of Japan. Actually, here in Nagasaki Prefecture, you’ll find the westernmost point of the mainland. I took a road trip to Oita Prefecture a while ago , and Oita Prefecture was also home to the easternmost point of Kyushu. This time, I’m on the mainland. If you include islands, the westernmost point is somewhere else, but it’s the part that connects to the mainland . The westernmost point of Japan’s mainland is about 30km from here, so I’ll take this opportunity to head to the westernmost point of the mainland . I’ll enjoy my solo trip while taking precautions against heatstroke. It’s important to stay healthy and travel well, so I just happen to see a huge crane. What’s that? Let’s refill some drinks at the convenience store with a 7-Eleven. Oh, it’s crazy, it ‘s so crowded. Is the parking lot full? Oh, lucky I managed to get a space free. Is the highway starting from here again ? Heading towards Matsuura . 20km to my next destination. Heading towards Matsuura . Wow! It’s all curves. I went all the way around and entered the highway. I’m entering the Yumihari Tunnel. Is this a tsunami? The ocean view from earlier has been completely transformed into a mountain scenery. This is the westernmost point of the mainland. 13km to go until our destination . The sushi around here seems to be good. There’s a supermarket conveyor belt sushi restaurant, maybe a local conveyor belt sushi restaurant? Aoba Ramen . Ramen also looks good. Ramen Ikkaku? I guess it’s Hakata ramen. There’s also a Sanuki udon restaurant. Miracle Aoba . Super conveyor belt sushi restaurant. Miracle Aoba peaceful landscape ! I can see the sign. 8km to go until the entrance to the westernmost point of the mainland . Wow! Suddenly, there’s a really mysterious road. A bridge? This is the perfect area for a road trip. After the bridge appears , it’s 4.5km from here onwards , the scenery is beautiful, amazing scenery , with 1.5km to go. The road seems to narrow from here onwards. It’s narrow around here, but there are mirrors, so there are a ton of buzzards. They could snatch that fried chicken from earlier in a second ! A dead end with a sign ? Turn right at the current location sign and turn left just before it . Is that it? Arrival We have arrived at the parking lot It looks like it will be a few minutes’ walk from here We have arrived Kanzaki Nose Park Anyway , so there was a place like this This is on the right Amazing Finally we have arrived There’s even a smartphone stand Amazing Amazing We have arrived at the westernmost point of mainland Japan Wow it looks like this Spectacular view From the westernmost point of the mainland Please subscribe to my channel and rate it highly The surrounding scenery looks like this Maybe I should try going this way on the way back There are a few bees here and there but the breeze is cool What a nice view Amazing view Wow, what a great view Ah I see, so this turns out to be at the underwater promenade sign by the first parking lot So whether you go from the road above or from this coast, the roads are connected so you can go whichever way you prefer It was a nice view I’m glad I made it to the westernmost point of the mainland It’s really difficult to access spots that are so far away ! That’s what I imagined, but it wasn’t like that at all. It should be fine even if it’s been a while since I’ve driven . It’s about 30km from the city center , so it’s a little far, but it won’t take more than an hour. It’s hot, so I found a shop that looks good for ice cream, so I’ll go back about 10km and eat some. I arrived. I’m here. It’s a shop called Eki Kara Ice, near Sasa Station on the Matsuura Railway. You buy tickets here. There are all kinds of varieties. I bought some cookies. I’ll have some soft serve ice cream, which is luxuriously sprinkled with cookies. I happened to find it on Google Maps and headed to the station . Wow , ice cream is great on a hot day. It’s delicious. I think I’ll get sleepy after eating something so sweet. As expected, I’ll get sleepy. Next , I’ll head straight back to the city center and check into the hotel. I’ve arrived. The hotel has quite an exotic atmosphere. It’s a compact single room . It looks good, the size of the table is also good, but there was an outlet underneath, which was good, there are outlets here too , so it’s just right for staying alone, the bathroom and toilet are spacious like this , it’s quite spacious, it’s wide, I took a short break and then… it’s like a lot of time has passed, which is what happens on the first day of a trip, I’m not getting enough sleep, I woke up at 3:30 in the morning, so I’ll take a short nap and then go to dinner, and if I can see the sunset after dinner , I’ll be lucky, I took a 30-minute nap, not at all No, my head is much clearer now. I’m heading for dinner tonight. The traffic jams are pretty bad when you get to this city center. It’s so hard to sleep. The roads are right-turn lanes, not left-turn lanes. If you make a wrong turn, it’s all over, so I need to check the navigation system early. Tonight’s dinner is a sushi restaurant by the sea, with a great view. Across the street from the restaurant is a sightseeing boat dock. It has a great atmosphere. I entered the restaurant. The menu is designed to be easy to read even for foreign customers. I’ll order a set of nigiri sushi and a few individual items. The sushi is prepared so you can enjoy each piece freshly made. I ordered a medium -sized nigiri sushi for 1,430 yen. It’s really cheap. It may be because I came at 5pm on a weekday, but it’s mostly just sushi. Since the sushi was made one-on-one, I felt like I was in an extremely high-class restaurant. Next , I had squid. This is grilled squid with sesame seeds on top , and the texture and flavor were amazing (this kind of sushi). It was my first time eating it. You’re right , I should actually try local cuisine, but I ended up eating sushi. After that, I continued to enjoy each piece of freshly made sushi. Personally, I think it’s good value for money to order a cheaper set like medium sushi and then eat additional items as individual items . There is salt made in Tsushima, Nagasaki. This salt is sweet and delicious. I eat it with salt and sesame without soy sauce. It was incredibly delicious. It’s really sweet. Is sushi from Tsushima also good? Iki and Tsushima have the best fish! Actually, I’m going to Iki Island this year . I don’t have any plans to go to Tsushima yet, but hearing about it makes me want to go. Next, I had salmon . It was my first time eating salmon cut like this. Salmon is the best! We were even given horse mackerel as a complimentary treat, which was also really delicious. After that, I ate conger eel, salmon roe, and ordered refills to enjoy the salmon to the fullest. After the set menu, we enjoyed ordering additional pieces of sushi one by one. This is seared mackerel. They will check if you have any toppings that are not on the set menu, and if the fish is available, they will basically make it into sushi. It’s really great that you can order one piece at a time. I also ordered this squid, which I had just eaten and was impressed with . It’s really delicious. For the last piece, I luxuriously enjoyed eel. The sushi was really good. The simple sushi was also good, but the squid was surprisingly delicious. I had the seared squid with sesame seeds on top. I usually don’t order squid for seconds, but this was the first time. I had a second helping. The sesame flavor was really good. It was fragrant and delicious. It’s now 6:15pm and I’ve come all the way to Sasebo, and there are plenty of observation decks overlooking the west, so I thought I’d watch the sunset, but the sun sets at 7:30pm, so I still have over an hour to spare. I’d be bored and it would be a waste to stay around here for an hour, so I’m running out of time, so I’ll head to Sasebo Station, take some commemorative photos in front of the station, and then head to the observation deck just in time for the sun to set. The setting sun is dazzling . I think there’s a monument like this at the westernmost station on the mainland, so I’ll go and take a look. This is Sasebo Station . I’ve arrived . I saw the Sasebo Station monument . It’s next to Family Mart. I’ve arrived at Sasebo Station, the westernmost station in Japan. Apparently 6,200 people get on and off the station every day. It’s said to be a very lucky charm, as if you stroke the poverty god statue and then stroke the monkey on its head, poverty will go away. On Rokuten Street, right near Sasebo Station, there are two Nagasaki Champon restaurants, Daizen and Koran. However, the restaurant was closed. I’m not sure if it was a regular holiday or closed. It’s a good hour to go and see the sunset. The setting sun was really bright just now, so I have high expectations for the sunset, but in the end it all comes down to what the clouds will be like on the west, far off on the horizon as the sun sets . In the end, if there are thick clouds there, once they sink a little it will seem like you can’t see it, but at the moment the sun is out in full view, so maybe that’s why expectations are high. It’s so bright , and there’s still about 30 minutes until the sun sets. It’s so bright! The sun is still high in the sky, so I wonder what it will be like when it sinks a little more. It ‘s too bright lol. This is bad, this is bad, this is bad. I can’t see the traffic lights very well. There are two observation decks, but I’ll go to the one that doesn’t seem to be crowded and where there won’t be many people. I think I’ll be able to take pictures more freely that way. I go up and it’s at the curve. I think I see . It seems like it would be easier to park on this side and go over the crosswalk. I see . I’ve arrived at Funakoshi Observatory. The sunsets seen from here are said to be very beautiful. The view in the distance is already quite beautiful. It’s a magnificent view that makes you forget you’re in Japan. Even when it’s not sunset time, the view is quite beautiful. The locations where the sun sets at each time of year are listed. The sun gradually sets, and the horizon creates a beautiful gradation. When you take pictures with an iPhone, there are some lines that appear, but this is also very emotional. The number of people gradually increases. The view of the sea. If you like colors and beautiful scenery, please take this opportunity to subscribe to our channel. I spent about 30 to 40 minutes here until the sun went down, but because of the location, there were a lot of mosquitoes and I was bitten in about five places. It was a pretty nice view and it looks amazing with the naked eye, but the camera quality was a bit poor so it looks like a CG or something artificial. But even so, it was a wonderful view. If you are visiting Sasebo on your trip to Nagasaki and the weather is good, you should watch the sunset from Funakoshi Observatory. The sun went down and before I knew it, the scene had become very informative. Wow, it was a wonderful sunset. You should definitely go to a sunset spot ! I haven’t been able to go much because of my travels , but recently… I got bitten by a lot of mosquitoes on my arm… I don’t know because I’m allergic, but when I get bitten by a mosquito , it swells up a lot. The side of my elbow is really swollen and I got bitten in about five places. In such a short time, I got an amazing view. The view of Kujukushima. It’s certainly said to be the most beautiful bay in Japan (not in Japan, but in the world). The sun is just setting, so I think I’ll go and see the illuminations or a little bit of a night view. There are really no cars going at this time of day . It’s a little scary when there aren’t many cars going through a tunnel. And for a moment I can’t tell if it ‘s one way or the other, or if there is oncoming traffic. The atmosphere of this factory at night is also great. It’s like something out of a game. I returned to the city center. Sasebo at night. Sasebo at night. It has an amazing atmosphere. The illuminations are amazing. The illuminations were better than I expected. It ‘s amazing , they cover such a wide area. I wonder where the parking lot is. This is amazing. Where is the parking lot ? I wonder if it’s on camera. It’s amazing. Ah, is this the parking lot? Ah, there was an amazing monument . Sasebo is a great place for tourists. This is the third parking lot of Sasebo Fifth Avenue . We’ve arrived . We ‘re already at the sea. It’s a little eerie. It’s a little scary in the dark. Maybe the camera is capturing images a little brighter than the naked eye. Is that Fifth Avenue in the distance? The ferry terminal with the parking lot where we ate that Sasebo Burger is across from here Wow There are illuminations over here too The road is really wide so it’s great for a walk I also recommend for a night walk This area is the most beautiful If you go to the back there are illuminations over here too Amazing The range of illuminations is much wider than I thought I would I spotted a dinosaur in the back If you’re sightseeing in Sasebo at night you should definitely take a walk around here It had a great atmosphere Parking is free for up to 20 minutes so it was just about free I was lucky It was just right It’s also great for an after-dinner walk It’s sparkling around here This area is made up of students (young people) and about 60% foreigners I think there are a lot of foreigners too I really enjoyed today I’m glad I checked into the hotel early in the evening and took a short nap If I hadn’t taken a nap I would have been so sleepy I would n’t have been able to take a walk like this at night or watch the sunset I was talking to the person from the sushi restaurant from earlier and a customer (a regular?) Sasebo Shikamachi? Apparently there are four towns and three towns. This is four towns. There are so many taxis parked. So maybe this area is that? There are a lot of drinking spots. I’m so sleepy today, so I’ll stop walking! I’m going to sleep. I can’t see the hotel at all when it gets dark. I know the direction of the hotel, but I can see the direction . So I’ve returned to the hotel. I’m going to sleep soundly to prepare for tomorrow. Tomorrow , I’ll enjoy a solo drive trip to Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture. Please subscribe to my channel and rate it highly. Thank you for watching.
