高槻城 北摂津唯一の近世城郭 大阪府 Takatsuki Castle 2025
Today, I’m heading to Takatsuki Castle in Osaka. I’ll get off at Takatsuki Station. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the station to Takatsuki Castle. Takatsuki Castle is famous for being the castle lord of Takayama Ukon during the Sengoku period. Takayama Ukon is known as a Christian feudal lord. First, I’ll stroll through Teramachi. This is Rian-ji Temple. This was the family temple of the Matsudaira clan, who were the lords of Takatsuki Castle. Next, I’ll go to Kosho-ji Temple. Finally, I’ll go to Hongyo-ji Temple. The mountain gate was moved from Takatsuki Castle. There was a statue of Takayama Ukon in a church along the way. This is the site of the residence of Fujii Chikugai, a Chinese poet from the late Edo period. This area was once the Sannomaru, and Nomi Shrine is located here. I’ll visit Nomi Shrine. This is Nagai Shrine, a branch shrine of Nomi Shrine. It enshrines Nagai Naokiyo, the first lord of Takatsuki Domain. The Karamon gate seems to have been built in 1848. It is said that the Nomi Shrine was rebuilt in 1619. This is Mukunoki Daimyojin Shrine, where a giant mulberry tree once stood. A stone from the stables and square gate of Takatsuki Castle is placed here. Continue towards Ninomaru. The historical scenery of Ninomaru has been reproduced around here. There are plans to improve the turrets and square gate in the future . This is the Arts and Culture Theater in the former Ninomaru . We arrived at Takatsuki Castle Park. In the background, you can see the statue of Takayama Ukon. In 1587, Takayama Ukon’s land was confiscated because he continued to practice his faith. Since then, he has been under the protection of the Kaga Maeda family. There is a stone monument and an information board written by local elementary school students. The castle tower base you can see in front is a replica that was built later. The garden around here seems to have been developed in recent years. Were the stones around here made from Takatsuki Castle stones? There are merchant houses from the former castle town. It is now a history and folklore museum. Currently, the main citadel is Tsukinoki High School. I gave up on the tour and decided to look at it from the outside. This is the Shiroato History Museum. Materials related to Takatsuki in the Edo period are on display. There is also a diorama of Takatsuki Castle. The stone walls of Takatsuki Castle are on display near the entrance. Thank you for watching.
