July 5, 2025. My family is working away from home in Shibetsu City. Current location: Tsukumo Suigo Park Campground. Corgi travel, van life with a corgi. Osa, Mama-chan, and Kotaro. Preparing breakfast. Wakame miso soup. Breakfast is ready. Furano miso, a gift from a viewer. Rich and deep, it’s delicious. Later today, there’s an offline meetup for the camper van Arpeggio. This is my first time participating in the Hachizoku Kai, my third year in the club. I’m looking forward to it. The Hachizoku Kai is held at the campground in Mikasayama Nature Park in Wassamu Town. It’s a 30-minute drive from Shibetsu. Tsukumo Suigo Park Campground. Fureai no Mori Campground. Before that, I go to collect some delicious spring water. Outside the roadside station in Kenbuchi Town, there’s a stall I’ve been interested in for a while. Kenbuchi Original Grilled Chicken Thigh. There’s still time before registration opens. I stop for coffee at Mikasayama Park. Mikasayama Nature Park, Children’s World. At this point, the outside temperature was 31°C. We had some grilled chicken thighs we bought at the roadside station. After a break, we headed to the venue. Fureai no Mori Campground. We encountered some viewers. First, we checked in. They were staff from Arpeggio, Kotaro’s favorite band. It was time for the party to begin, so we moved to the BBQ house. We were sleeping in the campground’s parking lot. Dogs are welcome at the Hachizoku Kai. Kotaro made lots of friends. There were over 40 Arpeggio campers. Nearly 100 participants in total. It was an unusually hot day, with temperatures exceeding 30°C even in the evening. Beer tastes great on a day like this . To our delight, a staff member told the participants that we wanted to stream videos as YouTubers. The party began. They grilled Kotaro’s portion without any seasoning. Everyone was so kind, even though it was our first time attending. Everyone was friendly and we had a great conversation. The yakitori and beer were great. Kotaro and Shiba Inu-chan hit it off. Kaneko Butcher Shop’s Wassamu Jingisukan. I wanted to try it because it had a reputation for being delicious. Well-seasoned. It’s a flavor my family likes. Apparently, the child’s Jingisukan comes in three levels of spiciness, so you can choose. Osa eats a lot, though. The classic bingo tournament. There are lots of great prizes. I hope we win. But it’s hard for us to win. It’s hard to get bingo. That’s nice. We’re close, too. Kaneda Butcher Shop’s seasoned premium tripe innards. Tripe carefully prepared by the owner. It’s the most delicious tripe I’ve ever eaten. We got bingo with the 19th prize. The finale was a ‘ippon-jime’ (a traditional Japanese clapping song) by Arpegio’s CEO, Ueshima. There was also an after-party afterward, which was open to everyone, but we couldn’t attend because Kotaro was with us. It was a relaxing evening. My first Hachi-zoku get-together was more fun than I expected. Fellow Arpegio viewers even called out to me. Basking in the afterglow of the fun. Let’s enjoy some more drinks tonight. The next morning. After this, Osa goes to help clean up the BBQ venue. Kotaro has been in a good mood since the morning. The closing ceremony is at 7:00 AM. Breakfast is prepared. Onigiri that weren’t finished at the party. These are also leftover sausages from the night before. Instant noodles instead of miso soup. Breakfast is complete. This summer has been extremely hot, and even northern Hokkaido is hot. Today we head straight to the auto campground in Kenbuchi Town. We use the auto campground once a week while working away from home in Shibetsu City. We charge our sub-battery and portable power source. There’s a delicious-looking pastry shop in Wassamu Town. Fureai no Mori Campground. Futaba-ya Pastry Shop. Futaba-ya Pastry Shop. Cake is a good accompaniment to coffee. They also have homemade bread. Customers keep coming in to buy soft serve ice cream. After that, we plan to relax at the campground in Kenbuchi Town. Futaba-ya Pastry Shop. Lakeside Sakuraoka Auto Campground. Check-in is at the front desk of the adjacent hotel, Lakeside Sakuraoka. It’s hot, so I’m drinking iced coffee. I really want to drink beer soon. I bought a cake from Futaba-ya in Wassamu Town. The soft sponge cake has a gentle flavor of fresh cream. Picture Book Village Family Travel Village, Administration Building. The administration building has a microwave, coin laundry, clean toilets and washrooms. Garbage can be disposed of for a fee. Cooking building. You can enjoy this view once a week during your stay in Shibetsu. Living on the campsite is quite comfortable. The work trip continues tomorrow. Preview of the next episode.
