Japan Kanagawa 4K Walking Tour 2025
Walking around Kanagawa’s local shrines Current location: Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture We are leaving the crowded Kamimizo festival grounds and heading home from this isolated island in the middle of the land. On the way back, we stop by some shrines etc. Your subscription is the beginning of a journey. Let’s go to a new view. The shrine is long We have arrived at Kamegaike Hachiman Shrine. It was founded around 1331. Apparently it was called Kamegaike Hachiman because there were many turtles living in the nearby pond. It’s a big shrine. There is a worship hall in the back. I wonder if you can’t go to the other side. Only for those praying. Maybe it’s just closed because it’s already 6pm. Kamimizo Sengen Shrine. I found it along the way. It seems to be something related to Mount Fuji worship around the Edo period. This road must be an ancient one as well. There are lanterns hanging at the Nijibuki Community Hall. They must be taking part in the festival. Now, let’s look at the aeronautical chart. Walk in the direction of the arrow. The edge of the plateau is in a forest area. Why did they leave this part alone while the surrounding area was developed? We climb the path that goes through the forest. You can hear the cicadas, but occasionally the sounds of bush crickets can be heard mixed in. Finally, we left the forest and came to the plateau. Once you leave the forest, you will come to the vending machine corner of the Sagamihara Used Tire Market, which we visited before. Since I’ve already taken a picture there last time, I’ll just pass by quickly. A collection of retro vending machines. Hmm. Has the tire sales area been expanded here too? Yes, there was something like this. Well, I’ll take some more pictures next time. I’ll leave this area because it looks like it’s closed. That’s all for today. Thank you for watching.
