【世界初公開級!】生き神クマリの貴重な登場シーンを完全密着!ネパールの神秘に迫る ▷ネパールの旅 生き神クマリ編 #06◁
Hello. This is Kohala-chan, the navigator. The evening when Kumari went around the south side of the city to bless her. The night has dawned in Kathmandu. The morning in this city is still calm today. 4th day of Indra Jatra. It is the second day of Kumari Rathyatra. On this day too, Kumari appears before us. And now we’re heading to the north side of town. Whether you know it or not, the alleys in the north of the city are illuminated by the morning sun and are filled with a pleasant atmosphere. Whether it’s a festival day or not, it’s a normal morning in town. Some people sit on the side of the road and sell vegetables, while others come to buy them. The gentle sound of donuts being fried can be heard from the shops on the street, and the sound is mixed with the sound of morning laughter. Most of these people come to the temple to offer their morning prayers. But this place is special. This is a temple dedicated to Akash Bhairav , a god who meets only eight days in a year . A steady stream of people come here, each carrying a year’s worth of gratitude . People walk up a small staircase with offerings in their hands and pray carefully. Then, if you go northeast from the Akash Bhairav intersection, you will see a temple dedicated to Indra on your right. Indra is the god of rain and thunder, also known as the king of the gods. It is the main character of the great festival Indra Jatra. Long ago, Indra came to this earth. This was to fulfill his mother’s wish: “Since there are no Parijat flowers in heaven, I want you to come down to earth and pick them.” Indra, who changed his form into a human and came to this city, unknowingly plucked the “Parijat flower” that was being carefully cultivated by a person named Yomari . Indra was captured by an angry Yomari. Worried, Indra’s mother Dargi comes down to earth and apologizes to Indra for the crime she has committed. In return, Indra promises to give the city rain and morning dew. In this way, the city began to receive a bountiful harvest every year. Yomari was overjoyed and promised to continue the festival at this time every year to give thanks to Indra for giving him a bountiful harvest . That festival is the great festival, Indra Jatra. At the end of the rainy season, people especially give thanks to Indra. Then, as the sun sets on the fourth day of Indra Jatra, the people of this city respectfully return to Indra this year’s extra rains with offerings of gratitude . That marks the end of the rainy season. Now, we have arrived at Durbar Square. Today as well, when the clock strikes 4 o’clock in the evening, the Kumari appears in the middle of this square. Kal Bhairav, the guardian deity, is located near the northern entrance of the square. In front of it, the flame of the candle never dies out. People come here to pray throughout the year . If you look back, you will see Lord Shiva, who is enshrined in the Mahindreshwar Temple on the north side of the square , watching over the square. Maju Dega Temple stands in the middle of the square. Lord Shiva is also worshiped here. Bhairav is also enshrined at the entrance. 2nd day of Kumari Rathyatra. Durbar Square around noon is very quiet and time flows slowly. Last night, Kumari went around the south side of the city, blessing people with prosperity. The golden float on which the Kumari rides is again waiting for its owner in front of the mansion today. The wind picked up and the rain started falling again. After this, the living god Kumari will appear. Drums and cymbals resound in the square. Second day of Kumari Rathyatra. It all started slowly. A parade of carefully selected locals boosts the energy of the square, even in the rain. When the rain stopped and a big rainbow appeared over the city of Kathmandu, a red monster Rakei appeared in the square. Rakei will be dancing again today. It is a dance that cheers up the people of this town who are tired from farming. And on the “road ” that the demons danced and purified , a flag of red fat and gold moves forward. Now, it’s finally time to see Kumari, Nepal’s living goddess. Kumari has appeared. Kumari received prayers and applause from the people of the city and was offered prasada. The float carrying Kumari, the living god, begins to move. Two other floats are waiting behind Kumari’s float. One of them is the float on which the living god Ganesha rides. Ganesha, the living god, appears in this world in the form of a boy. The living god Batuk Bhairav is riding on the other float . It is Bhairav in the form of an innocent child. Ganesha and Batuk Bhairav. On this day as well, the two gods head towards the city one step ahead of the other, with Kumari leading the way. And just when Kumari was about to head to the city, a white elephant came to this square in the middle of Kathmandu. He’s a purkish. Long ago, Indra came down to earth in search of Parijat flowers. The white elephant that Indra was riding was Purkisi. Indra, who came down to this city with Purukisi, made Purukisi wait at the entrance and went into the city in search of flowers. Indra then finds Parijat’s flower garden. Indra was overjoyed and plucked the flower. However, that flower was a flower that was carefully nurtured by a person named Yomari. Indra was captured by an angry Yomari and tied to a wooden pillar in the town square. Meanwhile, at the entrance to the city, Purukisi was worried about Indra, who did not return no matter how long he waited. Unable to stay still or stand still, Purkisi finally came into the city in search of its master. The people of this town find a beautiful white elephant and gather to try to catch it. Purkisi went wild. On the contrary, he searched for Indra, regardless of the people who tried to capture him . And on this day, Purkisi encounters Kumari, the living god. In this way, the white elephant Purukisi and the Living God Kumari appear to be glaring at each other. It also appears that Purkisi is asking Kumari about Indra’s whereabouts. Kumari’s expression doesn’t change at all. The living god Kumari, who is the present form of Kali, the goddess of destruction, has a heart like a lion that never faltered no matter what happens in front of her . As Purkisi, searching for Indra, leaves in a different direction, Kumari finally begins to move into the city. People come together to receive marigold flowers. This is how you receive Kumari’s blessings. The float carrying the Kumari passes in front of the White Palace Gadi Baitak and passes to the right of the Maju Dega Temple. On this day, Kumari heads towards the north of the old city of Kathmandu. It goes around giving prosperity and blessings to the people of the city. A large crowd of people gathered to give thanks and prayers to Kumari as she made her way north of Kathmandu . The square is filled with a warm atmosphere of blessing. That should be it. The people of this town have been waiting for a year to see Kumari, and today it finally happened. People express their gratitude to Kumari for the past year and extend their hands to the blessed marigolds. The float carrying Kumari moves slowly through the crowd, following the path led by Ganesha and Batuk Bhairav. Then, head towards the exit of the plaza. People gathered in the square to see off Kumari forever as she departed north of the city. His expression looks very bright. After leaving the Durbar Square, Kumari continues through the alleys of the city. The bear only appears for three days a year. Kumari appears on the third, fourth and final day of the grand festival of Indra Jatra. And it’s only for a few hours. The Kumari takes its route to the south of the city on the first day of its appearance, and on each of the remaining two days it heads to the north of the city, changing its route slightly . The alleys are crowded with people trying to catch a glimpse of Kumari . The people of the city look at Kumari from the windows and roofs of buildings and express their gratitude. Before long, a large full moon appears in the Kathmandu sky. Kumari’s blessings continue even after the sun sets, the moon rises in its place, and night falls over the city. Meanwhile, Akash Bhairav is dancing in front of the temple where Indra is worshiped . This is a dance of gratitude to Indra, who has given this city sacred rain and morning dew this year as well . After Akash Bhairav has expressed his gratitude for the past year, he concludes by informing Indra of the end of the rainy season. “I have received enough blessings this year, so I will give you back any more rain.” That’s what Indra tells him. In this way, the rain finally returns to the sky, and the city’s long rainy season ends. I wonder if the mother of that shop is doing well. In the evening, the monsoon returned to the Himalayas. And the sun just showed its face, looking a bit embarrassed. However, that warm light quickly blends into the city, like a classroom on the morning after summer vacation . That feeling of elation during a festival turns into a different kind of feeling. I feel like the same old days are returning, but I also feel like each day is new. Today, people continue to spend their days selling vegetables, frying donuts, and riding bicycles . If so, that’s fine. As I was walking along with my feet, the sun, which had seemed so shy just a moment ago, began to set proudly. Yes, let’s go to that store. At that shop that has the most delicious peaches in the world. With that in mind, I turned left at the alley. Look forward to it! Thank you for watching until the end. I would be very happy if you could give me a high rating and subscribe to the channel. Please tell your friends and family too. See you soon. see you later~!
