STORMS and RESCUE in TAHITI

Boats on the rocks in 50 kts of wind in a crowded mooring field! Then, a friend needs help when he lost both motors and is returning to port on a day with no wind. These are typical events that sailors must prepare for when weather is nasty. BioTrek’s mooring is well tested before a trip home. Please check out the Alliance to Cure web site to find out more about cavernous malformations!

  1. Nice to watch Lisa! Beautiful footage of sunset, especially the one in the end! Very nice view, I always greatly enjoy the sunsets. Very funny to see the footage on the airport anchorage in that big squall because I wasn't there and had no idea how bad it was since I was walking the dogs in the park. Was quite a surprise that the approaching greyness had such violent wind in it! I'm glad we could rescue those boats that were on the rocks in the park. And of course help out with the outremer that lost both engines. Cheers from Tikehau!

  2. We only saw the wind 40+ knots, so glad I didn’t know it was 50. Thanks for uploading this, it seemed more dramatic from Biotrek than Jamala.😮

  3. Wow, that storm popped up from nowhere. I'm glad it ended well. The silver lining is that you definitely had a good test of your mooring before leaving BioTrek.

  4. Been sailing on a thunderbird in 60 knots, that was not a lot of fun, especially when the motor didn't start…
