女川四季の祭り最大のイベント「夏」のおながわみなと祭りを観てきました。
宮城県海岸地域では、正月の邪気払いとしての、獅子振り（獅子舞）が多く見られます。
海上獅子舞は「虎は千里を走り還る」という中国の故事にちなみ、 漁に出た家人の無事を願い、また大漁を祈願する意味を加えて行われます。
気仙沼では、そのものの「虎舞」が行われていますね。
獅子を乗せた船は、多数の大漁旗で飾られ、女川湾を周回しながら海上で舞い、着岸後陸上でも舞います。
各浜（地域）事に獅子頭も異なり、違いを楽しむことも出来ます。
