Vol.154 [SUB/4K]
Hello! This is E-Ma. I’m heading to Sendai. This is the last part of the 3-night, 4-day trip to Miyagi, from the 3rd day to the 4th day. I’m going to go sightseeing in Sendai and eat delicious food (´ー`). Please enjoy it with me until the end! It’s already past 15:30, so I head straight to the hotel in Sendai. I’m in front of Sendai Station. It’s the largest city in Tohoku, and there were traffic jams everywhere. I’m returning the car share at night, so I’m staying at a hotel near Sendai Station. I’ve arrived. It’s about a 5-minute walk from Sendai Station. Room 702. Let’s go in! It’s a standard double room. It’s the type of business hotel that we often use. I’ll show you inside the room. The bathtub is spacious (´ー`). The amenities are next to the front desk. There is a coin laundry and an ice machine. The microwave and vending machines were normal prices (´ー`). I went out to eat dinner. There is more greenery just by going a little further from Sendai Station. The weather was good today, so the sky dyed in the sunset is beautiful (*’▽’). I could see my destination on the left. I wanted to go to a place after dinner, so I drove a little further. “Izumi Park Town Tapio”. My destination is inside this shopping center. When you think of Sendai, you think of beef tongue (≧▽≦). Beef tongue and grilled beef skirt steak set meal 2530 yen. Beef tongue set meal 4 pieces (8 slices) 2750 yen. tongue The beef was soft, the saltiness was just right, and it was very delicious (*’▽’). As I went up the hill, I saw a white shadow (゚д゚)! It got bigger and bigger as I got closer (;・∀・). The big white “Sendai Daikannon”. I couldn’t go inside because of the time, but I came to see its size (*’▽’). It’s 100m high. It’s really big when you see it up close ( ゚Д゚). But it’s a bit scary at night (>_<). Next, I head to the "Sendai Castle Ruins" built by the first lord of the Sendai domain, Date Masamune. It is located in a corner of Aobayama at an altitude of about 130m. The castle ruins are now Aobayama Park, and there is a statue of Date Masamune on horseback at the site of the main citadel. I came to see it because it is lit up at night. However, the parking lot at this park is closed until 5pm. I didn't know where to park my car (;´・ω・). I looked it up online and found out that it is open for free at night. The gate to the parking lot was half closed, so I was wondering if it was really okay to go in... Just then, a car came out, so I went in with peace of mind. I felt even more at ease when I saw my car parked in the parking lot (´ー`). I could see the back of Date Masamune, lit up at night. It was a big and magnificent statue on horseback, bigger than I expected (*'▽'). And the night view from here was very beautiful (´ー`). The beautiful night view on the last night of the trip will stay in your mind (´ー`). Good morning! It's the morning of the last day. I went out to buy breakfast. It was the Sendai Morning Market, about a two-minute walk from the hotel. This shopping street is lined with fresh local Miyagi ingredients, truly the "Kitchen of Sendai" (´ー`). I was looking for something that could be good for breakfast, but they didn't have it (^_^;). Most of the customers were foreigners (^_^;). I wanted to buy something from "Korokkeya", but it was closed (._.). I found a rice ball shop (*'▽'). I was finally able to eat breakfast (^.^). I checked out. I came to put my luggage in the coin locker at Sendai Station. I said goodbye to Date Masamune who was inside the station building (=゚ω゚)ノ. AER is a complex building located a one-minute walk from Sendai Station. I went to the observation terrace on the 31st floor of this building. This is the view from the east side of Sendai Station. You can get a good view of the Sendai cityscape (´ー`). Directly below is the Shinkansen. This is the west side of the station. You could also get a good view from the window of the elevator hall. Sendai is a big city surrounded by mountains. You can easily find Sendai Daikannon from here. It has quite a presence (゚Д゚). We could see the ruins of Sendai Castle, but we couldn't see the statue of Date Masamune on horseback. We arrived at the arcade street that continues from in front of Sendai Station. It is the largest arcade street in Tohoku, with six shopping streets lined up on either side of the street, east, west, north and south. This arcade is the venue for the Sendai Tanabata Festival, one of the three major festivals in Tohoku. As we walked through the arcade, we saw a display of floats. These are the Yamaboko floats used in the Sendai Aoba Festival. The Aoba Festival was held the week after our visit. It was a shame that we couldn't see the actual festival (._.). Now, we'll head back towards Sendai Station and look for souvenirs. Abe Kamabokoten is the shop that gave the Sendai specialty "Sasakama" its name. We came here to eat the "Hyotanage" (fried gourd) that is on sale in the store (*'▽'). Hyotanage is 300 yen. It was more delicious than a normal American hot dog and bigger than I expected, so it was filling (*'▽'). Next is the shop "Ocha no Igeta". After looking at souvenirs... I ate a zunda shake in the eat-in space inside the store. Zunda Go Shake 713 yen, Zunda Shake 560 yen. The dumplings were delicious, but the shake was very delicious, so I recommend it! I went back to the station and looked for souvenirs again ( ̄ー ̄). Next, I looked for an ekiben (*´ω`*). It was time to go home. I always feel depressed at the end of a trip. It's strange how just having an ekiben makes me feel better (*'▽'). Miyagi Prefecture is large. There are still many other places I want to go. I'll definitely come back someday (´ー`). Well, I'm going home while eating an ekiben! Did you enjoy our trip to Miyagi with us? I hope this video will be of some help to you.
