Welcome to my channel. This is Shin from FUJI CAMP. This time, I will be bringing you the long-awaited 9-day trip to Hokkaido on a Land Cruiser 250. If you are interested in the driving of a Land Cruiser, the food and sightseeing of Hokkaido, and the beautiful nature, please subscribe and like the channel. We set the mode select of the VX diesel to NORMAL and set off. On the first day, we drove from Tokyo to Sendai Port and took a ferry to Tomakomai, Hokkaido. And on the second day, we finally landed in Hokkaido. The diesel power allows us to easily join the high-speed line with ample torque. We left Tokyo at 10:00 AM, took two breaks on the way, and headed for Sendai. I think it will be evening by the time we arrive at Sendai Port. I can see the ferry terminal in front of me. You will check in here. The second floor is the waiting room for passengers. The dock is narrow, so only the driver can board the car. The name of the ship I will be boarding today is “Kiso.” It is visible ahead. Tomorrow, I am scheduled to arrive at Tomakomai Port at 11:00. Then, I plan to travel around Lake Toya. Finally, I start boarding in my Land Cruiser 250. This is my second time on a ferry, but it’s always exciting no matter how many times I ride. Please take a look for a moment. The entrance to this ship is at the bow. I head to the dock on the fourth floor. I park my car quite close to the rest of the ship, so I pay attention to my surroundings. I make sure not to forget the location of the ELV on the parking deck, and head for my room. My wife should have arrived at my room first. This time, it’s a Japanese-style room. I’m already hungry, so I head to the dinner buffet. I chose zangi, fried onions, salad, salmon and squid sushi, mussels, roast beef, mapo tofu, etc. A menu that is enough to eat on board. After dinner, I went out on deck to look at the night view. Good morning. I used the buffet in the morning to fill my stomach. Outside, it is July, but the temperature is chilly. Now, everyone, are you ready to depart? We have landed in Hokkaido!!! I will pick up my wife. As soon as we landed, we headed straight for the market to find seafood for today’s dinner. This is the same restaurant that we used in February last year. First, scallops, and then crab! We got on the highway and headed for a long-awaited seafood lunch. Next, we are almost there. A sea urchin bowl! Satisfied with our first meal in Hokkaido… My wife had a salmon roe bowl. Looks yummy… So, we headed for Lake Toya to head to our accommodation for the first night. I checked in, full of anticipation, wondering what it would be like. Lake Toya is just across the road from here. And above all, it has beautiful grass. Today’s goal is to go packrafting in the crystal clear Lake Toya. I quickly prepared the packraft I had brought with me. Finally, I adjusted the pressure with a pump. Finally, this is the lake I was looking forward to. What’s it like? ? Wow, the transparency, the lack of any floating debris, takes my breath away. I think it’s even clearer than Lake Motosu. I’m excited by the quiet, fantastical lake with no one around. Can you convey how clear it is? I was overwhelmed by the power of nature, and it was worth coming all the way to Hokkaido. My wife is sleeping on her back on the lake surface. This feels good. I woke her up and she got annoyed, so we ran to the shore quickly. After the nap, we prepared the bed while it was still light. We plan to sleep in the rooftop tent to protect against animals. Actually, the reason we bought the rooftop tent was because This is my second time traveling in Hokkaido in this overland style, but　my wife’s wish has finally come true. But my wife’s wish has finally come true. Overland style is a 4WD that can travel in any condition, rain, snow, or ground, to cross the continent. Please take a look at our last trip to Hokkaido in the freezing cold in February… Even so, the beautiful campsite makes the fatigue of the trip disappear. The birch trees make us feel cool somehow. Since we will be staying for several nights, we will also set up a tarp in preparation for changes in the weather. After setting up the tarp, we will eat the fruits we bought at the market earlier. Melons are ripe and sweet and absolutely delicious! Today I’ve brought along some lighting from CARDO CONTAINER, a manufacturer I personally love, so I’m going to charge it. One of the great things about rooftop tents is that you can do things like this. Let’s go for a walk while we can!
