Tsumagoi Village in Gunma Prefecture is one of Japan’s leading cabbage-producing regions. Grown in the cool summer climate of highlands ranging from 800 to 1,400 meters in elevation, the “Kōgen Cabbage” (highland cabbage) is known for its tenderness and delicious flavor. Between late June and early November, approximately 160 million cabbages are shipped across the country.
In the middle of the vast cabbage fields lies “Aisai-no-Oka” (Beloved Wife’s Hill). Every September, it hosts a unique event called “Shout Your Love for Your Wife from the Center of the Cabbage Field.” Why not stand on the scenic wooden deck and shout a message of love to your wife, too?
