In the real place name “Totoro” in Ume, Saiki City, Oita Prefecture, there is a “Totoro bus stop” that is known as the “home of the cat bus.” It was a bus stop where actual route buses stopped, but now it is a bus stop for the community buses of Saiki City. The Oita Bus “Totoro” bus stop sign is still there, and thanks to the efforts of the local people, it still retains a quiet presence. From Oita city, turn right at the Totoro entrance intersection on National Route 326 and proceed further into Prefectural Route 6. As you proceed along Prefectural Route 6, you will see a sign on the left side of the road, so turn right there. We will introduce the Totoro bus stop and the wonderful restaurant and cafe “Ryuo” diagonally above the bus stop. Ryuo is a small game restaurant and cafe in the forest that serves game dishes using wild boars and deer that the owner, a hunter, has caught himself. If you don’t like game, there are other dishes such as pasta. The prices are reasonable, and the menu includes daily lunch, pasta, pizza sets, wild game dishes, and cafe menus . 大分県佐伯市宇目に実在する地名「ととろ」には、「ととろのバス停」があり”猫バスの里”として知られています。
実際に路線バスが停まるバス停でしたが、現在では、佐伯市のコミニティバスのバス停となっています。
大分バスの「ととろ」のバス停標識はいまも残されており、
地元の方々の努力で、今も静かなたたずまいを残しています。
トトロのバス停駐車場の反対側にレストラン「リュオ」さんがあります。
ハンターであるオーナーが自ら捕らえたイノシシやシカを使って、ジビエ料理を提供されています。
ジビエ料理のほかにも「今日のパスタ」「今日のリゾット」など、ランチメニューも豊富でリーズナブルです。
食後は、今日のおやつ（ドリンク付き）でまったりとくつろいでください。
