NARA -Takabatake- Discover the charm of quiet Nara in the Takabatake area of ​​Nara City 🦌This time, we will take a walk through a lovely town that still retains its charm, just past Kasuga Taisha Shrine. We took a leisurely tour of the charming shops. I hope you will join us in enjoying a stroll around Nara. First, we will have lunch at a cafe that was renovated from a townhouse. (Reservations are recommended) Once inside, you will find a wonderful space with antique furniture! This cafe is irresistible for antique lovers. Bagna cauda is great, it’s a stylish lunch♡ I take it out of the stylish cutlery case with delicious vegetables and eat it. The refreshing lemon sauce and the fragrantly grilled zucchini are delicious. Hayashi rice with the sweetness of vegetables. Tomato and sansho pepper are the secret ingredients. The sourness and umami are brought out. It was a cozy space that made me feel like roots were growing out of my butt. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Photography is not allowed inside the store, but they sell antiques and Indian ironworks. The owner is warm and knowledgeable, and I would definitely like to visit again. I stopped by an antique shop that utilizes an old tenement house. The store is filled with antiques that the owner has collected in the UK and France. The fabrics are lovely… these are also nice. I would like to give French postcards as a gift to a friend… It was a wonderful shop with a wide selection of items and a friendly owner. I went through the whispering alley to the garden cafe that I wanted to visit this time. I went through a small door and entered. It has a wonderful, secret atmosphere… It is a tea garden started by the Western-style painter Nakamura Kazuo, who opened the garden of his Western-style house home. The flowers on the tables are fresh, just like a Nordic cafe 😊 It is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It is fun to talk with the charming owner. The interior is also lovely. Tea time on the terrace in the garden Cheesecake is rich and delicious. The chirping of birds and the pleasant breeze are truly blissful moments… The owner guides us to the Western-style building gallery, and we immediately enter. The Western-style building, built in 1919, was originally the studio of Genichiro Adachi, a Western-style painter who contributed greatly to the development of modern art. It is also designated as a registered tangible cultural property. It is currently the studio and gallery of metalwork artist Yoichi Nakamura. It was a wonderful space enveloped in the scent of Taisho-era romance. Next, we went to the former home of Shiga Naoya next door. Shiga Naoya, a literary giant who moved 23 times in his life, was fascinated by the nature and cultural assets of the ancient capital, and designed the mansion himself, where he spent nine years from 1929 with his family. It has been completely restored. It became a place for cultural figures to interact, and was called the Takahata Salon. The glass skylight in the sunroom and the tiled tile floor are very impressive. Well, it’s hot…🌞Let ‘s take a break and have something cold… It will open in May 2023 near Takahata intersection. It is a shop where you can enjoy fresh fruits from Nara. Definitely the most popular, it was delicious, thank you for the meal. Next, we stopped by the bakery. It seems that it moved from Naramachi in 2024. First of all, a bagel! There is also an eat-in space. It has an American pop atmosphere…! It seems that you can also reserve bread. Please check the store for details. I’m looking forward to eating it at home ☺ Finally, we went to a sweets shop. It is said that the shop is modeled after a Parisian sweets shop. The exterior is cute too ♡ Deer muffins…🦌🦌 There are also Buddha and deer cookies, which make great souvenirs! This shop is filled with the owner’s desire to “deliver small daily happiness”.
