シアトル乗り継ぎ滞在でたまたま見たアメリカの闇。ここまで酷いとは思わなかった。

[Music] So I arrived at Detroit International Airport. I’m going to Seattle in the US now. I’m going to transit here. My final destination is Honolulu, Hawaii, but there are a few things going on, so I’m going to transit through Seattle this time. I don’t have much time to explain the color, but to give you a quick explanation, there is a direct flight from Detroit to this rule. Delta Airlines, I think. I was originally going to take that, but because I was hesitating to get the ticket, the price ended up being too high, so I’m going to fly economy and it’s a domestic game in the US. Up to this rule, it’s about 150,000 yen, and the next level up, premium economy, which is called comfort, is about 250,000 yen, and the so-called business class , which is the first class for domestic students, is over 300,000 yen , so today is Friday, the weekend. Hawaii is quite popular among Americans, so I thought I couldn’t afford to pay 150,000, 200,000, or 300,000 yen for a domestic match unless I had a transfer, but even the cheapest one was 150,000 yen . I was really worried. So, I took a direct flight from Detroit to this point on Delta , and it took about 10 hours. Yes. It’s quite far. Instead, I went via Seattle, and, well, not eco, but like premium class , you know, first class, for the domestic match. Even if I took that, it was about 180,000 yen, so in the end, 100,000 or 180,000 yen wouldn’t make any difference, and it was right before the flight. And there were no seats available in economy class. Anyway, I was going to board an Alaska Airlines flight to Seattle and then transfer again, but in the end, the economy class was full, and I couldn’t use my miles, so of course it was full , so I reluctantly took the whole process in first class for the domestic match . So I ended up paying about 170,000 to 200,000 yen. And if I could buy it, I would have to make a lot of transfers. If I went to Los Angeles and then took an LCC from there, it would still cost me about 100,000 yen. Planes in America are so expensive. I failed. I got it at the last minute. Well, I thought this would be a good learning experience, so I bought it with all my might, and in return, although I would have to transfer , I thought I could travel a little more comfortably. Yes. I came from Calgary to Detroit in regular economy on an LCC, WestJet , but that was also pretty tough at about 4 hours, so this time, although there were a lot of conditions, I got it. Sorry . This is the story of what happened. There are only 2 hours left until departure, so I would like to check in now. And, uh, I have quite a long layover in Seattle. I have about 7 hours, so I’ll decide when I get there, but I think I’ll go to Seattle . I came here about 3 or 4 years ago, I think it was about 3 years ago? I had some clam chowder, so I think it would be good to eat something similar. Anyway, I’m moving early in the morning, but that’s what I’m talking about this time. It’s really crowded even with knives. In other years, there are quite a few bottles, but for some reason, Honolulu is not so many. Also, there are so many people going that it seems like it’s always full, so I made a mistake. Really this time . Oh, this is the Alaska Airlines check-in counter. I got first class , so if I have JGC, I can use this, but if I think about it, it’s a domestic game in the US, so I don’t really need to check in. On my mobile. Yes, I checked in online , so I just got my ticket QR code, so let’s go. I won’t be checking my luggage this time, so yes, let’s go through security and go inside . I wonder if I can get into the lounge? I wonder? It’s really crowded. Oh well. Anyway, let’s go through security. I can feel the desperation in America. It’s basically self-service, right? There is a priority system, though. Wow, it’s really crowded. Security seems to be difficult. In the end, it seems there is no priority system, so we have to line up. It’s really crowded. So I went through security. It took a really long time. It took about 50 minutes. Anyway, I still have a little bit of time, so I’ll go to the lounge if I can. I don’t even know where the lounge is . I’m walking for now. Well, at worst, I don’t need it because I’ll be in the cabin soon, but I’m bored, so I’ll go anyway. Oh, and I want to eat McDonald’s. I want to eat McGriddles. I’ve been addicted to McGriddles lately. Oh, but it’s crowded. Is this the pattern where there is no lounge? Even though this airport is so big . There is only a Lufthansa lounge in this terminal. Well, I’ll walk around for a bit and then give up. It’s probably in a different terminal . I wonder. I haven’t checked at all. I’m just talking nonsense. I just asked the staff and they said it’s not there. I’m not even in the first class. Oh well. I’ll buy a McDonald’s then. I’m a bit hungry. I have an hour left. I bought a McDonald’s on a whim but it’s a bit full. There was a really big person there. There’s a chance I won’t get this until the flight arrives. By the way, a McGriddle set costs , uh, 10 dollars. It’s 1500 yen. Well, I don’t mean to be mean or anything , but in America, well, the way of working, I guess, is that the attitude is that you don’t do anything other than your job, that you don’t do anything other than what you’re asked to do. So there are so many people waiting and there’s only one person to distribute the finished products. And people who have free time for other things don’t really help out . That’s what America feels like, so I finally came here. McGriddle set. Let’s eat this and go to the gate. It’s a very tense place, like a war. Let’s eat. The drinks are as big as ever. It’s a bit strange. There’s no lounge and probably not many places to eat in this terminal. That’s why I think everyone comes to McDonald’s. [Music] There doesn’t seem to be any. Um, it’s closed. It’s still early, so let’s eat. American McGriddles are so delicious. I’m addicted to them. They’re so good. But this set costs 1500 yen. It’s crazy. You can see how cheap Japan is. There was a Lift Hansa lounge right by the gate, but it opens at 6am, so I ended up not making it. My flight is at 6:30. But I can use my Priority Pass. Depending on the time of day, if you have PP, you can use the lounge here. I guess MAC is good, but it’s so crowded and everyone is in a jostle, so I think there are probably a lot of people who don’t like it in the morning, so at times like that, I really feel the goodness of the lounge. Oh, you can use PP. I just bought some water at the airport kiosk, and it usually costs about 500 yen a bottle at the airport. It was really cheap, and I wondered why it was so cheap, and it was 50% off if you pay with ApplePay. That’s nice. I might have overlooked something like this. I was unconsciously paying with my credit card, but sometimes it ‘s cheaper if you pay with ApplePay. This is a little bit of trivia. For now, I’ll wait in front of the gate . It’ll start appearing in about 30 minutes. For now, if I arrive in Seattle without any delays or problems, I’ll go to the bottle check-in counter for Honolulu at the airport and check my luggage. It’s quite a long journey to Honolulu. It takes about 6 to 7 hours. Well, you leave your luggage there, and then you can take the light rail, which is like a tram, from the airport to downtown. Well, I’m going there, so it should take about 40 minutes, so I’ll take it directly to the last stop, and then, um, the market, um, the sea, I think it’s probably right in front of the Starbucks on Route 1, so I think I’ll go there. Well, I don’t know how long it will take, so even if I get to the airport, well, well, there may not be a spot available and I may have to wait, so I’ll keep an eye on the time. Well, I think it’ll be fine. There’s also a time difference, so from here, uh, 7:00 to 6:30 in the morning, I’ll take off around 7:00 and arrive there at 8:50. There’s a time difference of more than two hours in the morning. Two hours. Yeah. It’s a little complicated. Sorry. I think a lot of people probably don’t understand what I’m talking about now, but basically, I’ll arrive at Seattle at about 9:00 in the morning. The ride is about four hours, but because of the time difference. So, I’m going back in time, so I’ll be heading to the next Honolulu from 9:00, and then I’ll be heading back at 15:00, so I think I can go to town, have a meal , and come back. Yes. I don’t usually do this kind of thing anymore, but recently, when I get to the airport, I just work at a cafe, but since I’ve come all the way here, I’ll stop by. Yes. Well, it’s really far away to get to this rule. Yeah. Also, because I bought and looked for tickets just before the trip, they’re already really expensive, and to be honest, this is my trip. Yes. Well, I’m doing this just to satisfy myself, so please watch it if you like. Although it’s in the middle of the video, please forgive me for a little advertisement. This is the usual advertisement for NoVPN. Currently, NoVPN is running a campaign. If you use my channel’s coupon code from the dedicated link in the description of this video and sign up for a 2-year plan or more, you can get a big discount plus a 4-month extension. I hope you will take this opportunity to consider it . So, this video was taken while I was in Detroit, USA. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the US, and Detroit is a city of the automobile industry, so I think many Japanese people come here on business trips. Recently, the number of companies going on business trips has increased again, and until now, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies were able to do everything online and go on business trips overseas, and business trips within Japan, but gradually, they are returning. Also, the number of Japanese people traveling abroad is increasing. I’m sorry to say the same thing every time, but I especially recommend using a Node VPN for overseas travel , and I’m not just talking about overseas travel, but when you go on a trip or business trip, I think there are a lot of people who turn on Wi-Fi at airports, stations, hotels, shopping malls, cafes, etc. to browse the internet or do work. In such cases, especially overseas, security is very dangerous, or rather, lax , Wi-Fi is available, and when you connect to such Wi-Fi, criminal acts have occurred in which your important personal information is stolen and misused . If you encounter such trouble during a busy trip or business trip, it will be a waste of time and your mood will be lowered. By connecting to Wi-Fi using a VPN mode, you can significantly reduce the risk of being stolen by a third party. Many people use it as a security measure. I think that many business people, especially those who are instructed by their company not to connect to public Wi-Fi, and devices containing personal information . I’m sure there are still some places where this is not the case, but if important customer data or confidential information is leaked, it will basically be a bad thing. It will damage the company’s reputation, and if it goes wrong, there is a high possibility that the employee will be fired. For travelers, it’s especially useful for online money transfers, QR payments, and monetary transactions, as well as subscriptions, which I think you all have, for watching movies and playing games. By using a VPN, you can use Japanese services while overseas, or use overseas services while in Japan, making it a very user-friendly VPN. Node VPN boasts the fastest speed in the industry, and while using a VPN can slow down your internet speed, Node VPN is highly reliable and can be used smoothly for videos, games, and work without any impact . As for how to connect to a VPN, there is no need to make detailed settings or adjustments, and if you create an account, you can instantly access the internet with a one-click connect and use the VPN. It’s also very cost-effective. If you sign up for one contract, you can share it with up to 10 devices. If you have a family, you can use it for up to 10 people, or if you have friends, you can go on a trip together, or if you go out as a group, one person can cover 10 people , so you can split the cost, and I think it’s fine to use it in that way , so it’s very cost-effective. That’s why I ‘ve been pushing NordVPN for a long time. And I’ve been doing these kinds of advertisements , yes. If you’ve been watching a lot of videos , you’ve probably seen them, but I hope you’ll make use of it . Currently, NordVPN is running a campaign . Well, if you use the dedicated link in the description of this video to sign up for a 2-year plan or more, you will receive a big discount plus a 4-month extension. The campaign is still running, so if you’re interested, I hope you’ll consider signing up with this in mind. It was in the middle of the video, but that’s all for the advertisement. Back to the main story. This is the plane. I think it’s a 737. It will start appearing soon. The man in front has a guitar, which is interesting. Then, I was given priority entry and entered the plane. 737, huh, Dash 8max. This is my first time. I’ll be flying first class on Alaska Airlines’ domestic flights. I’ve flown from this airport to Alaska before, but at that time it was just regular economy, so it’s expensive. I feel like I had no choice but to do it, but I wouldn’t fly it if it was so expensive. Yes. Well, it’s a 4-hour flight . It looks like I’ll be able to go comfortably until I get the seat. I also got an email about the cabin color, which I usually pre-order, so I did it. The seats are spacious. But there are no monitors. The inside of the plane still smells like a new car, or rather, it smells shiny. This is probably a very new one. The seats are also very shiny. [Applause] I think Alaska Airlines had unlimited Starbucks coffee on board . Um, Delta Airlines does the same. Personally, I like Alaska Airlines quite a bit. Um, I often use miles, but I think Alaska Airlines’ service and the attitude of the staff are much better than United, American, etc. I think Delta and Alaska are the best. American hairline. Well, WestJet was good too, but well, that’s Canada. Yes, it’s good. I wish it was a little cheaper. I have the impression that Alaska Airlines used to be very cheap . All the seats in first class are already filled. Well, I heard that in America, the seats are usually filled up from the top, so, well, I think there is a big economic disparity here, but, well, I thought it was very expensive this time, but I think there are many people who don’t even choose Eco because they only ride this. The light time is 4 hours and 25 minutes. The door closed because it was so long. As expected, it’s a Delta base, so it’s full. Del’s plane will take off soon. [Music] Alaska Airlines pamphlet is promoting Japan. Yes. It says Izakaya One Yokocho. Drinks are free, but I wonder if they have alcohol? Wi-Fi is 8 dollars. It’s paid. This is also Tokyo City. So the waiting service started. I chose orange juice for my drink. It looks like this. Scrambled eggs and French toast with bread and fruit. Oh, it looks really delicious. It’s hot, properly. So, I ate everything, and it’s delicious. This banana-flavored French toast is insanely delicious. And the bread was nice and warm, and it had some nuts and raisins in it. This was also delicious. Yes. Well, it’s great that a proper board of this quality comes out on a domestic flight . You could choose properly. There were about six types from the breakfast menu, and there were various types such as vegetables as the main dish, pancakes, or just this scramble and bacon . So I just got my after-meal coffee, but it’s not that Starbucks coffee. It’s changed. Before, it was Starbucks, but this is this manufacturer’s coffee, I don’t know how to read it. It’s this coffee . [Music] So it’s almost the Empire. I arrived at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Thinking about it, about a year and a half or two years ago, I came here on a transfer when I went to Alaska to see the Northern Lights. Yes, yes, yes. This is about the third time I’ve been to Seattle Airport in my life. For now, things are going well, so let’s go outside for a bit, uh, towards the town, let’s go to Seattle’s downtown, um, where the market is. I’m a bit worried about the weather. I arrived because it looks like it’s going to rain. Thank you. [Music] It’s kind of nostalgic. Seattle. It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve been here. [Music] It’s taking a bit of time to get there. The terminal is far away. It’s crowded. I went outside for now. First, I’ll smoke a cigarette. It’s really cold outside. The temperature right now is about 12° or 13°. It was just displayed. It’s cold, cold. It’s really cold. For now, I’m taking a break. It looks like the terminal is pretty crowded. It’s Seattle Airport. You can only smoke here outside, so there are no smoking areas inside. For now, let’s go to Delta check-in and drop off our luggage before going downtown. We have about 6 hours left, so it should be fine. I didn’t think Seattle was this cold. It’s colder than Detroit. So, Hawaii is warm, so I’m going to be sick from where I’m going. When I arrived in Seattle, there were more Japanese people. I’ve already seen a few groups, and there are quite a few Japanese guides. It’s really crowded. The Delta counter is probably far away . [Music] It ‘s a little far away. Delta should be around here. SkyTeam. Anyway, I’ve arrived at the Delta check-in counter, so I’ll just drop off my luggage and then go into the city. There are so many people lined up at Sky Priority. There are a lot of people. It’s a domestic game, but it’s mixed in with the international games . So, I finished checking in with Delta, and it’s 10:05 now. So, I found my ticket and dropped off my luggage, and my departure is at 3:19 p.m. I have about 5 hours left, so let’s go downtown . This is the Link Light Rail below. This will take me to downtown. It takes about 40 minutes from Seattle-Tacoma Airport to the port where the market is in downtown, so if we assume it’s 2 hours round trip, I think I can see the city for about an hour and a half. Well, that’s enough . Let’s eat some clam chowder and go home. It’s nice to be able to go in one train. It’s easy. I think it will be smooth if you can check your luggage. Also, when you come back , there is a Sky Priority lane, so even if it’s so crowded, I think you can go smoothly. I don’t usually do this kind of transit, like going around the city in a circle when I have a few hours, but today I’m doing it as a joke. There is a risk, and if you go and come back normally , there’s no problem if you calculate the time, but if you do something irregular like losing your wallet, losing your smartphone, or losing your passport, you’ll be in a pinch. I’m scared that I’m saying this myself, and it might sound like a prophecy, but I’ll be careful. Well, let’s buy a ticket and get on. So I bought a tram ticket. It’s $6 round trip, $3 one way. Yes. Great. I bought a ticket and the train came right after I got up. Now I’m on the train. I actually wanted to go to the Boeing museum, but I thought it was a bit impossible. I guess I’ll just go to town and have a bite to eat . Well, I’ll probably come back, so I’ll go then. But today I’m just doing it on a whim, so this tram is really fast. It’s probably going at about 100km per hour. It’s super fast. This is great. There are quite a lot of trains, about 8 cars . Everyone can sit down, and now that I look at the number of trains, there’s about one every 9 or 10 minutes. It’s great that they come so often. It suddenly became a tram. It’s running on the road, but it’s still fast . It’s in a different league compared to Japanese trams. And I often see that when I go to Europe, but I think it’s faster than Europe. It seems like it would be bad if there was an accident. I’m always thinking about things like this while I’m riding. So, we arrived at Westlake Station, and we went above ground from here, and we ‘re running in an underground place now. So, let’s go. It’s a 6-minute walk from this station. It’s super easy to get to that commercial facility where the first station of Staban is . That’s if that’s your only purpose. It’s a bit strange to look around other places. It’s wonderful. There are escalators everywhere. Wow, it’s nostalgic. It has a familiar atmosphere. Seattle has a Uniqlo right in front of it. It’s nice. It’s beautiful and great. It’s a straight line from the tram station. I think it’s right because it’s a market just by walking . I think Seattle is probably not safe at night. I think I heard that there was a shooting nearby when I came here before. Well, if you just go to this commercial facility or the usual places on Saturday and come back, it’s probably fine. But I think it’s worse in Detroit, so I feel a bit relieved. If you go down this slope, you’ll already be at the market. I almost didn’t even look at Google Maps. I remembered it clearly . I have a good memory. Wow, it’s really crowded. Right. There’s a chance we’ll have to line up. I was thinking of just having a Cran Shouder or a lobster sandwich and going home, but it doesn’t have to be a popular place. Let’s eat at a nearby place . There’ll be a line at Starbucks anyway, so we ‘ll just look. I think it was like that last time too. Shall I take a look? Looking at it makes me want to eat. There ‘s some famous donut place, isn’t there? I didn’t go last time. Is this it? And these juices, like apple juice, look good. [Music] Three dollars a glass. Wow, it’s crowded. Well, it’s definitely tourist prices, so it’s expensive, but yeah, let’s eat. I’m actually getting hungry. I want to eat something. Hurry. There’s a bit too many people, it’s a bit tricky, but that’s the place where they throw fish and stuff, right? Here, It’s one of those things where you order while throwing something. Salmon, huh? I’ve seen this before, so I’ll just give you a quick glimpse. This is it. It’s a famous donut shop. There’s a line like this , so I guess it’s impossible, time-wise. It’s just starting to get crowded, but when I went in, it was completely empty, so I was able to buy it right away. Clam chowder. Ah, the medium size. And, ah, I also bought some boiled shrimp. So, the clam chowder was $99, and the shrimp was $15. I think this alone would be about 3,000 or 4,000, but I’m sure I’ve done the same thing before. Yes. I remember eating here at the same table. Let’s eat. Well, this is what I came for. Oh, it’s delicious. [Music] It’s cold, so it’s just right. It’s delicious. Yeah. It’s really delicious when you put these crackers in it. The shrimp is good, too. Ah, it’s delicious. It’s so delicious. I could eat this forever. [Music] Yeah. It’s around 11am now , but it’s pretty crowded. There were a lot of Japanese people and students there just now. Seattle is really popular. So I’m very satisfied. I achieved my goal. I’m already satisfied. Anyway, uh, let’s go back to the airport. I’m sure Starbucks Point 1 is up ahead. There it is. This is it. Starbucks Point 1. Wow, there’s a huge line. Most of them are Asian. Aren’t there only Japanese people around here? Just like last time, I just look at how many people are lined up. I don’t have time to line up and drink coffee. I ‘ll be there for about an hour. I think it’s good. So, I’ll take another 40 to 50 minutes back to the airport, and it’s about 2 hours before I leave. Let’s go. I thought it smelled like Thailand, as I expected. There are people like this. Um, they’re on drugs. People who are contaminated. Surprisingly, there are. Seattle. There are so many people around here who are doing drugs. This is a famous tourist spot. This is it. It’s bad. Well, from this station, Westlake station, I’m going back to Sea-Tac, Tacoma Airport. Sea-Tac is a cool name, isn’t it? Yes. I’m getting on. [Music] So, I managed to get back to the airport safely on time, and I was able to go to downtown Seattle for a moment and eat clam chowder, so I was very satisfied. The plane wasn’t delayed , so I was glad. Yes. Well, it was 4 hours and 25 minutes from Detroit, so it was a bit of a stretch, but this time I splurged a little, and that was the only option . I flew first class on a domestic flight, and the food was delicious, and I really love Alaska Airlines. The service was good and it was smooth. I feel like there were few problems. Yes. So, I’d like to end this video on Seattle transfers with this. The order of the videos may have changed, and the Hawaii video may already be up, but I hope you’ll watch without worrying about that. After this, I’ll transfer from here and then move to Delta Airlines again, following the rules. Thank you for watching. If you enjoyed the video, please leave a comment and give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel . That’s all. Thank you. [Music] [Music]
