Riding the world’s longest railway Covering 9,288 km (5,771 mi) In 164 hours Crossing 8 time zones With 139 stops Across 2 continents In a private second-class compartment With a shower on board And Russian food From Vladivostok, on the Pacific coast To Russia’s capital Moscow Enjoy the ride! Welcome to Vladivostok! The second-largest city in the Russian Far East, after Khabarovsk. It is located on the Sea of Japan and approximately 45 kilometers (28 mi) from the China–Russia border and 134 kilometers (83 mi) from the North Korea–Russia border. It’s also Russia’s main Pacific port city on the Asian side of the country. Let’s take a look at the Vladivostok train station. Right in front of the station is the Monument to V. I. Lenin. Local buses also stop in front of the station. The station was opened in November 1893. A little further on is the entrance to the airport express trains. And right behind it is a great view of the city with the Golden Bridge and Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral. Behind is Morskoy Vokzal which connects the city by water to nearby countries like Japan, South Korea, and China. Let’s now take a look at the station platform, there are a few interesting things. There is a nice Vladivostok sign at the back of the station. This station is owned by Russian Railways and operated by Far Eastern Railway. You will find several monuments dedicated to the Trans-Siberian Railway here. A plaque honors Ho Chi Minh, who passed through Vladivostok in 1924 on his way to Moscow, and returned for visits in 1927 and 1934. The railway station is under state protection, and the bell marks symbolizing the start or end of the journey across Russia. A steam locomotive Ea‑3306 installed on the platform as a tribute to the heroic efforts of railway workers from Primorye during World War II. Originally built in the USA in 1944 as part of the Lend-Lease program, locomotive Ea-3306 was assigned to the Pervaya Rechka depot and retired in 1995. And of course, this iconic granite post, topped with a double-headed eagle, marks the start (or end) of the Trans-Siberian Railway: 9,288 km (5,771 mi) to Moscow. Be sure to come to the station much earlier to see everything! The train from the coldest city in the world, Yakutsk, is coming! And we were there too, you can find the link to our video in the corner above or in the video description. We did some shopping before the trip, but as you’ll see later in the video, there are still several options for food all the way to Moscow. So we bought this for about € 35/ $ 40/ ₽ 3400 and bought more during the journey. Let’s start day 1! Your luggage will be X-rayed when you enter the station. The station’s ceiling features a stunning decorative painting, showcasing early 20th-century Russian artistry. The waiting room has several benches to sit on, which also have power sockets and cup holders. A plaque honoring Tsarevich Nicholas Alexandrovich, who laid the first stone of the Trans-Siberian Railway in 1891. This plaque honors the partnership between Vladivostok and Busan stations, established in 2015 during the Eurasia Friendship Express initiative. And this plaque commemorates the 2010 twinning of Vladivostok and Marseille railway stations, strengthening Russia–France ties. The station also has beautiful chandeliers and paintings. Next to the ticket office you will find pictures of the BAM Railway, which we also visited! You can find the video in the corner above or in the description below the video. There are other beautiful paintings and chandeliers in the luggage room. And even a small museum showcasing the rich history of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Featuring vintage photographs, railway memorabilia, and artifacts that tell the story of this iconic terminal’s role in connecting Russia’s vast expanse. And on this map you can see how far we are actually going! Today we will take the branded train №001Э “Rossiya” (“Россия”) departing at 22:25 on the Vladivostok-Moscow route. The train arrives at the platform 50 minutes before departure at 21:35. So let’s go! The train has approximately 15 carriages, there are only second-class sleeping compartments with 4 beds, third-class open sleeping plan (Platzkart) and second-class sleeping compartments for disabled passengers. And one restaurant car. There is also the possibility of transportation of animals without an accompanying person. Our train was pulled from the depot by this shunting locomotive TEM18DM-1261. Now let’s take a look at the locomotive that will pull us from Vladivostok. It’s great that our train is right next to the iconic granite post that marks the start (or end) of the Trans-Siberian Railway. And this is our Russian electric locomotive EP1-331 with a maximum speed of 140 km/h (87 mph). Of course, I was yelled at by railway employees for filming the locomotive… Train №001Э “Rossiya” (“Россия”) Vladivostok-Moscow. Our train is on platform 1. Let’s go on board! Passport check and then we can board. We will be traveling in a second-class sleeping compartment, which we purchased entirely for us (2 people) for better comfort and privacy. We paid €832 / $973 / ₽84,976 (Russian Rubles) for the entire compartment. And we bought the tickets at the station in cash 3 weeks before departure. So per person it’s approximately €208/ $243 / ₽ 18,980 (Russian Rubles). When you buy the entire compartment, you will get a discount of around 10-15%. And third-class (Platzkart) is even cheaper! That’s definitely a great price for a distance of 9288km (5771 mi) and such an exceptional trip! This is our home for the next week! Departure from Vladivostok on time at 22:25. (All times in the video are in local time) Let’s take a look at our long route map. We will cover an incredible 9288 km (5771 mi) in 6 days 19 hours 45 minutes, and are scheduled to arrive in Moscow next Tuesday morning at 11:10. Today is also Tuesday. Each carriage has its own train conductor (provodnik) who will introduce himself, give various information, and check your passport once again. In fact, we will be traveling during 8 days (not full days), because we started today’s day 1 on Tuesday at 22:25 and we will arrive in Moscow next Tuesday morning at 11:10. Bye-bye Vladivostok. Our first stop. Ugolnaya station in Primorsky Krai at 23:08. Stop for 5 minutes. Let’s go make the beds now. This needs to be disconnected and the bed will easily fold down. The top sheets are already on the bed. We have a fluffy pillow. And a blanket wrapped in bed linen. Everything is very clean. Well, this looks very cozy! Now let’s take a look at the toilets and shower. There are 2 toilets in this carriage. In the first we find power socket, soap, water, trash can and air freshener. There is also a baby changing table a two coat hooks. Also a big mirror. Everything is very clean and it was like that during the whole one week journey! Good job Russian Railways! Now a second toilet with a shower. Everything here is identical and again very clean. But we also find a shower here. There is also a shower curtain with extra coat hooks. Everything worked perfectly and the water was also pleasantly warm. But the toilet paper didn’t survive the humid air. There is also a cleaning schedule available, so you can prepare when to take a shower. Opposite the toilets there are three different trash cans. This screen also provides various information. For example, the timetable of our train. And another screen with additional information such as the outside temperature, current time or toilet occupancy. Christmas decorations on the windows. Which also have blinds. On the other side of the carriage we will find vending machines with drinks and snacks, coffee, chocolate etc. Prices here are around € 1-€ 2. So considering train prices, it’s not too expensive. There is also free cold and hot drinking water and other options for train food. You can also get something from here. Even ice cream. And at the end of the carriage is a room for the train conductor. Ussuriysk station at 00:41. Stop for 22 minutes. This station is lying just about 60 km (37 miles) away from China’s Heilongjiang province. Good morning from day 2. The sleep was very good! The bed is very comfortable and it was very quiet at night. The ticket price includes one meal. We got an egg tart with peppers, ham and cheese in the morning before 10:00. Including a box with a bottle of water, a hygiene kit, Apple and banana puree, a dried apricot bar, and one small mint candy. And a paper with information about what this box contains. Now let’s take a closer look at our compartment. The beds can be converted into seats. Next to the door are foldable stairs to the upper bed. A button to call the train conductor, several hangers and a coat hooks. Light controls and a place where you insert your card to lock your compartment from the inside and outside. So when you get off the train you can lock your compartment, that’s great! This is a 4-bed compartment, meaning you will find 4 cards here. The second blind can make it quite dark inside. Above the window there is a bed numbering, voice control for announcements, and a QR code for connecting to wifi and the entertainment system, but it didn’t work for us. And there’s also a business card for the train manager. The doors can also be locked from the inside. And there’s also a huge mirror across the entire door. Additional QR codes for food delivery, product catalog, passenger information, and contact information for the general manager. There is a large storage space above the door. The table can be folded a little. And there are 4 power sockets under the table. And another storage space is under the beds. The upper bed has a folding rail. And own storage space. Also 2 USB charging ports and a reading lamp. The lower beds also have their own storage space, even with a safe. And of course a reading lamp. We also have a travel kit containing slippers, toothpaste, toothbrush, shoehorn and wet napkin. A classic magazine. And another magazine with products that can be bought on the train, from food to the classic cup holders. This is a gold cup holder for around € 70/$ 81/ ₽6700. A sticker where you can give information about your arrival and the train conductor will come to wake you up. 3.

  8. 1:58:30 Construction of a metrotram station (underground tram) near the railway station in Krasnoyarsk. Opening is planned for 2027-2028.

  12. 3 hours, Jesus! That would take me a month to edit 😂 Id love to know the average watch time – purely out of YouTuber interest 😉 Will watch later but can't promise I'll make it to the end 😆

  13. I was also wondering about the statues on the "Ерофей Павлович" station. I googled it while watching your video, and it turns out these symbolize the bows of big boats called "ладья" (somewhat similar to drakkar boats). The town was named after Yerofey Khabarov, a russian explorer (Khabarovsk was named after him, too)

  16. wow wow what an epic trainvideo, thanx for shaering. Tha must have been a insane lot of editing, top video!!!!

  19. Aww, too bad you were passing by lake Baikal at dark. It could have been quite a view, although I'm not sure it was covered with ice at that time.

  21. This is the type of media we should watch & learn from…that we All tribes & Nations male & female to Know Each Other's.
