【西表島観光】これが世界遺産の島!西表島旅行で秘境ツアーに参加したら過酷すぎた!沖縄旅行vlog

An uncharted territory so mysterious it’s hard to believe it’s in Japan! An area that even those with a kayaking license cannot access. If you underestimate this you will regret it. A rough and challenging journey that takes just 30 minutes by kayak and 60 minutes by trekking one way . However, once you overcome the challenges, excitement, spectacular views and homemade food await you. Sorry for the late introduction. My name is Bien. I am a man with rhinitis who loves to travel. This time I will be touring Iriomote Island, which is extremely popular in Okinawa for its unique uncharted territory and untouched nature. I have finally set foot there for the first time in my life! Most of Iriomote Island is subtropical jungle and is famous for the Iriomote wildcat, a natural monument. It is also called the Galapagos of the Orient and its area is larger than Ishigaki Island. By the way, Ishigaki Island has a population of about 50,000 people, while Iriomote Island has about 2,500 people. The island is mainly divided into two parts, the eastern and western parts. In the eastern part, you can cross the Nakama River and the water buffalo carts , and in the western part of Yubu Island , there is the Pinaisara Falls. This time, I enjoyed a day trip to Iriomote Island. Please watch until the end. Good morning , I am currently in Ishigaki Island. Today, I finally went to Iriomote Island for the first time in my life. I was really worried about the schedule , but this time Iriomote Island will be a day trip. Iriomote Island is very large and there are only a limited number of places that can be seen in one day, so I will join a tour that focuses on one place, canoeing (kayak?), trekking, and going to see the waterfall , and enjoy the great nature of Iriomote Island. I’m looking forward to Iriomote Island. I wonder what it’s like. I think it’s probably on a different level to the hidden spots I’ve seen so far . This time, it’s hot, so I’m afraid of heat stroke. On the ferry to Iriomote Island . I came here to buy some breakfast. It ‘s open from 7am and I’ve arrived at Chinen Shokai , a famous shop for Ishigaki Island’s specialty Onisasa. They also have a lot of other things. Onigiri is only 100 yen. It’s so cheap . I got breakfast at Chinen Shokai ! I bought sandwiches, onigiri, onisasa, and lots of other things! Here we go! Are you free? There are no vacancies lol. The first parking lot is full. The first parking lot is almost never empty, so let’s go to the second parking lot. Even with the second parking lot , it’s safer to arrive about 30 minutes before the boat departs . If you’re driving , you’ll arrive at 8 and depart at 8:30, so we’ll board the boat to Uehara Port on Iriomote Island. You can pay for the boat ticket online in advance, so this time I pre-ordered both the outbound and return tickets (convenient). Swimsuits and the like are sold at the ferry terminal, so this time I’ll take the Anei Kanko ferry. It takes about 50 minutes from Ishigaki Port to Uehara Port on Iriomote Island. Today is going to be a long battle, so I’ll take a commemorative photo with Gushiken to get myself pumped up. The boarding announcement begins about 15 minutes before departure . Seats are unreserved, so if you don’t line up early, the window seats and good seats will fill up in no time. There is about an hour between the boarding announcement and arrival. So it’s time to depart . The staff waved goodbye. The weather was fine and it looked like we would arrive smoothly (apparently there are many cancellations depending on the season). There was no problem with seasickness. We arrived at Uehara Port. The guide was standing there holding a large board, so we were able to meet up smoothly. After moving by car, we were given kayak oars (blades?) and waterproof bags/life jackets. From here, it was a 5-10 minute walk to the canoe launch point . Everyone was experienced in canoeing, so it went smoothly . Remember that when you paddle one side, you paddle in the opposite direction to the direction you want to turn. The most important thing is that as long as you know how to move forward and how to turn, there’s no problem. It’s amazing, they’ve come this far. This is a high level of adventure, or rather, it’s an adventure in itself. There are stairs like this. Amazing! Thinking about it now, I still had a good look on my face at that time, and I thought I would have no problem. Oh, hanging flower? Hanging flower It is said to be found in the brackish waters of the Nansei Islands. It’s quite a walk from the car to the canoe launch point. We walked, but the roads around here were well maintained so it wasn’t too steep (for now). We arrived at the starting point for the canoe. Actually, it’s not a canoe but a kayak (it doesn’t matter…lol). A kayak has a paddle on both sides, and a canoe has one paddle only. There are a lot of fish, so we set off. It’s a 30-minute walk, and there’s almost no shade . By the way, I brought a 2L frozen water bottle, and it was a good idea to have at least 2L (you can also use it to cool it down). It’s difficult to move forward. It’s not that hard, but the starting point was quite narrow, so it was a fine adjustment. It was very difficult to adjust left and right . Apparently , plants with thorns may be poisonous. Oh, after going a little further, the width widened and the view opened up. It’s a mysterious sight that makes you think you’re in Japan. However, it’s really difficult to handle until you get used to it. If you panic, you won’t know which side to paddle, and you ‘ll likely end up paddling the other way and bump into each other like this. It was especially difficult to use the paddle when slowing down or changing direction. It’s very shallow (running aground). It’s hot. I periodically splash water on it to cool it down. I’m glad I came in my swimsuit. It ‘s opened up a lot. This view is definitely something you should experience at least once in your life. It’s so much fun. By the way, the final destination this time is Pinaisara Falls. The drop of the waterfall is about 55m. The highest drop in Okinawa Prefecture. If you’re thinking about trekking , is it better to go in the cold season? On the other hand, if it’s cold, you won’t be able to go into the waterfall. If you want to go in a cooler season, April to May is the best time. But the rainy season starts in May, so it’s difficult (summer seems best). It ended in 3 to 4 days after the rainy season started. That kind of thing happens. Amazing. A rainy season in 3 days?! This is the first time it’s been this sunny. The last time was in April, and although the temperature is good in April, it rains a lot. The time before that was in October, and it rained a lot in October too. This time was the first time, and it was sunny all the time, so I didn’t think it would be this hot . But if I cool my feet regularly like this, it will make a difference. Personally, I highly recommend this tour with two people. If you take turns taking breaks while paddling, you can conserve your energy (I’m slacking off, using the excuse of taking photos lol). The waterfall can be seen in the distance. There is a limit to the number of people at Pinaisara Falls, but there were more people there than I expected (apparently 200 people a day). And this is where the real tour begins. Finally we arrived. It seems like it ‘s a 40-50 minute climb from here lol . We discovered something powerful at the starting point. It’s not a beehive, it’s a termite nest. Here We left our life jackets behind and walked to the top of the waterfall. We carried two liters of water, so I wondered if this would be good or bad. For the first minute or two, the path was flat like this so I thought it would be easy, but from here on it was all uphill and it was pretty tough. Now I’ll tell you some things to be careful of when hiking in the mountains . Never grab onto tree trunks as there may be caterpillars on the underside. If you go into the bushes, there may be poisonous snakes or cobras so be careful of your step. It’s really hard. Oh, it’s true that when you climb, you want to grab onto tree trunks. Can you do it? In the end , you have no choice but to use your hands. Haha. Ah , it’s really hard. We’re going to be climbing all the way up . It’s not like there are any stairs . The path isn’t very wide, if you look away you’ll fall. It’s so narrow . Apart from the tour guide, the other participants were on Iriomote Island for the first time but they were moving along briskly. Maybe I’m just not very fit, but they didn’t take many breaks . It was impressive! It looked super slippery! We discovered a Yaeyama Subehatoumushi, which is super scary when you get home! All you have to do to get to the waterfall is climb a steep path, but along the way the guide will show you any creatures he finds and explain things to you, so we enjoyed the journey to get there. There was one place where you had to climb using a rope. It took about half the 45 minutes to climb. I was taking pictures as I walked, but everyone was so fast! We didn’t slow down at all. Finally the path flattened out. It had been uphill all this time, so it was a great relief to just see it flat. However, it seems we still have a long way to go before we reach our destination. There must be a lot of people coming and going on tours. This area isn’t well maintained, but it naturally becomes an animal trail. At first glance, you can tell from above that you have to walk here. We didn’t encounter any falling snakes or any other dangerous creatures unique to the jungle, but we discovered a Sakishima Tree Lizard, which seems to be a lizard with an uncut tail. As we went further, we thought maybe we were getting close to a waterfall, and we could see a river, and apparently there were tarantulas in it too. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to see any tarantulas, but the road was flat and for me the first 20 minutes or so of uphill climbing was the hardest. However, since the first road was so tough, it felt easy. On the other hand, getting used to it is scary, but I feel like I’m going to slip and fall. The first half was tough, but as we got to the second half, my adrenaline started to kick in and I had the time to enjoy the scenery! I hear some kind of sound. Oh, finally … we’re going down from here lol. How many more minutes is it? (Strong laugh) 3 minutes 3 minutes left…tears Surprisingly, the descent is scarier Seriously, why is everyone moving forward so quickly? It’s dangerous if you don’t use your hands And from here it feels like going down a cliff It feels like going down a ladder and from below it looks like this It’s pretty steep Wow Amazing This This is amazing Ah We’ve arrived, have we arrived? (For some reason I’m skeptical lol) Ah, amazing So, we’re on top of the waterfall We’ve arrived at the top of Pinaisara Falls So, if you go too far to the edge you’ll fall and it’s game over Ah, it’s cold Damn, my strength will recover Just cooling your feet makes a big difference But over there is already this How many meters is it? 55m! Ah, if you fall it’s over It’s the number one in Okinawa Prefecture! Drop The number one drop in Okinawa Prefecture (I didn’t know this at the time) Wow , this is amazing After a long and rough journey, we finally arrived at Pinaisara Falls (above) Amazing Ah , it’s so nice Wow Amazing So, this makes me wonder if this is on a trip or something, but it’s such a spectacular view! That’s the place where we just passed by on the kayak. It’s a wonderful view. It was a tough journey to get here, so the sense of accomplishment is incredible. Along with the magnificent view of Iriomote Island, you can see it below. We’ll also be heading to the waterfall basin after this. This tour is a course where you take a commemorative photo on top of the waterfall , have lunch , then go down the mountain to the basin below, so you can enjoy Pinaisara Falls in luxury. Wow, I didn’t think there would be so many people, but it’s pretty heavy. And finally it’s lunchtime and I’m super hungry. I knew lunch was included when I booked the tour, but I never thought I’d be able to eat homemade Yaeyama soba here. A luxurious lunch. Wow , this is Yaeyama soba. It smells so good. We’ll share this between two people. Apparently one bag of noodles is 450g, even if we share it, it ‘s just over 200g. We ate it on the ferry on the way there. Umm, Onisasa , we also ate sandwiches. But I’m hungry. Secret sauce? Commercial sauce (whispering) The rice is ready. Looks delicious. I’ll give it to you. I got homemade Yaeyama soba. Looks super delicious . The meat is thick and seems to be homemade by the wife ! Enjoy authentic cuisine! The best It’s not because we eat it after we reach the top, but it’s just delicious. It was also because of this location, it was a great experience . It was really cold, but it was amazing, thank you! Pinaisara Next, we go down the mountain again and go to the waterfall basin below, which seems to take about an hour (tears) I failed to wait for a spider that looks like a tarantula’s nest (the path is narrow, so other tour guests can’t get through) I found a rare tree! It’s a tree, what a tree, it seems to be a root, yeah , it’s like a board , why are there roots sticking out like this at the top? There are various reasons for this, one of which is to support the body, I couldn’t believe that all these board-like things are tree roots . Since we’re here, we’ll take a commemorative photo. If you look at this from a distance, it really looks like an artificial object, it’s dangerous, so I want you to check it out in the mountains, if you have this, please don’t touch it, but if you snap it, it’s… super poisonous , is it highly poisonous? This, this, too, actually, I didn’t notice it just now, I wonder if I saw it at the very beginning, I don’t notice it at all unless I pay attention, a huge clam , is it delicious? It’s not tasty lol It stinks because it’s constantly eating mud I found a buttress root that looks like a boat This is the root Surprisingly , there aren’t many dangerous creatures When I looked it up, I found a lot of things, but when I actually came here, I didn’t see that much This place has a similar atmosphere to Oirase Gorge in Aomori (although it’s too steep lol) The plants are completely different in the north and south Personally, I liked the atmosphere of the route to the basin better than the route to the top of the waterfall It was somewhat similar to Oirase Gorge And above all, I was really happy that I didn’t have to climb a cliff Wow, it’s like Princess Mononoke Wow! What is this This seems to be a root too Ah , there’s a waterfall on top of the roots It looks like an octopus’s sucker Akagi The name is the same Why is it called Red Tree? Because red liquid flows It was apparently used for dyeing This is all one tree The roots are connected Wow, amazing The view over here is better It was a little dangerous last time, so is there an Iriomote wildcat? I’ve seen it . I’ve lived here for 8 years and have seen the Iriomote cat 27 times. I saw it about twice in the first year, so if you think about it, it’s hard to see it while traveling. I spent a few days in the mountains the other day and my rental car was parked in the parking lot the whole time, so I thought it must have been lost. I was camping. I couldn’t take a picture of the wildcat, so that’s the level it is (it would be a miracle if you could see it). Before I knew it, I was climbing up a lot. Is this because the people who have climbed before have put their feet in the same place, so the footprints are worn down? Yes , well, I’m grateful for that. However , there are people who say this is an environmental problem, so they started limiting the number of people, and there are places like this, so the destruction progresses quickly. Did more people come and go in the past? Now we’ve reduced the number to 100 and 200, but does it still fill up quickly? I thought it would probably fill up quite a bit in the summer, and since this is heading towards a pretty dangerous waterfall basin, I had the image of going down, but I decided to start climbing. Wow, this is going to make you lose weight. Do you climb about 5-6 times a week? When it gets bad, it’s not every week anymore, it’s every day. There are other tours, but apparently Pinaisara Falls is open all week long. Is the view impressive? Absolutely . The creatures you can meet are different every time, so today I have an ultraviolet light that I don’t carry around with me much. I’m looking for creatures that glow with it, but there are some leaves that react to the light quite easily . It’s not the color of the light. This is a millipede shell . I found a glowing millipede. It’s really glowing . When I take off the light, it’s completely different . We’ve finally arrived! Wow , the rock is huge. Oh wow. Is there not much water today? There isn’t much water, but it’s just right. You can go all the way over there, like a mist. Finally we’ve arrived . After a long journey, we’ve arrived at the basin of the waterfall. It’s really hot. I ‘m wearing a swimsuit, so I’m going to go into the basin of the waterfall. The water is 2m deep. It’s amazing ! I just went to the top and went 55m up, taking about an hour. Today is a clear day, the sun is shining brightly, and it’s pretty hot, so everyone is cooling off in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. Life jackets are essential, though. The water is 2m deep, so you can’t touch the bottom with your feet. It’s colder than I thought. My partner also seems to be trying to dive in. Normally, I would jump in and my partner would take the filming, but this time we decided to do the opposite. It’s not that I’m scared or anything, but my partner is trying . Oh! Is it 2m? It’s amazing to see it upside down . Pinaisara Falls has the highest drop in Okinawa Prefecture. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is 2m. I went into the pool because I had the chance, but it was really difficult (I learned from the bad example). When you go to the waterside, make sure to close your eyes tightly. Since I’m here, I’m going to take a commemorative photo from right under the waterfall. It’s really difficult to swim with one hand while taking a picture. I’m almost drowning. This is amazing . The wind is so strong. Wow, it ‘s amazing. Subscribe to the channel along with the beautiful Pinaisara waterfall. Please rate it highly. The way back is also amazing . This is better . Backstroke is easier. Ah, I’m so tired. I want to come here regularly (I’ll come again next year). I never thought I’d be able to drink drip coffee here. You can choose between tea, coffee, and rooibos tea. Wow, this is really irresistible. This is a great experience. It’s amazing to be able to drink coffee while watching the waterfall. What is this? Island lemon and cream cheese bread looks delicious! This tour also has homemade lunch and homemade snacks. It’s the best . Amazing! The flavor is amazing By the way, as for the toilets, they lend you portable toilets so there’s no problem with urinating I put the portable toilet in my own waterproof bag and carried it to the point where the first car was parked (there is a trash can there) Wow, the waterfall was great Then, from here it ‘s about an hour, then 30 minutes by kayak, it’s like an amazing slide Everyone is full of energy on the way back However, there were also families with children on the tour so it’s just really tiring We finally made it back here and now it’s kayaking from here Wow, the sun is so hot Tomorrow is canoeing in Ishigaki Island lol Tomorrow is an evening tour starting in the evening, it’s like a night mangrove and sunset, so I don’t think it will be this hot, but the sun sets late, isn’t it It’s light until around 8pm Wow, it was a really long journey However, you can get heatstroke I was able to come back safely without any incident . It was fun, but it went by so quickly. I spent the whole day just doing this, but I’m looking forward to dinner, which I’ve reserved at a yakiniku restaurant. After the tour, we were taken to Uehara Port . By the way, there are no changing rooms or shower rooms, so you need to bring a large towel and rinse it with water and wipe it. Since we had some time before the return boat, we enjoyed some juice at this cafe. The banana juice was really delicious, so I recommend it. And there is a pineapple leaning against this glass. You can eat it, but actually I wanted to eat mango, but it seems that it’s not in season yet , and it’s only available from around the first week of July. It was delicious . They showed me a photo, and I heard that the starry sky on Iriomote Island is really beautiful. It’s a shame that it was just a fun day. Next time I want to come for 2 nights and 3 days. On the way back, I will use the Yaeyama Tourist Ferry. I was able to make a reservation in advance because the ticket for both the outbound and return trip was online. The sea is at eye level and it’s amazing. Wow, it’s really the best view when the weather is good. I suddenly felt tired after a while. I arrived at the Ishigaki Port Remote Island Terminal. It was already evening. I think it was after 5:30 pm to around 6:00 pm, but it was still light out. I’m back in hot Ishigaki Island. It looks really hot. In the carFirst , I’ll take a shower at the hotel and eat dinner. This is the yakiniku restaurant I have a reservation for tonight. However , the nearby parking lot is unexpectedly full and there is no place to park, so I’m asking them to go and ask.Amazing Orion beerAh , but for some reason it feels hotter here. It’s cooler in the shade after all. We’ve arrived.Tonight ‘s dinner is yakiniku.First , I’ll have this.It ‘s a spicy mozuku dish. It’s mozuku, but it’s like cold dandan noodles and it’s delicious. It was refreshing and delicious, so I recommend it.Next , I’ll have chicken thighs. It has a vivid color.I’m hungry. It feels good.Look while the chicken thighs are being grilled. This color looks incredibly delicious. And it looks like the chicken thighs are done, so I’ll eat them right away. The chicken thighs were delicious.Maybe I overcooked them a little. The loin is delicious. It melts in your mouth! What a color. It has a really nice color.I didn’t know loin could melt like this. What is this ?The skirt steak is ready.Let ‘s have the skirt steak! When I actually tried it, I was quite shocked. I personally like chicken more than any loin I’ve ever eaten in my life, so no matter which yakiniku restaurant I go to and eat good meat, I always end up eating kalbi with wasabi. Wasabi kalbi is delicious when eaten with wasabi and sauce. The second round of skirt steak is really good. The loin was so good that I ordered it, so I can eat this on top of it. The Genki Shake is amazing . This is my third shake today. I was wearing a Genki T-shirt and taking a commemorative photo in front of the Genki shop while drinking a Genki Shake , and a foreign tourist laughed at me. Anyway, if you come to Ishigaki Island, you should drink it every six hours (no way). I drank two shakes yesterday and only one today, but I’m actually paying a lot for Genki. By the way, last year I had this I went to Ajima Shoten, which I recommend because they have Okinawan specialties. They also have some live Okinawan tunes. They do them from 9pm, which is nice. They’re either 7pm or 9pm, or the first part is 7pm and the second part is 9pm. I’m full so I’m having a hard time deciding . I searched for local food on this street and found a restaurant called something called island cuisine, which also had really good reviews and looked delicious. And I thought that only the Genki Cool Genki Shake was really delicious, but the Genki Cool was just as good as normal. It was delicious, so I was a little underestimating it . Apparently there is a Shimauta live performance on the second floor of the restaurant opposite . The first time I went to Okinawa in June , I went to Naha or Okinawa’s main island . There were a ton of cockroaches then, but I haven’t seen any since. I thought there would be a ton of them on Ishigaki Island after the rainy season ended in June, but surprisingly there aren’t many. This area is pretty good. There are a ton of restaurants near the remote island terminal, including bars and drinking establishments, and there are Shimauta live performance restaurants. I went here last year. This place is at the top, and here you can also enjoy a semi-private seating area and relax. You can enjoy seafood dishes, jimami tofu fried dashi, and many other dishes. There is a cute dog in front of the entrance , a real guard dog . Wait, where is the parking lot? That one is right. This street, Ollie, Ollie, Ollie, Ollie, Ollie , Ollie (how many times am I going to say that?) I was walking around taking pictures and got lost. Oh no, it’s this way. There are private rooms here too. Izakaya has private rooms. I think there should be places to eat while walking until 5am . I think it would be popular if there were places to eat while walking (although there is also the theory that people just don’t know about it lol). Fruits from Ishigaki Island, Okinawan cuisine, hamburgers, and so on. I think it would be like this. If they made a series of spots where you could eat something in a short time, for between 500 and 1000 yen, that even one person could eat quickly, it would be popular . If you went inside a restaurant and sat down to eat, it would take 1-2 hours, so I think there are a lot of people who want to eat something that can be eaten quickly in 5-10 minutes. Most of the time, tours and the like have to meet up at this remote island terminal, so there must be a lot of people who have 15-20 minutes until the meeting time and want to eat something quickly . Takoyaki and taiyaki would also sell well. It may have nothing to do with Ishigaki Island, but I think even taiyaki would probably be in demand. Things that can be eaten quickly include crepes, etc. What is this? What is your name ? And I just discovered a takoyaki shop that opens at 9pm, so I bought some right away. I got back to the hotel and had some yakiniku and takeout local sushi from a sushi restaurant called Umi no Hana which looked really deliciousIt ‘s a little high-end but 2500 yen (10 pieces so maybe normal) Chef’s choice sushi for 2500 yenSushi and takoyakiIt was piping hot and looked deliciousI hadn’t eaten sushi on my recent trip so I’d like to eat it every dayFor sushi and takoyaki , we played rock-paper-scissors and took turns eating one piece eachSince we each got one piece, I couldn’t eat halfI won the first time so I definitely wanted to eat thisOf course it wasI will start with the negitoroIt’s deliciousWhat are you going to takeOh , I seeThat’s what it feels likeI think it’s flounderThe filming took a really long time and it was a bit tricky so I wasn’t sure if I could eat that much but sushi is doableIt ‘s the first time in my life to eat takoyakiIt’s hot! Delicious takoyaki is so good and it’s only 500 yen! I didn’t have the option to eat takoyaki at Ishiyaki Island, which is cheap, but they open at 9pm. On the contrary, they open at night, so it’s a good time to get hungry. Recently , I’ve been going around to different stores to make videos and to provide information that seems to be in demand, so I’ve been going around to different stores like this, and I’ve been eating a little something like sushi and takoyaki , or sata andagi or genki shake, and I feel like I’m two or three times more satisfied. I think it makes for good memories if you eat gourmet food at three or four places in one day, and the day feels longer. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s like a midnight snack. By the way , we’re having a kayak tour tomorrow as well lol (my muscles are sore). Tomorrow we’ll meet after 5:30pm and you can watch the sunset from a kayak on the ocean. You’ll watch the sun go down while on the kayak, and when it goes down, you’ll go to the mangroves while still in the kayak . It’s a tour like a night tour. First thing in the morning we’ll go to see the scenery at the northernmost tip of Ishigaki Island , and the weather forecast is sunny so I’m sure it will be beautiful. We’ll go around the tourist spots and have a meal , and then we’ll come back here before evening, change clothes and go on the tour, so don’t forget to subscribe to our channel!
