Mount Koya is my top one place in Japan. This sacred mountain is the holy place of the Shingon Buddhist sect, found by Kūkai, also called Kōbō Daishi. His mausoleum is also located on this mountain, among other ancient temples and the mysterious Okunoin 奥之院 graveyard.
