【秘湯】 記憶の奥へ誘う湯煙… 肘折温泉で出会う、あの頃の日本

Hijiori Onsen reminds me of the days when I was crazy about pop songs on TV and ran around the schoolyard. Hello, this is “Channel 8329”. Hijiori Onsen was discovered about 1,200 years ago, in the second year of the Daido era (807), during the reign of Emperor Heijo , and first opened as a hot spring resort on the second day of the New Year in the second year of the Meitoku era (1391) . It is said that when an old monk was suffering from a broken elbow, he bathed in the hot springs and his wounds healed instantly, which is where the name “Hijiori Onsen” came from… Anyway, nowadays, this famous hot spring resort is popular for its retro atmosphere. In 2012, a large landslide occurred, causing the road to Hijiori Onsen to collapse, damaging the road and cutting off the artery that transports visitors. At that time, the “Hijiori Hope Bridge” attracted attention even during its construction as the savior of Hijiori Onsen town. It is shaped like a looped two-story building, and descends from National Route 458 to the hot spring town in an S-shaped curve, with a length of about 240m. This is the longest steel rigid frame bridge in Japan. The road that goes down while twisting and turning makes me feel like I’m on the rails of a Tomica car. They said we were going to cross the bridge . Ah, this is it! Crossing the bridge… go right… cross the other bridge… scary, this road too…I don’t like it. We ‘re heading to the designated parking lot. This time I came with my wife’s cast. I ‘m glad it wasn’t my caravan wide . This time we’re visiting “Kameya”. You can enjoy two types of hot springs, “Kizuyu” and “Atama-yu”. It ‘s huge. “Kameya” I didn’t think it was so big. Since we have time before check-in, we’ll go sightseeing in the area . A stone monument erected by residents who suffered three major fires. At that time, it became a major event that involved the surrounding villages. This is the place where an old monk who is said to have broken his elbow and healed himself in the hot springs is said to have lived. It is said that if you can pass a straw thread through a small hole in the rock face, your wish will come true, and many people visit as a god of matchmaking and business prosperity . It’s a 40-minute course from Yakushi Shrine, and the climb is quite steep. You can also drive to the road above. I decided to go by car after all. It is said that Gen’o, a monk from Bungo Province, encountered an old monk who was the incarnation of Jizo and lived in Jizogura, and learned about the effectiveness of the hot spring . The old monk entrusted Harajiji to spread the word about the effectiveness of this hot spring. The effect is that “Even if you fall off a rocky mountain and break your elbow, if you soak in the hot spring here, it will heal immediately.” This is the origin of the name Hijiori Onsen . Maybe a bear knocked it down? I met someone who recently encountered a bear. Your bear protection is perfect! You’re going to climb now, right? Wait a minute, the air horn is making a terrible noise! The bear will probably run away, thank you! ! It was fully protected… There is already a cliff on the right side, but there are trees growing, so it seems like we can still go. Ah, the cliff road is no good. I’m sorry, but I couldn’t go any further than this… If you go further, you will see a Jizo statue waiting at the other end of the road like this. He is singing a song to ward off bears . Isn’t it “Gegegegegegegege , gwaa gwaa gwaa”? It’s like vomiting, isn’t it? Frogs croak with a ‘gwaa’ sound, and vomiting is ‘gege’ . The road is rougher than I thought, so I’d better prepare properly for the climb. It’s still before noon, so I’ll go back and take a look around the hot spring area. I heard that the horse sashimi is delicious. There are many other inns crowded into a small area. There are many rustic hot spring towns all over the place, but the great thing about this place is that almost all the inns are open. Some of the hot spring towns I’ve been to have ruins or are not very popular, but this place is a proper hot spring town. It’s the fruit of everyone’s efforts. I’m getting a little hungry, so let’s have a late lunch here. This restaurant is apparently a diner during the day and a yakitori restaurant at night. It has a cozy bar atmosphere even during the day, and that road that comes down is amazing, isn’t it? The loop bridge was built by everyone. Thank you very much. It costs about 1.7 billion yen… (it costs) The owner is very service-minded and will respond to anything you say. That’s… a menu? Do you think it’s a menu? No… it ‘s not even karaoke, it’s a doodle book written by customers. One thing to note… he won’t take your order unless you ask for it. He will keep talking forever lol. Anyway, the owner was cheerful and full of service-mindedness, and the cold tsukemen was a very large portion! Bonus items keep coming out, my stomach is about to burst… thank you, he even saw me off outside, what a friendly person lol thank you , the retro and calming atmosphere of the entrance, there are turtles here and there, I came in a little early, hello , I’m XX who will be taking care of me today, the landlady was kind and told me a lot of information about the hot spring town, please let me know if you need anything, what time is the bath open until? (time limit) There is no WW, is it okay to take pictures during the bath? It’s okay. On the other hand, it’s a bit rundown here and there… it might not be the kind of place to take pictures , thank you, thank you , it seems that the room was locked because it’s a married couple, but the main building seems to be unlocked, it’s a nice room even without a lock, this one was fine too… there are a lot of turtles, is n’t it? There is no detailed information about the year of establishment, but it seems to have been in business for quite a long time, head to the nearby public bath “Kaminoyu”, the public bath is just a few minutes walk from “Kameya”, it’s just a stone’s throw away. Directly opposite “Kameya” is Maruya, a member of the Japan Society for Preserving Secret Hot Springs. It’s a cool, retro-modern inn. The public bath costs 500 yen, and you get a ticket at the inn, and you pay only 100 yen to bathe. The changing room was spacious and I was able to relax. Please note that there are no hairdryers, etc. It is said that this is a hot spring that will please spring quality enthusiasts, and is called “sodium chloride bicarbonate spring.” It is an olive-colored hot spring with no iron. I don’t know the details, but it felt really good! Sorry, there is another one over there that says “public bath.” Can I enter? Yes, you can enter by paying the fee here. What time is it open until ? Same as here, until 5 o’clock . Well, I’ll come again. It’s 4:40 now, so I’m a little late . It’s nice to be able to have dinner in the room. The landlady will bring it to your room. When you’re done, please leave it out in the hallway. There are delicious looking side dishes lined up that look homemade. This is…more like alcohol than food ! I bought some doburoku while out walking. If you don’t shake it after opening it, it will explode. Mountain vegetables and doburoku are the best combination. Mmm, doburoku! They are carefully made and each one is beautiful. I don’t know what each one is lol. The mountain vegetables are so pretty. Pickled eggplant of some kind… My favorite yellowtail . Mmmmm (delicious) Mmmmm (delicious!). I head to the baths through a long, tasteful corridor . There are only indoor baths for men and women. There are simple structures with tubs that can fit about four people each. You can enjoy the communal bath, the “Kizuyu” that is only used at Kameya Ryokan, and the “Atama-yu” that is said to have excellent heat retention properties. The spring quality is sodium chloride bicarbonate spring . The hot spring, which is the color of olive oil, has excellent heat retention properties and keeps you warm for a long time. The water pouring from the Kannon statue feels divine. Now that I’m refreshed, I’ll take a stroll around the hot spring town at night. It has a different atmosphere from the daytime and is lovely. The public baths are also lit up, and it seems that people are taking baths after work. The patterns of yukata vary from inn to inn, so it’s fun to see the yukatas of people passing by. Since COVID-19, many places have stopped offering drop-in baths, so it’s a bit difficult to enjoy bathing around the baths. I hope they’ll resume them in a little while. It’s a shame that the standing bars are closed, but I was able to enjoy the hot spring town at night . I’ll take a rest in preparation for tomorrow . The morning market is held from 5:30. It’s exactly 6:00 now… When I took a walk after 5 o’clock, I saw some old ladies busy preparing. “It’s opening soon, so come on over!” they called out lol. This is a morning market van, I’m sure there were no customers when I saw it earlier, I guess they don’t go that early, by this time people are already gathering, they have chimaki, chimakieee ❤ plum jameee ❤ I want plum jam , simmer some ripe plums… I want plum jam and chimaki , I get it, I get it, just one plum jam and one chimaki… (chimaki) 350 yen for 5? That’s cheap , this, I’m making it at home so I’m not ordering it, is this radish? Is it colored? They call it vitamin radish, it’s a radish that’s colored from the beginning , is it originally that color? Wow! Wow! What a nice customer lol The cucumber looks delicious I’m going home today (no problem) They also sell “Shiso rolls” Kimchi Or should I go all the way to the other side Tochi Daifuku ❤ Let’s go all the way to the other side I came back and got the Daifuku Local specialties and handmade products are lined up, and it’s fun just to look at them The customer service is also easygoing and steady. I end up buying too much Is this place open every day? Yes, if you can’t come from April 20th to December 10th, you can take a break, so from September it will be open from 6pm. The days are getting shorter, so my wife said she wanted to soak in the hot springs, so I headed to Ishidaki Onsen alone. It’s a 10-minute drive from Hijiori Onsen, and it’s a natural hot spring. の時期に限って拝観が可能です。 English: The hot spring contains carbon dioxide, and when you soak your body floats, so it is said that the name comes from people hugging a stone into the water . However, due to construction work the road is closed… I read in the news that Ishidaki Onsen is managed by Ebisu-ya, and that he was also at the forefront of activities for the local area, such as the construction of the loop bridge earlier. Perhaps he is a local leader of some kind. I still have some time so I will go to Gensen Park. Gensen Park is just a few minutes’ walk south of the hot spring town. Pass the Yumori hut and Hot Spring No. 2 and go straight along the river. You can apparently sit around the hot spring dome and enjoy a waist-high bath. It is the off-season now, so it is a bit messy. Hijiori Dam, a erosion control dam built in 1952 , is beautifully lit up when there are events. Is there a festival next week? 14th… Opening of the hot springs festivalEvery year, on the same day… I wish we had come next week lolPlease come againThere is a tofu shop right in front of the innYou can buy unique tofu that is firm and richWe were surprised at the size of the tofu that the person passing by was holding, so we bought half a blockThis half block was incredibly large, and deliciousWe stopped by Caldera Hall on our way homeThis is a hot spring where you can enjoy carbonated springs, which are rare in JapanThere are separate large baths for men and women and an open-air bath that is alternated between men and womenThey are getting ready from 9:30 (it’s 9:00 now) Opening hours [April to November] 9:30 to 19:00 [December to March] 10:00 to 16:30 (reception is open until 30 minutes before)Bath feeAdults (junior high school students and above) 500 yen, elementary school students 200 yen, infants free / *Special price for villagers: Adults (junior high school students and above) 300 yen, elementary school students 100 yen, infants freeClosed every week Open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (open on public holidays, closed the following day) There are vast rice terraces covering an area of about 120 hectares, and the scale is said to be the largest in Tohoku. However, today is bad timing, but on a good day you can enjoy a view like this. Hijiori Onsen was great… nostalgic, lively, and warm. The birds are singing, “It’s 11 o’clock now. I love Hijiori vomit.” 8329Channel How to Walk Japan

    少し浅めの浴槽ですが、熱い方の浴槽はクセになります(笑)
    亀屋さんだから亀虫が宿を護ってくれてるのかな♪
