Kyukamura Ohkunoshima|Takehara, Hiroshima, Japan| KYUKAMURA HOTELS【Official Movie】|
Ohkunoshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, is known as “Rabbit Island,” attracting tourists from Japan and abroad as an island full of rabbits. KYUKAMURA OHKUNOSHIMA is the only accommodation on the island. We support a special stay time for interacting with rabbits. The trip starts at the Takehara’s Historic District. The old townscape remains, including Fumeikaku, which was built in 1758. After sightseeing in Takehara, take the ferry from Tadanoumi Port. It only takes about 15 minutes to get to Ohkunoshima Port. We recommend taking a ride around the island, which is about 4km in circumference, on the stand-up “C+walkT” ! An extraordinary experience of spending time with rabbits while looking at the sea awaits you! Although Ohkunoshima is now home to many rabbits, it actually has a tragic past of being used in wars. Even today, war ruins remain throughout the island, and visitors can learn about its negative history. The hotel lounge offers “rabbit booger soft serve ice cream” and the store also has rabbit motif products. The onsen is a natural radon hot spring that is effective for relieving fatigue. After soothing your tired body in the onsen, come play with the rabbits that are everywhere on the island. Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style in the restaurant. Diced Hiroshima beef steak is on the menu, along with fresh sashimi, a specialty of hotels near the sea. You’ll also find plenty of local dishes like fried oysters and okonomiyaki. Kyukamura is where you can see the most spectacular views of Japan.
A Paradise in the Seto Inland Sea – The Rabbits Island
Okunoshima, a small island floating in the Seto Inland Sea, is home to an entire resort run by KYUKAMURA HOTELS.
As soon as you step off the ferry, you’ll be greeted by friendly, curious rabbits.
After spending time playing with the rabbits, relax in the soothing onsen and savor a buffet full of fresh seafood delights.
Come and enjoy a unique stay on “Rabbit Island” Okunoshima — a resort experience like no other.
