【絶景ホテル】五千尺ホテル上高地スイート宿泊記|河童橋目の前の贅沢ステイ|上高地おすすめ高級ホテル Gosenjaku Hotel Kamikochi
Hello everyone, this is Ryo. This is a continuation of the previous Kamikochi video. Kamikochi can be fully enjoyed on a day trip, but one of its great attractions is the opportunity to stay overnight in a protected natural area with clear air and pure water, protected by private car restrictions. This area, overlooking the Hotaka mountain range and the gateway to serious mountain climbing, has seen the construction of hotels since the Meiji period, and today there are many quaint hotels dotted around key locations. This time, I stayed at Gosenjaku Hotel Kamikochi, one of the oldest and most historic hotels in Kamikochi, so I will give a detailed review. The video is structured in the following order: hotel overview, room tour, dinner, and breakfast, condensing the hotel’s charms into a video of around 12 minutes. The location is about a 5-minute walk from Kamikochi Bus Terminal, along the left bank of the Azusa River in front of Kappa Bridge. The emerald blue Azusa River flows leisurely in front of you, and the Kappa Bridge, the symbol of Kamikochi, looks as if it was built especially for this hotel. This hotel is located in such a special location, so I hope you will watch until the end. Let’s go inside. The hotel was founded in 1918, and the current building, built in 1975, retains the atmosphere of a mountain resort, with a tranquil design that blends in with the nature of Kamikochi. The public spaces in particular have a retro interior design, You can get a sense of the inn’s prestige and history from photos and newspaper articles from that time. And on the first floor there is this sweets cafe and bar lounge. This stylish cafe, decorated with Matsumoto folk art furniture, serves original handmade cakes. The strawberry and mango tart I had was delicious. I had already checked in when I arrived at Kappabashi Bridge, so I just received the key and headed to my room. By the way, if you check in in advance, you will receive a discount coupon that can be used at participating stores, so we recommend that you check in as soon as you arrive at Kappa Bridge. Now, let’s head to the room. The room we will be staying in is the Kamikochi Suite on the 4th floor. The spacious entrance is equipped with benches and a full-length mirror so that you can get ready for your climb. They also lend out bear bells, which is great for early morning or evening walks. The living room and bedroom are connected in an open space. This is a pantry that looks like a kitchen. Chocolates and Madeleines available. And the taps are actually made with natural water from Kamikochi. Stainless steel tumblers and cups are also stylish. The coffee has the Kamikochi logo on it, which makes it look delicious. The fridge contained pale ale beer and delicious tea. In addition, the natural water from Kamikochi is chilled, and it would be delicious mixed with whiskey. Yes, sorry. There are books about Kamikochi on the table next to the pantry, so you can research the flowers and birds that live in Kamikochi. They even lend out binoculars. Let’s take a look at the bedroom. Two semi-double beds are arranged in a spacious space. So what about the view from this room? You can see all the way from Kappa Bridge to Mount Yakedake. Let’s go to the back of this long balcony. This is the picturesque Mount Hotaka. Now let’s compare it with the live camera in front of Kappa Bridge. Oh, there’s no orange person here. There seems to be a bit of a time lag. Next, let’s look at sanitary. A stylish bathroom with motion sensor lighting. The hotel brand logo gives it a luxurious feel. For the ladies, La Casta cosmetics were available. A great laundry bag, The pajamas are also elegant And a luxury towel with a logo. How about the toilet? This was also a stylish toilet with a motion sensor. The bathroom is in the back here. There is also an over-the-air shower. There was also a small window from which you could see Mount Hotaka. Finally, let’s look at storage. There’s even a full-length mirror, so it’s more of a changing room than a storage room. Shelf for carry-on suitcases and ample hanger space. And because I was able to wear light clothing, this down vest was very much appreciated. There is also insect repellent spray so you can feel safe. Now, let’s explore the building a bit more before dinner. First of all, there is a large public bath on the first floor where you can relax and unwind after a long day of trekking. There seems to be something on the second floor. First, there were vending machines selling beer and other items, and beyond that was a large room. You can also chat after the trek and discuss mountain climbing plans. Newspapers and books are also available so you can relax and unwind. And there was a smoking area at the back of the lounge. Let’s go to dinner then. This dinner was a French course, but since it was a mountain resort there was no particular dress code and hiking clothes and shoes were fine. There is also a wide selection of alcoholic drinks, but since it is a French restaurant, we chose wine. First up is the amuse bouche A colorful turnip soup,
This is a churro topped with firefly squid. Truly French cuisine. It’s a time-consuming dish right from the start. And you can have as much freshly baked fluffy bread as you like. This garlic-like thing was a super creamy margarine. If I eat this, I won’t be able to eat regular margarine anymore. This time, a slightly different dish was served. It seems that the ingredients, including salmon and lots of vegetables, are wrapped in a crepe and eaten. I tried to eat it elegantly, but it ended up being a mess, so I won’t show you the rest of the story. Next up is a healthy horse meat and beet dish. This is very nutritious. And fish dishes. It really feels like French cuisine. Too delicious. And the main dish is a fillet steak made from domestic beef. The way it’s cooked is artistic and it looks delicious. It’s just too delicious! I can’t stop eating it. For dessert, we had a choice between strawberry and meringue ice cream or melon from Shizuoka Prefecture. This melon was super delicious. Finally, we enjoyed some delicious coffee and a small pastry made by the patissier, soaking in the afterglow of this exquisite French meal. We were planning to go for a walk after dinner, but it was pitch black outside and there was no lighting on the bridge, so we decided to give up and rest early. I heard that the sun would rise between Mt. Hotaka and Mt. Rokuhyaku, so I came here to see it, even though it was cold. The monkeys also seem to have an early morning start, eating heartily. This looks like a family grooming each other happily. This spoiled baby is hungry and begging for milk. Wow, I felt warm and fuzzy from the morning. The wind was quite strong and I got cold, so I went back to my room and took a morning bath. Feeling great! Let’s go to breakfast then. For the main dish, you can choose from omelette, scrambled eggs, or fried eggs. For the side menu, you can choose from bread, rice balls, or porridge. There is also a wide variety of drinks. You can also have pork soup if you like. This is a tofu salad. My wife chose bread and I chose rice balls. It’s a cute size, but the main dish was amazing so it was just right. For dessert, we had yogurt topped with Shinshu apple jam and a juicy orange. Finally, check out with a beautiful view in your mind. This time we introduced Gosenjaku Hotel Kamikochi, a long-established hotel located right in front of Kamikochi Kappa Bridge. What did you think? I was surprised to find that there was a hotel where I could stay so luxuriously while surrounded by the magnificent nature of Kamikochi. It is not just luxurious, but also has a long history, making it a mountain resort for adults. In addition, the authentic French full course dinner we had was carefully prepared one by one, and we could feel the tradition and attention to detail that is unique to Gosenjaku Hotel. And, waking up in the morning in a sophisticated room surrounded by the tranquility and natural beauty of Kamikochi was a truly blissful experience that I don’t get to experience in my everyday life. A place where nature and luxury coexist, I think that is the great appeal of Gosenjaku Hotel Kamikochi. This hotel is highly recommended for anyone looking for a special stay in Kamikochi, a place everyone should visit at least once in their life. After this, we will conclude the video by providing more details about the Kamikochi Bus Terminal.
