Hello, this is “Dora Travel.” This time, we’re traveling to Hiroshima Prefecture. We’ll show you places you’ll want to visit. This time, we stayed on Miyajima Island in Hiroshima Prefecture and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. We’ll explore the charms of Miyajima Island. We enjoyed eating our way around the island and experienced the morning atmosphere of Itsukushima Shrine and Miyajima at night, which only those who stay overnight can experience. Anago rice at Daishō-in Temple I will tell you all about the sightseeing spots I recommend. Miyajima, bustling with people, changes its appearance in the morning and evening. I will show you all the places that other YouTube channels don’t introduce. I hope you will watch until the end. Park the car at the port and start your journey. This channel is about traveling around western Japan by car. If you’re interested or want to support us, please click the “Like” button, subscribe to the channel, and turn on notifications. We visited in June. June in Japan was hot. Miyajima has a mysterious and majestic landscape, and the food is delicious. Do you have any special memories, viewers?
I’m sure you do. Before crossing over to Miyajima, let’s go to Anagomeshi Ueno. When we went at 10:00 right after it opened, it was already full. That’s amazing. No wonder it’s a famous “anago rice” restaurant. It was delicious. It was the best “ana-meshi” I’ve ever had, and I’d love to eat it again. It’s been a while since I last visited Miyajima. Let’s have fun! There are lockers at the station. I left my luggage there until I checked into the ryokan. If you’re staying at a ryokan or hotel far away, you can get a ride from the station, so don’t worry. I’m walking toward Omotesando, near the aquarium in the back. While walking, I discovered this shop: “Miyajima Curry Bread Research Institute.” Curry bread made with plenty of Hiroshima Wagyu beef Chewy on the outside, crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside The curry is mildly sweet with a subtle spiciness The rich flavor of the beef really shines through—the meat has a strong presence Even those who don’t like spicy food can enjoy this mild spiciness Deer looking at the camera Throat feels dry, so I want a cold, refreshing drink Gebra, a drink bar in the middle of the shopping district A refreshing lemon flavor that is perfect for summer The fresh aroma and tartness of Hiroshima-grown lemons The bitterness of the lemon, pickled with its peel, is pleasant. The interior features a simple yet stylish design centered around concrete. You can sit comfortably at the long counter seats. Above the restroom is a resting area. The air conditioning is working, and there are hardly any people around. There are few places to rest in the shopping district. There are no trash cans except in front of this restroom and at the terminal. Be careful when eating on the go! As you go further into the shopping district, the number of people suddenly decreases. The shaku-moji of Miyajima is based on the shape of Benzaiten’s biwa. The shaku-moji used to scoop rice is said to symbolize scooping up fortune or victory. It is a lucky charm that brings good fortune and luck. When you visit Miyajima, be sure to buy a shakumono to take home. Up ahead is the world’s largest shakuji (spoon-shaped symbol). It’s incredibly large. How did they transport it here? Above this is an observation deck where you can see Toyokuni Shrine and the five-story pagoda. At the exit of the shrine is a treasure museum. There were some dazzling national treasures. After visiting Itsukushima Shrine, it’s worth taking a look. To the west was Kiyomori Shrine. There are hardly any people around here. Unlike the lively Itsukushima Shrine, it is very quiet. It is a peaceful place. The deer are also relaxing. I’m tired from walking, so I’ll recharge with some momiji manju. It has a crispy texture and a rich butter aroma. The sweet red bean paste is not too sweet. It’s best to enjoy it fresh out of the oven. The second floor is air-conditioned. It’s a great place to take a break. Eating on the go takes a lot of energy, doesn’t it? The view was also nice. It’s time to check in, so we’ll head back to the ferry terminal. When I called the inn, they said they would come to pick me up in time for the ferry. The staff’s service was very thoughtful. The transportation, luggage storage, and sightseeing guidance were all highly praised. The guest rooms were perfectly clean and tidy. From the sea-facing room, you can see the large torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine. I love how relaxing this space is. The sweets in the room were, of course, “momiji manju.” There was also a foot bath on the inn’s premises. I was able to take photos of the large bathhouse and open-air bath. I’ll take a bath later. We had dinner at a restaurant in the shopping district. We took a short walk before heading to the restaurant. In the evening, the crowds have disappeared. You can enjoy the changing expressions of Miyajima as night falls. This is a privilege for those staying overnight. Tonight’s dinner is here. “Mametanuki”—the “anago rice” here is also amazing Dinner is also “anago rice”… It’s a plan that even I’m surprised by, lol While other restaurants grill it, here they steam it in a ceramic pot. It’s so soft and fluffy you can scoop it up with a spoon. Crispy, sweet “gansu” fried to order. It’s completely different from the conger eel rice I had at “Ueno” earlier. Both have their own unique charm and bring out the best flavor of the conger eel. I highly recommend trying both. It was delicious. Even when you’re full, your trip to Miyajima isn’t over yet. Something you should definitely experience when you stay here. That is the sightseeing boat that circles the Great Torii Gate. Only 2% of this area has been developed, with 98% remaining as virgin forest. We call it the sacred tree. If you stay on Miyajima, I highly recommend taking the sightseeing boat. There are fun explanations during the ride, making it a memory to last a lifetime. I bought some alcohol at the only convenience store on the island and headed back. Miyajima at night is also very beautiful. It was really quiet at night. The shops in Miyajima close early, so if there is anything you want to buy, it is better to buy it early. Tomorrow, we plan to visit the “Daisho-in Temple” located at the back of the inn and the “Itsukushima Shrine” in the morning. I’m looking forward to taking a bath to sweat it out. This is what I was looking forward to It was the best bath ever. The torii gate visible from the room is so magical. Good night.

  6. Thats looks amazing!
I never knew the night scenery is great aswell. Its looks lovely.
The anagomeshi also mouthwatering! I want to try it so bad.
