湯原温泉オオサンショウウオに会ってきました＜両生類最大＞岡山県真庭市に生息する国の特別天然記念物で生きている化石「はんざき」Japanese giant salamander

岡山県の北部にある真庭市には、露天風呂番付で「西の横綱」と呼ばれている湯原温泉があります。
湯原温泉は国の特別天然記念物大山椒魚（オオサンショウウオ）の生息地でもあり、町全体がオオサンショウウオで盛り上がっています。
この地域では、オオサンショウウオは「ハンザキ」という名前で呼ばれ、古くから人々の生活の近くに棲んでいます。
今回訪れた「はんざきセンター」では、体長1メートルを以上の生体から幼生まで会うことができます。

Yubara Onsen is also a habitat for the Japanese giant salamander, which is designated as a national special natural monument, and the entire town is filled with giant salamanders.
In this region, the giant salamander is called “hanzaki” and has been living close to people’s lives for a long time.
At the “Hanzaki Center” that we visited this time, you can meet from living organisms over 1 meter in length to larvae.
