Mt. Fuji Was a Total Letdown – I’m Still Mad!
next stop is Tokyo and Mount Fuji [Music] good morning everybody bill from Warm Strong Adventures finally made it to Tokyo uh it’s an early day for us we’re up excursion with the meet at 8:00 in the morning we’re already in the auditorium waiting for the group to be called we’re going to go visit Mount Fuji i’m not quite sure it’s about a 9 hour a 9h hour excursion
so I don’t know how long we have to drive to get up there i I don’t know but uh we will let you know [Music] on the shuttle headed to Mount Fuji at least a few of them on and lake don’t [Music] so close look at that this is going to be a long long trip [Music] it’s going to be about a 2-hour ride to our first stop Hakone Open Air Museum so just sit back and enjoy the views [Music] they had some very unique buildings here up a glimpse of Mount Fuji we are trying our best to stay healthy on this trip this is Japan’s first outdoor sculpture park it opened in 1969 and has over 1,000 pieces of artwork all right our first stop is Hokone Open Air Museum uh it it came with free bunch uh brunch so it was a buffet style it wasn’t bad wasn’t bad i had some noodles and some uh plant-based meat so not bad on this tour we only had about an hour to view the artwork not nearly enough time to see all these pieces of work [Music] who is that I see let’s get a closer look heat heat [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay i don’t do enclosed places so I let Beezy go down and uh check out this artwork [Music] [Applause] [Music] yeah just like I thought i’m so glad I didn’t go down here [Music] i’m getting anxious just looking at these clips [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] this piece of artwork made me think about the group the time what time is it [Music] some of the artwork they made it like a playground for kids [Music] and nope I don’t do mazes [Music] all right that was a fascinating uh trip through the open air museum here headed back to bus have to be there at 12:50 it’s about 12:48 right now [Music] now we’re headed to Mount Fuji this is what I came here for [Music] [Music] another part of this tour was to get on a little ferry boat and get a better glimpse of uh Mount Fuji [Music] a swing don’t mind if I do be careful of that pirate ship [Music] you can tell by the white caps that it was getting a little windy out here the waves are getting rough and it was starting to get cold [Music] we [Music] not going to lie here two hours of driving up here and this is the view we have of Mount Fuji yeah I was a little disappointed [Music] we had some better views driving up here than we are when we’re actually here [Music] [Music] i was not a happy camper it was at this point I wish I had taken a tour of the city of Tokyo instead of this [Music] bye Mount Fuji yeah there won’t be a next time all right we just got off the ferry we’re supposed to take the uh ropeway up to the top of the mountain here right there we’re supposed to take it all the way up to the top but it’s too windy so that has been cancelled now it’s time for a saki uh tasting uh they cancel car so they put us off at a restaurant have some saki tasting get like it looks like five samples for 800 yen don’t ask me how
much [Music] that no this was looking at that case oh boy after the saki uh try taste testing yeah it’s time to sit down maybe I need to get some food now but it was delicious had a couple of sweet ones that I liked i don’t know if I’m going to buy a bottle probably not cuz I can’t get it back on the ship so be Wheezy bought a bottle and got it back on the ship no that boy didn’t go to buy a bottle of stock i don’t know what kind he got it’s probably there was a brand in there that they were uh saying that President Obama tried to hear so yeah I think that might be the one he got cuz it it was a a decent taste of one so I don’t know i’ll ask when he gets back he went he ran off someplace [Music] heading back to the ship now here at the uh cruise terminal we have some pretty nice views i I really do wish I had gone to see Tokyo [Music] this is the Luminosa house band they were good they were They were really good [Music] prepare [Music] the money cuz for the work I do I pass almost everything on to you when I come home oh I know I’m going to be I’m going to be the man there we go [Music] don’t you want [Music] Heat heat [Music]
I had high hopes for this bucket-list day—seeing majestic Mt. Fuji and exploring the sights of Tokyo. But instead, a poor view of Mt Fuji, barely a glimpse of Tokyo, and a long day that didn’t go as planned.

Thanks Bill! Staying healthy is surely a challenge on your longer adventures. AND your fellow travelers seem intent on sharing ALL their nasty germs with you…lol. The expressions on you and your son’s faces said ALOT. lol . Another reason I keep my little purse fan with me to blow and circulate “bad” air from around me. This 9 hour tour had a lot included a from the scenic drive to food to museums to ferry rides to lackluster Mountain Views to sake sampling. Totally loving the voiceovers my friend – keeping us engaged all along the vlog. You surely have another reason to visit this area of the world and give Japan another shot at showing you Mt Fuji AND a tour of Tokyo.
