【広島 尾道】レトロでノスタルジックな街でグルメ食べ歩き&猫巡り|パン屋航路|ネコノテパン|AIR SHIP COFFEE|LIEN|しろくまおむすび|千光寺

I plan to go around a lot today, so I’ll leave early in the morning. It takes about an hour by train from Kurashiki to Onomichi. I arrived while I was dozing off. It was cloudy all day in Kurashiki, so I’m glad that it was sunny today! When I left the station, I could see the Onomichi Strait and Mukaishima right in front of me. The morning sun reflected on the water and sparkling. I’ve never seen such a view in my life. From Mukaishima, the Shimanami Kaido continues around the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. My dream is to ride the Shimanami Kaido by bicycle someday. The sea breeze woke me up. I’d like to start sightseeing from the shopping street right next to the station. There’s such a long line even early in the morning! It’s a popular bakery. Bakeries in the morning look especially delicious, and it’s so much fun to choose. This bagel was more delicious than a bagel, like a sweet. I’m happy to be able to buy a lot of delicious-looking bread in the morning. A long-established fish cake shop diagonally across from Bakery Koro. It looks very beautiful and would be a great gift for celebrations. You can order it individually, and there is a wide variety, and everything looks very delicious. I bought “Onomichi Gansu” and “Osakana Korokke”. If you want to eat it right away, there is a toaster right next to the shop to warm it up. Both were really delicious…! Soft and chewy, with a rich fish flavor! I can’t eat any other fish paste here anymore! It was so delicious. I’m glad that you can order it online. I’ll buy it again. The shopping street is right between the water supply and the mountain, so it’s interesting that the scenery of the side streets of the shopping street is completely different on the north and south sides. As I was walking through the shopping street, I suddenly saw a polar bear rice ball shop. It’s a little narrow inside, but there is a space where you can eat your rice balls at your leisure. There is a wide variety of rice balls, and it’s hard to choose… I had grilled mackerel rice balls and sea bream rice balls. The rice and seaweed were delicious, and the broth for the sea bream rice ball had a particularly nice aroma! It was so tasty! They have some unique toppings and limited editions, so I’d definitely like to go again. By the way, there is a vending machine outside, so you can quickly buy some things there. Finally, we left the shopping street full of delicious things and headed to the ropeway station. Our destination, Senkoji Temple, is at an altitude of 140 meters. We also said hello to the ropeway stationmaster. At the top of the artistic spiral staircase, there is an observation deck. You can see the Onomichi Strait and Mukaishima Island that we saw below, and the island beyond. The breeze blowing through is pleasant, and it’s a view that you could look at forever. (Honestly, I thought many times on this trip that I wish I lived in Onomichi!) From the top of the mountain to Senkoji Temple, we went down a walking path called “Literature Path.” I wonder who carved the letters on the stone, and how they carved them…? (I wondered how they would get through, but there was a gap unexpectedly😂) It was built between the rock walls, so the rock walls are very impressive. The view from the bell tower is also spectacular. Onomichi is beautiful from any height. The so-called “Kachikachi Rosary” is a specialty of Senkoji Temple. It is said that you slowly pull it while praying for happiness. The chain mountain of Ishizuchiyama, which was a training ground, has been open to the public in recent years. The view beyond is said to be spectacular, but I gave up because I was not confident that I could climb it. I think I will try again once I have built up some muscle. This is also a specialty of Senkoji Temple, also known as the “Ponpon Rock.” When you hit only this concave part, a soft “ponpon” sound is made. I tried hitting other parts, wondering “Is it really only here?” lol. (Of course, the sound was different only in the concave part😉) On the left you can see the three-story pagoda of Tenneiji Temple. The view of the train and the city of Onomichi over this tower was amazing. I want to go to a shop, so I walk around the area a bit. A cat was taking a nap up the road. I heard that Onomichi has a lot of cats, so I was looking forward to meeting one. His fur is fluffy in the sun. Such a cute sleeping face. It’s a good start. As soon as I said that, the next cat appeared. The name of the shop I’m going to has a cat in it. It’s a very cute shop with a garland as its landmark. The inside of the shop is very small, and it’s full to capacity with just one person inside. All the bread lined up in a small space looks delicious. This small window is the cash register. It looks like the cat’s paw will pop out at any moment. I’m happy to be able to buy delicious bread at such a cute bakery. Opposite is a square where you can eat the bread you bought. A cat pops out from the side street. It’s as if it knows that I bought bread. I’m dragged by the cat, but I go to the next shop. A coffee shop that also delivers to the square I was in. It’s a coffee shop run by a former sailor who loves coffee. Not only the interior of the shop, but the menu is also consistent with the sea. There is a bamboo forest nearby, which moderately softens the sunlight and feels good. The distinctive shape of this cup is also said to be inspired by a ship. It is a rare cup that you eat through the gap on the left and right. You can bring your own food (one order system), so I got a Nekonote Pan bread… A cat suddenly appeared (?!) and quickly settled on my lap. My husband is well liked by animals, so the cats usually sit on his lap right away. I’m jealous… I’ll pull myself together. Bacon epi, spicy bacon! The shiratama, bean paste, and chocolate bread, the balance of bean paste and chocolate is excellent and delicious. The pizza is a nostalgic taste of old-fashioned pizza toast. I’m happy with the many toppings. Everything was very high quality and delicious. I want to go again…! The cat was also in a relaxed mood. Apparently it was the cat of this shop, and the one that appeared in the square earlier was also from this shop. The coffee I enjoyed in the breeze was exceptional. Thank you for the meal. The bread, coffee, and cats were all so good that I felt happy. And then there was another cat. I had a vague feeling that all the cats in Onomichi are beautiful, aren’t they? They were very nice and even saw me off. No matter where you look, the scenery is beautiful, but the difference in elevation and the complexity of the roads are amazing. In fact, I got lost once before I reached the coffee shop. I got down to the area around Tenneiji Temple. From here, I finally went down the mountain through the Cat Alley. The Cat Alley is a short alley of about 200 meters, and there is a lot of cat art. There are more than 1,000 “Fukuishi Cats” in Onomichi! There are cats here and there in various shapes. They are so cute that they just look around. This is a real cat from the Cat Alley . I was very lucky because it seems that it is difficult to meet them when there are a lot of tourists. Handwritten cat tips. I love the expression of the landing cat on the far right. There were a few shops, but they were all closed that day and it was quiet. This is a genius piece of cat art that uses things on the ground. I passed through it in no time. It was fun! After passing through the cat alley, I arrived at Gon Shrine, which was located at the back of the ropeway station. Gon Shrine was a shrine that I felt a lot of energy from. The four camphor trees in the precincts are estimated to be 900 years old! The way they grew thick and sturdy was a mass of the energy of the earth. However, it is quite rare to see the ropeway passing above the shrine. I returned to the shopping district. I walked around, so I decided to take a short break and refuel with something sweet. The Seto Inland Sea is famous for lemons. It was warm that day, but I was curious about the hot lemonade ginger, so I bought one. The balance of honey and ginger was good and it was delicious! I want one in my hometown…! There were slices of lemon floating in it, and the scent was very refreshing! Just a short walk from the shopping street leads to this view. I’m jealous. The weather is nice, so I’ll buy some ice cream. This ice cream shop is loved by the locals. (Who knew there was such a thing as hot ice cream… (I realized this in the editing process)) Strawberry ice cream monaka and lemonade. Both are delicious! The freshly made monaka sandwiched between ice cream was crispy and had the best texture and taste! (Can you tell how many cats there are?) I happened to pass by this local sweets shop in the shopping district. I like lemon-based things, so I was drawn in by the store’s appearance. Inside the shop, there are many lemon-based sweets! There are so many varieties. First, I bought one and tasted it. It’s the best lemon cake I’ve ever eaten! The lemon scent fills my mouth and nose. It’s not too sweet and easy to eat! This lemon cake and the one with lemon peel in particular were delicious. I was able to buy a nice souvenir. It seems that it’s only available locally, so it was a good encounter. After this, I was planning to go to the cafe at the top of the stairs, but there was quite a line, so I decided to take a walk nearby. The “Enmeimon” gate, made of special granite, is said to extend your lifespan with the power of the stone if you pass through it. It seems that the hydrangeas are famous, but the weeping plums are also in full bloom and beautiful. This pine tree is 600 years old and died in the spring after blooming white flowers. It is said that in the past the branches stretched out as far as 25 meters, which must have been very impressive. It was a strangely calming temple where time seemed to flow slowly. In front of the gate of Jikoji Temple is a “two-story well” that was used long ago. In Onomichi, where there is a large difference in elevation, water for daily use was pumped up in this way. I felt the history of this place, which has been loved since back then. When I returned to the store thinking that it was about time, the line had cleared. The interior of the store had a strangely nostalgic atmosphere, a mix of renovation and antiques. I had an affogato and a Marocchino. You can choose between a single and a double affogato, and this was a double milk and chocolate. This was extremely rich, and the harmony of bitterness and sweetness was exquisitely delicious… It was my first time trying Marocchino, but it was also easy to drink and delicious! The interior was all in perfect balance, and I really liked the atmosphere. The atmosphere of the store and the owner were friendly, and I was completely soothed. The sun had completely set, and it was finally time to go home. Even though we arrived so early in the morning, the time flew by as we looked around. I’m sad to leave this view behind… After just one day, I’ve become a big fan of Onomichi. There are still many places I haven’t been to yet. It would be fun to come back in a different season. Until then, I’ll add more places I want to go to. See you in another video.
