Why is this longer than the longest flight? Typically we think of the longest commercial route as SIN-EWR, but the temporary rerouting to JFK is actually 3 miles longer (According to GC Map!).

Wonderful trip report. This footage reminds me of how travel was. Miss flying, miss aircraft food and miss strolling around the airport before boarding. Would love to experience SQ A350 ULR to JFK too if I have the opportunity.

You can slice and dice it how you wish but a single tray meal for business class at that price is nothing short of disgusting and honestly, Covid is not a reason for that. You can still serve something with a bit of class. It’s not like the crew or the passengers are rotating.

Was it because you were transit from a non VTL flight? Understood Singapore and Vietnam have no VTL flights yet…and understood if you transit VTL to VTL, you can access to the Silver Kris Lounge, no?
honestly the food presentation appeared poor. To me those meals looked no better than something you'd get flying transcon on United or Delta.
Very good review! This video reminds me the longest flight that I took (SIN-EWR) when they first introduced several years ago! I was on the premium economy class though 😉 I hope to get another chance to fly SQ on this route.

Airport in Guadalajara, Mexico has been super busy totally opposite to airport in Vietnam.

I have booked round trip JFK-SIN-BKK on January trip with miles. At least I got 10A seat on SQ24 flight. Hope it will be fun and more selections for book a cook in the future.
Nice review… didn't know they had a direct flight… a couple years ago (when life was normal) left Siem Reap, Cambodia -> Singapore -> Frankfurt -> JFK -> Syracuse that long flights was a killer.. My legs ached from the constant pressure from sitting… Why do you need to travel so much???? Thanks for the video

Really sad SQ downsized their meal. I flew their newly-resumed-but-soon-to-suspend LAX-TPE and shocked to see they removed salad and dessert on economy tray (while most other Asian airlines more or less brought back).
Btw I wonder how you shot the take-off / landing window view? Like how do I attach my phone/camera onto the window so it doesn’t shake?
When did you take this flight because Singapore Airlines has Business Class amenity kits now.
Question for anyone who’s recently flown SIA business class: do the FA’s constantly police the aisle for mask wearing? I recently flew Q suites and not one comment about not wearing a mask (it was freedom at last). I just booked JFK to SIN for Feb and really don’t want to have to wear a mask for 18 hours. Thanks
I’m living in Hong Kong. Compared with Singapore, Hong Kong adopted a much restricted rules to income passengers.
Even though passengers are vaccinated, they are required to conduct a 21 days hotel quarantine. Through out the quarantine, they are not allowed to leave their rooms and they will take a designated transport in order to separate them from contacting with the locals.
We are now having 0 local confined cases in Hong Kong. I hope you may tolerate with the quarantine rules when u travel to Asia. Most of Asian countries adopt a strict quarantine rules.

No desire to fly on such a long flight, even in true International F. I'll take a stop over anyday. 12 hours is about my max on a plane. No amenity kids on SQ is nothing unusual. They didn't offer them for years and stocked the bathrooms.

SIN-JFK is at the top of my bucket list (also first class on their a380) , though it may only be in premium economy. Hopefully in one of the solo seats.
Outstanding trip report. Liked and subscribed. Their business class seats are beautiful and comfortable. I hope to try SQ's 787-10 and A350-900 service between SGN and SIN in the future
