Tonami Yotaka Festival in Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture. The festival is said to have begun in the Taisho era as a prayer for a good harvest. The Yotaka lanterns are over 6m tall and young men parade through the town shouting “Iyasa Iyasa” with the sound of drums, flutes and wooden clappers.
