Hello, this is bien. I travel two or three times a month. This time, my destination is Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture. Located in a basin, Yamagata City is characterized by extreme temperature differences, with temperatures ranging from 35 degrees in the summer to minus 10 degrees in the winter . Due to this climate and abundant water, it is also famous as a producer of delicious rice. Yamagata is also known as the cherry kingdom, and is particularly famous for Sato Nishiki cherries. There is also Zao Onsen, which boasts one of the most historic hot springs in Japan. This time, I would like to take a drive around Yamagata City, focusing on gourmet food . Please watch until the end. First, I will take the Shinkansen to Yamagata Station. This time, I will be taking the Tsubasa for the first time in my life to Yamagata. It will take 2 hours and 16 minutes to get to Yamagata . This is really good ! Let’s get going. It’s the middle of June, but it seems to be a sunny day in the rainy season. After driving for a while, beautiful scenery spreads out before me . Arriving at Yamagata Station. I will use a car share from about a 5-minute walk from the east exit and go sightseeing. This time, I am on a two-day, one-night trip to Tohoku , and today is Yamagata and tomorrow is Sendai. I will spend today on a whirlwind tour of Yamagata’s gourmet food tour. I have arrived in Yamagata for the first time in my life. When I arrive in Yamagata, I want to eat this! There is a place called “Dondon Yaki” so I went there to eat it. But the roads are wide and the traffic is easy to drive. The first place I came to today is this snack shop. I enjoyed Yamagata’s specialty dondon yaki. There are many attractive menu items like this, but it’s really big. Dondon Yaki cheese and chili oil . It’s hard to tell unless you compare it with chopsticks. It ‘s really big and looks delicious. Today I’m going to eat as many Yamagata specialties as my stomach will allow. When I take out the chopsticks and eat it, it’s quite hard. It’s very chewy and looks delicious. If I eat it in one bite, it’s hot. Let ‘s try it . It’s like a cross between okonomiyaki and takoyaki. The dough is chewy and there’s cheese in it , so it’s addictive. It ‘s really delicious. The taste of tabera also looks delicious. Tabera dondon is seasoned with soy sauce . If I’m in the mood for tabera today, it’s also delicious, but it’s cheese after all. The cheese and mayonnaise are the best. If it was in my neighborhood when I was a student, I would have gone there every day. Wow, it’s so good. I came at a great time. Yamagata is really peaceful. That ‘s right, the roads are Surprisingly, it’s a straight slope… I had an image of mountains because it’s Yamagata , but it’s very easy to drive I just ate Dondon Yaki earlier, but since I only have one day to sightsee in Yamagata City, it’s gourmet time at two places in a row I entered the restaurant in about 30 minutes There is no ticket system or name writing system, so you have to line up in front of the restaurant I arrived before 11:30 on a weekday and entered the restaurant in about 30 to 40 minutes It looked delicious My order of salt wonton arrived It was super quick from ordering to the arrival of the ramen! I ordered salt wonton noodles and the most popular miso wonton noodles It was delicious It was delicious The soup was even more delicious than I imagined It was really delicious! It was more delicious than I imagined (how many times am I going to say that lol) I also added spicy miso Now it’s time to try it Conclusion I’m glad I waited in line for more than 30 minutes The ramen soup had a taste I’ve never had before It went up my nose, with a sesame flavor and maybe some green seaweed? I think it had a seaweed flavor to it and it felt like 3 or 4 different flavors came out in sequence and it was really delicious.I’m not sure if it’s spicy, but I added spicy miso halfway through to change the flavor and both were delicious.It was delicious with and without the spicy miso but personally I thought it was better with the spicy miso making it a little spicier ! 場です。またね！ English: The char siu was delicious The wontons were also very tasty Thank you for the meal The ramen was delicious There was a huge line and I thought it would be strange considering the line, but it was really delicious The soup was surprisingly light Not that rich It’s not super rich or gooey, but it has a body and it was delicious I actually wanted to do some Yamagata ramen hopping but if you do some Yamagata ramen hopping, you have to line up for about an hour at the popular restaurants and some restaurants close at 2pm so I wouldn’t be able to make it So this time I decided to eat at Megumi-san (it was a big hit) Next I’ll eat Dondon Yaki and ramen Since I ‘m already full I’ll go to Risshakuji , hike the mountain and burn off some calories before eating again next time I’m curious about this Onigarashi too It looks like it’s closed 15km left and easy to drive 7km left to Yamadera If I keep going straight I think I’ll reach Yamadera (Risshakuji) Wow This road is amazing It’s a really road It continues straight and straight up the mountain The road is so straight it does n’t feel like I’m going It’s like this, as expected of a popular tourist spot, it’s really crowdedIs this the trailhead ? Even though we were climbing a mountain, the stone steps were well maintained like this and the steps were not high, so it was quite easy to walk. It’s a bit dangerous to talk like this , but I’m getting a bit twisted . If I go up and down the stairs for an hour, I’ll be really hungry. I’m about half way there. When I looked back, the view was amazing. It seems to be Niomon Gate. It opens up when you get around here, and now this is number 11? 260 steps to the inner sanctuary . Let’s take a look at the Godai-do Hall. Amazing, what an amazing view. What a sense of openness. The scenery changed all at once. Hokekyo’s voice is really loud, lol. Isn’t it too mysterious? Wow, you can enter with shoes on. As I went further in, a spectacular view of a type I had never seen before unfolded before me. It’s more like a village or road between the mountains. The mountains are all evenly sized and dotted here and there . It was a really picturesque view. I climbed all the way up the stone steps. It was super hot and I was sweating, but since it’s still June, the breeze was cool and I stayed still. It was a nice temperature, cool and comfortable . There’s a station nearby so you can go sightseeing even without a car . Surprisingly, we got there in about 20 minutes. No matter how many times I see it, it’s amazing. These mountains and villages are in an amazing location. It’s cheap! Fortune slip 50 yen . It is believed that if you stroke the statue of the statue that seals away illnesses, it will cure you and protect you from illness. I paid 100 yen for two and wondered what I would get. I came. Number 9, Great Fortune . I ended up drawing it. It’s a great thing for a trip . There were stairs all the way and it was easy to walk. There were also many other things to see, so if you come to Yamagata, please be sure to check them out. I returned safely . It’s 2:39pm now, so I was able to go and come back in about an hour. Even though it’s ice cream, I was so curious that it wouldn’t melt that I ended up buying it. It was like eating frozen jelly and was extremely delicious. I think it would be great to spend half a day hiking around here , looking at the scenery, relaxing , and then come back and eat and drink a variety of things around here . Next, I’ll head south from Yamadera and head for Zao Onsen. The scenery is great and it’s easy to drive, so Yamagata seems like a really nice place to live . I’m going to eat a lot today. I’m going to Sendai tomorrow morning, so I’m going to eat as much as I can tonight until I go to bed. I’m going to enjoy Yamagata gourmet food. If you’re mainly sightseeing in Yamagata City, the roads are quite easy to drive on and the tourist spots are close by, so it’s good. It’s compact. You can do a lot of sightseeing, so if you want to do sightseeing and travel with a focus on food , I recommend Yamagata City, even if you’re traveling alone. It’s only 10km to Zao Onsen ! Amazing! What is this? Oh, amazing ! Zaosan Shrine? Amazing ! We arrived in no time! This is the Zao Onsen area in Yamagata City. I made a reservation for dinner at a restaurant for 7:30 p.m., and now it’s already 5 p.m. It’s quite a long time lol. We ‘ve only got a short time, but we’ve arrived at Zao Onsen. I wonder if I have time to walk around. Maybe I’ll just take a quick bath in the hot spring and then head towards Yamagata Station. This is a whirlwind tour. The hot spring town is only 300m from here! It’s surprisingly far away . Amazing , there’s something here, the Zao Sakura ropeway, the lift, the ropeway, the lift, is that a lift ? Before the Meiji era, each house did not have a bath, so public baths were set up and everyone would bathe there. There are still people walking around here and there. Is there a hot spring town ? However, if you want to do a proper tour of Zao Onsen, it’s better to come early. Wow , this road is amazing. Look at the amazing, spectacular view of Yamagata. Amazing , insanely divine, the mountain in the back. The sun is just shining. On the way back to Yamagata city, I discovered a wonderful view. Isn’t it so beautiful? This sunset is dazzling, but it’s a great view. I came at a good time. I passed a huge torii gate. My reservation time was approaching, so I just checked in and headed straight to the restaurant. The day ends so quickly. It got dark in the blink of an eye . It’s already 7:15pm. I’m going to enjoy dinner at the restaurant I had booked for today. I arrived safely . Tonight’s restaurant is here. The appetizer is flounder sashimi. It’s amazing. Oh, it looks delicious. Today I’m going to eat meat dishes as the main dish, so I’ll start with a salad to make it as healthy as possible. It was a heavy breakfast today, so I’d better eat some vegetables! At this time, I had tomatoes and roast beef for the first time in a while, but both had an aftertaste? The flavor was good and it was very delicious. The Yamagata beef tataki arrived . It was about the same as the katsu sandwich. I was curious about this too. Just by looking at it, I could tell. This is really delicious . It looks really delicious. Now I’m eating it . The more I chew, the more the flavor of the meat spreads in my mouth and the feeling of it coming out of my nose, the texture, everything was great. It goes great with the wasabi and yuzu pepper. The katsu sandwich is here ! It looks really delicious. I could eat it with my hands. It’s so thick and delicious. Next came the grilled yukhoe . It’s shining. The meat sushi looks delicious. Yamagata Station I wasn’t able to eat potato stew and cold ramen this time , but next time I come I’d like to try those too. I wonder how the cold ramen is. It’s nice , the breeze is pleasant, the width of the road and the number of people reminds me of Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, it’s kind of like this, the roads are clean and there aren’t many people around, the view from the 24th floor I wonder which way I’m going , it’s like, soon there’s a residential area lined with bars in front of the station , the lights inside are reflecting off of them, the breeze is pleasant, I discovered something , is this some kind of pond? : It’s called a fountain or a pond wow it’s amazing this is all filled with water and this is the west exit, I think it’s the west exit of Yamagata Station The sidewalk is really wide and easy to walk around there ‘s also a Max Value store if you’re staying at a hotel around here it’s a good place to do your shopping and check in at Max Value I think a place like this is good if you’re traveling and want to go for a walk at night It’s nice to have an open view it gives you a totally different feeling of openness If it’s too urban it doesn’t feel so relaxing Today’s hotel is a type of twin room I’ve never stayed at before it’s a twin room with bunk beds I wonder if when two people stay there the two sleep on the bottom If you’re a couple you can sleep on the top and the bottom It’s amazing it’s kind of nice it feels like a college dorm and it’s so relaxing lol There are outlets and there are outlets here too It’s a very compact room it has a kind of secret base feel to it which is nice The air conditioner is facing this way It’s like this Oh! A quiet refrigerator that ‘s quiet to sleep in. It’s true that in hotels, the refrigerator is surprisingly close to the pillow , so it can be loud and hard to sleep. Also , there’s a hot spring on the first floor. Let’s go take a bath in the hot spring. I discovered this on the first floor. If I come here next time, I’d like to try them all. Cherry thyme after the bath. There are two in each bottle. What? Is this the right answer? Cherries are said to be twins at a discount. They ‘re almost twins, so they’re cheap. Even if they’re at a discount, they’re still delicious! Well, you can eat them without any problems. They were more delicious than I expected . Sagranbo tastes like this . They ‘re really delicious. Cherries and yubeshi are delicious! Chewy, this is sesame yubeshi. Yubeshi is good! If you bring a few on a road trip, if you get hungry, you can eat this with a cup of coffee while on a road trip.
