大型トラックも通る?観光地、住宅地を走る港へ続く道 北海道道270号「岩内港線」 岩内町 北海道ドライブ動画
Mochiko:Hi, it’s Mochiko! Monet:And I’m Monet! Mochiko:Today, we’re driving on Hokkaido Prefectural Route 270, the Iwanai Port Line. Monet:That name sounds like a special move or something. Mochiko:…What do you mean? Monet:IWANAI RAY! Mochiko:……? Monet:…Hehe. Mochiko:So anyway, we turn off National Route 229 into a residential area, Mochiko:and from the intersection with the main road, it becomes the Iwanai Port Line. Monet:It’s a road that heads toward Iwanai Port, right? Mochiko:Yep, it leads straight to the port. Mochiko:Well, it’s a short road?only 1.338 km long. Monet:Iwanai Town is right on the coast, so the sea must be pretty close, huh? Mochiko:Exactly! I’m impressed you figured that out. Monet:Hehehe… Pretty cool, huh? Mochiko:It would’ve been perfect… if you hadn’t said that last part. Monet:…… Monet:You know, this road… Monet:Haven’t we just been going through residential areas the whole time? Mochiko:Yeah, it seems that way… Mochiko:I think we’re on the right route, though… Monet:Oh hey, there’s a road sign with the name on it! Monet:It’s pretty faded, though. Mochiko:Ah, good. That means we’re on the right road. Mochiko:We turn right at this intersection. Mochiko:Then just keep going straight, and we’ll reach Iwanai Port. Monet:…Huh? Monet:What a strange route. Monet:Wouldn’t it make more sense if the road just connected straight to the national route? Monet:Why go through a residential area? Mochiko:Yeah, I wonder… Mochiko:Apparently, this road used to be part of a route called the Iwanai Port-Rankoshi Station Line… Mochiko:But even then, the route seems to have been different. Mochiko:At least it looks like it’s always been a fairly wide road. Monet:So, this weird route got chosen because it’s wide? Mochiko:Well, probably. Monet:I see… Mochiko:Now let’s drive the opposite direction. Monet:Okaaay. Monet:Oh yeah, I’ve seen signs that say “20t” for trucks. What’s that about? Monet:Those signs mean it’s a “designated weight road.” Mochiko:On regular roads, vehicles over 20 tons total weight aren’t allowed. Mochiko:But on this road, trucks up to 25 tons can pass without needing special permission, Mochiko:under certain conditions. Monet:So basically… Monet:That means a lot of trucks use this road? Mochiko:I think most trucks can use most roads, Mochiko:but yeah?especially heavy-duty ones with big loads probably use this road a lot. Monet:…Through this residential area? Mochiko:Well… yeah… Monet:You said “without permission” earlier, Monet:but with permission, can trucks go anywhere? Mochiko:Not necessarily anywhere, but with conditions like slow speeds or escort vehicles, Mochiko:they can get permission to use roads they otherwise couldn’t. Monet:This road, though, doesn’t need permission. Mochiko:Gotcha. Monet:That makes this road pretty convenient, huh? Monet:…Even though it runs through a neighborhood. Mochiko:Yeah… Mochiko:Still, the area near the national route has a roadside station, Mochiko:and lots of restaurants and inns?it’s a tourist spot, too. Monet:Oh wow, really? Monet:I didn’t even notice… Mochiko:Probably because it’s such a short road and we were focused on explaining stuff the whole time. Mochiko:Plus we had that whole “ray beam” nonsense earlier… Monet:Yeah… sorry about that. Mochiko:Anyway, we made it to the end! Monet:Wait, really? Already!? Monet:Good work! Mochiko:And that was the Iwanai Port Line, Route 270 in Hokkaido! Monet:We only got a brief glimpse of Iwanai Port, but it looked huge! Monet:There were fishing boats too?it was kinda exciting! Mochiko:Hehehe, not like we’re planning to board one though. Monet:Still, getting away from the everyday is nice! Monet:And that view from the fishing port side?of the mountains and houses? Monet:It was stunning… Mochiko:And the weather held up. The mountains looked beautiful in the sunshine. Monet:The sea and the mountains really are amazing… Monet:I want to become a mountain… Mochiko:Since it’s a road to the port, maybe you should want to become the sea instead… Monet:…Yeah, good point.
