令和7年6月8日、伊勢市。第63回神宮式年遷宮の一連行事の一つ「御樋代木奉迎行事」を前にご神木を載せる「奉曳車」を外宮から度会橋東詰まで曳きました。

Once every 20 years, the Inner and Outer Shrines of Ise Grand Shrine, the most sacred places in the Shinto religion, are rebuilt with timber from sacred cypress trees (“Mihishirogi”) brought to Ise from Nagano and Gifu prefectures.

This video was filmed on June 8, 2025. It shows the “Hōeisha” — a special cart, used for transporting the “Mihishirogi” — being pulled by local citizens from the Outer Shrine (Geku) through the streets of Ise. The “Hōeisha” is pulled along a route of around 3km, before reaching the Watarai Bridge over the Miyagawa River by nightfall. On June 10th, the wood of a sacred tree will be loaded onto the Hōeisha and pulled into the Outer Shrine.
