2025年6月23日（月）、JAきたそらち北竜支所に「北竜ひまわりメロン」が初出荷されました。天候不順で出荷は遅れましたが、糖度18度と高品質な仕上がりとなりました。翌24日に旭川市の市場で行われた初セリでは、一箱10万円のご祝儀価格がつきました。生産者は丹精込めたメロンの出来に笑顔を見せ、市場関係者は生産者の収益安定に貢献する決意を語っています。
